Chapter 4: CHAPTER 4
Uchiha Tianxiong returned home and shut himself in his bedroom.
Without hesitation, he opened the book given to him by Uchiha Tunan.
It contained detailed notes on the theoretical lessons taught at the Ninja Academy, all neatly summarized.
Tianxiong, who usually ignored theory classes, flipped through the pages absentmindedly. As he touched the rough paper, he muttered, "The quality of this book is terrible."
As he turned the pages, he noticed that two were stuck together. He licked his fingertip, rubbed them apart, and continued reading.
Meanwhile, at Uchiha Tunan's Home
After returning, Uchiha Tunan walked straight into the kitchen, removed the lid of a pot, and turned on the gas stove.
He stared at the transparent liquid inside with an expressionless face. As the heat rose, the liquid began to evaporate.
"In this weather, it should take about three days to evaporate naturally… but I don't have that much time. I'll need to speed things up," he murmured.
Narrowing his eyes, he turned off the heat, washed the pot thoroughly, and refilled it with water.
Opening the refrigerator, he found it stocked with vegetables and various wild herbs.
Tunan selected a few types of weeds and some vegetables, placing them in the pot to cook.
"These days, it's safest to eat only what I prepare myself," he thought.
---
The Next Day
Uchiha Tianxiong woke up with a headache.
"Did I not get enough sleep? Must be because I stayed up late reading."
Thinking this, he decided to continue sleeping. Skipping a day of class wouldn't matter—graduates didn't learn much new material anyway.
That evening, Tianxiong, feeling sluggish, dragged himself to the northern training field of the Uchiha clan.
He had promised that kid he would train him today.
A Uchiha must always keep their word.
"Ahem…" Uchiha Amao sat on the grass, looking around impatiently.
"That brat still isn't here… Maybe the instructor is holding him back."
---
At the Northwestern Training Field
Uchiha Tetsuo was training rigorously.
Suddenly, he heard movement behind him. He stopped and turned around.
Uchiha Tunan stood there, looking around blankly, as if lost.
"What are you doing here, brat?" Tetsuo said coldly.
Tunan flinched slightly at the harsh tone and said weakly, "I… I'm looking for Tianxiong-san."
"He's not here. Get lost."
Tunan turned to leave, muttering under his breath, "Tch."
Tetsuo's sharp ears caught the sound. His expression turned cold.
"What did you just say?" he asked, his voice laced with menace.
Tunan shivered and stammered, "W-why are you so angry? You can't even beat Tianxiong-san, so why take it out on me?"
Tetsuo sneered. "Oh? He told you that?"
Tunan nodded. "Tianxiong-san said your theoretical scores are high, but in terms of actual combat, you're no match for him."
Tetsuo let out a low chuckle. "That's what he told you, huh?"
"Hmph." Tunan snorted and quickly ran off.
Behind him, Tetsuo's expression darkened.
---
At the Northern Training Field
Uchiha Tianxiong had just finished warming up when he felt his body weaken.
"Am I getting sick? Did I catch a cold from staying up late?"
"Tianxiong-san!"
In the distance, Uchiha Tunan ran toward him, panting.
Tianxiong smirked slightly before quickly masking his expression. He crossed his arms and said coolly, "You're late."
"I went to the wrong training field. I'm sorry for keeping you waiting," Tunan replied with a respectful bow.
Thud!
A kunai landed at Tianxiong's feet.
"Who's there?!" Tianxiong snapped, looking toward the trees.
"Tianxiong, just because I don't bother talking to you doesn't mean you can insult me."
Uchiha Tetsuo stood on a thick tree branch, looking down at them with arrogant confidence.
"Duel me. Let's see how much you've improved."
Before Tianxiong could respond, Tetsuo leaped down, kunai in hand, launching an attack.
"Damn it," Tianxiong cursed, raising his weapon to block.
Clang!
Tianxiong felt an overwhelming force push him backward.
If I weren't sick, there's no way he'd be this cocky.
Sweat formed on Tianxiong's brow as he glared at Tetsuo.
Shh!
He threw several kunai, each colliding mid-air to alter their trajectory and confuse Tetsuo.
But—
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Tetsuo easily deflected them, barely moving.
"You didn't even activate your Sharingan. You're nothing but a weakling."
Tetsuo's eyes flashed as his Sharingan activated—a single tomoe spinning in each pupil. He smirked, then turned his gaze toward Tunan, who was watching with a stunned expression.
Tunan's face showed worry, disbelief, and… disappointment?
Tianxiong saw it too. His chest tightened at the sight of Tunan's expression.
I am not weak. I am not weak.
His blood boiled, and suddenly, his vision shifted—
A crimson glow filled his eyes.
His Sharingan had awakened.
Tianxiong quickly formed hand seals.
"Oh? You finally awakened it?" Tetsuo smirked. He noticed the seals Tianxiong was forming.
A Fireball Jutsu? Then let's see who's stronger.
Both of them inhaled deeply.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
At that moment, Tianxiong's body convulsed in agony. His chakra flow was disrupted.
What… is this… pain…?
A massive fireball roared from Tetsuo's mouth, engulfing the battlefield.
Tianxiong tried to move, but a sharp, unbearable pain spread through his body. His consciousness faded.
---
When the fire cleared, Tetsuo scanned the area.
He's gone? No… he couldn't have died that easily…
Sniff sniff.
A faint scent of burning flesh filled the air.
"Somebody's been killed!" Tunan shouted, running toward the clan compound.
Tetsuo's blood ran cold.
No… this isn't right. Tianxiong shouldn't have died. We were evenly matched before he got sick…
Did I really kill him?
Realization hit him.
The Uchiha clan's rules were strict. If he killed a fellow clansman without cause, he would be executed.
I can't let this go public. If this gets out, I'm finished!
His eyes snapped to Tunan, who was dashing toward the compound.
"I have to silence him!"
Tetsuo sprinted after him, kunai in hand.
But then—
Tunan's eyes turned blood red.
The tomoe in his Sharingan spun.
He turned, formed hand seals mid-run, and shouted:
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
Tetsuo barely had time to react before a fireball, just as massive as his own, collided with his attack.
How… How does this kid have such power?
Kunai shot through the flames, curving mid-air to strike him.
One slashed his thigh.
He copied Tianxiong's throwing technique—and improved it?!
Tunan landed on a tree branch, his Sharingan glowing.
"You feared Tianxiong-san would surpass you, so you killed him."
His voice was filled with anger and sorrow.
"Now… I will avenge him."
With that, Uchiha Tunan charged forward.
