Chapter 15 - 3# Unlocked Rooms in a Horror Game
This is the safe zone.
Compared to the hectic pace at the beginning, the monsters were quiet.
The beginning may have been due to Holloway’s whim, and I could have been given a break by completing the third floor story game.
I put on some nearby slippers and looked to see if anything was different.
“This room is a lot nicer than the other rooms. I guess it was a bit expensive.”
Moran looked around the room, looking a little curious.
Due to the nature of the hotel, the size and splendor of the rooms vary depending on the price.
The room had one large bed, a large sofa and a table. There was a desk and a bathroom next to it.
‘Is it just a safe space as written on the window?’
I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t find anything special.
Holloway asked as he watched me rummage around.
“Sister, are you looking for something?”
“No.”
If I do, will he tell me I’m crazy?
When I confirmed that there was nothing, I felt tired.
As someone who didn’t trust Moran and Werner, sleeping with a weapon in front of them was ridiculous.
Moran was especially untrustworthy. She did something to Holloway or made subtly angry comments.
The moment I fell asleep, I felt like they could sneak away with my pistol and sword.
First of all, it would be better to get some rest instead of not sleeping.
I went to the sofa and sat down, and Holloway sat down next to me.
“Sister, are you not hungry?”
“I’m hungry…”
Werner stopped me from leaning against Holloway as I lost strength.
Then he gently placed my face on his shoulder.
“What are you doing?”
“Isn’t it better to rely on an adult rather than a child?”
“Ha.”
At that moment, a cool breath burst out from between Holloway’s lips.
“A child.”
While muttering that, Holloway kept frowning as if he didn’t like something about that.
It wasn’t good to offend the final boss.
Throwing away Werner’s hand, I placed Holloway on my lap and hugged him.
I buried my face in his shoulder and mumbled.
“This is much better.”
“Right? You like being in my arms better too, right?”
Holloway, who spoke in an excited voice as he had never done that before, stroked my head.
That touch made me fall asleep without realizing it.
Ah, I can’t. Come to my senses.
I couldn’t do so and fell asleep.
***
In that moment, Evelin’s steady breathing could be heard, as if she had fallen asleep.
Regardless of who first did so, everyone in the room became quiet.
Holloway leaned comfortably against Evelin, who was sleeping and hugging him tightly. Werner extended his hand to Holloway.
“I’m trying to carry Miss Evelin to the bed, so can you get out of her arms?”
Instead of answering, Holloway looked up at him.
He was strangely an annoying man.
He kept hanging around next to Evelin, who said she didn’t like it. Even though Evelin constantly refused, he didn’t care.
Holloway smiled brightly, pointing to Evelin’s arms wrapped around his waist proudly.
It was a pretty smile that seemed to exude the scent of baby’s breath.
Gently folded eyes, abundant white eyelashes, and red lips that draw an arc.
It made it impossible for anyone to take their eyes off him.
“Because Sister wouldn’t let me go!”
Werner’s eyes sharpened.
“Then I have no choice but to move you together.”
It was when he was trying to pick up Evelin, who looked uncomfortable.
Evelin woke up startled by the slightest touch.
“What is it? Why are you touching me? Are you trying to take my weapons?”
“I was just trying to move you to the bed because you were sleeping uncomfortably.”
“I didn’t sleep.”
Evelin’s face was full of drowsiness as she lied shamelessly.
Holloway realized that she wouldn’t sleep as long as Werner and Moran were there.
She can’t sleep in front of the two, yet she sleeps comfortably in front of him.
That fact alone brought a satisfied smile to Holloway’s face.
[Holloway’s favorability has increased by 3%!]
[Accordingly, ‘attachment’ and ‘possessiveness’ are opened.]
[Possessiveness and attachment are values based on choices you made until now.]
[Favorability: 5.5%
Attachment: 1%
Possessiveness: 8%]
Evelin’s eyes narrowed as she looked at the window.
‘…Wait. Possessiveness? Why is that number so high?’
Evelin felt like she was falling asleep.
As if that wasn’t enough, both were opened at the same time when the favorability rating was barely over 5%.
Rather than feeling happy about it, Evelin licked her dry lips, feeling an ominous feeling rising within her.
‘This one… seems to be dangerous.’
As Evelin was reeling from the sight, Holloway’s small hands covered her cheeks.
“Sister, aren’t you going to sleep?”
Holloway brought his face close to her and whispered softly so only she could hear.
“You can’t sleep in front of anyone but me, right?”
Evelin couldn’t give any answer to his voice, which seemed to be filled with obsession.
Ring.
[Possessiveness has reached 10%.]
[Favorability: 5.5%
Attachment: 1%
Possessiveness: 10%]
[If possessiveness level is more than 10% higher than the attachment level, the confinement ending is approaching.]
[If possessiveness level is 10% higher than the attachment level and continues for 24 hours, ‘Unhappy Confinement Life’ begins.]
…W-What kind of life?
[An exception is this time, where a special quest occurs.]
[Would you like to accept the quest to increase attachment?]
[Yes] / [No]
Evelin clicked the ‘Yes’ button without any hesitation.
As of now, she doesn’t know how to increase the attachment level, so she has no choice but to take this quest.
A confinement ending.
That doesn’t make her happy either!
She forgot.
Before the horror game, it also includes a dating simulation with basic romance.
To think that opponent is the final boss!
Evelin, who had tried to escape easily by simply raising the favorability rating, just wanted to cry at the thoughts inside her.
[You accepted the special quest.]
[Quest to increase attachment level
Objective: Appease Holloway’s hunger. You should cook and serve him delicious food.
Warm food will melt Holloway’s frozen heart a little!
Time limit: 5 hours
Clear reward: Holloway’s attachment level increases by 10%.
If failed: You get closer to the confinement ending.]
[The ‘Dining Room: Lounge Bar’ closest to the current location is on the right side of the first floor lobby.]
***
I was hungry, but it just so happened to be done well. I decided to wake up and try cooking in the dining room. All I know how to do is make soup, though…
To change the strange atmosphere, I turned to Holloway.
“Let’s find the dining room and see if there’s anything worth eating.”
“Yes, Sister!”
Fortunately, the strange atmosphere quickly changed.
Werner and Moran also stood up.
“But, do you know where the dining room is?”
“Isn’t it usually in the lobby on the first floor? If it’s not there, I’ll look for it.”
It doesn’t matter if they don’t follow me, but.
However, perhaps they were hungry too, or perhaps they were keeping an eye on me and Holloway in case I ran away, but they chased after me without saying a word.
“Do you know how to cook?”
This was a question he asked knowing that I, who had lived as a noblemy whole life, didn’t know how to cook.
“No. I know how to make soup, but… Holloway, is soup fine with you? I’ll look at the ingredients and make more if I can.”
“You’re cooking for me?”
“Mmhm.”
Only then will the level of attachment increase.
I don’t want the unhappy confinement life.
If I was going to do anything, I wanted to live a happy life in confinement.
I especially didn’t want to be trapped in this hellish hotel.
“So I’m the only one eating that?”
“Hm? No… there are Sir and Moran, so we’ll all eat together.”
“Aha, I see!”
Do you really understand?
Holloway, smiling cheesily, was a little uneasy.
And that anxiety was right.
When we got to the first floor and turned the corner into the dining room, we came face to face with the monster.
The monster wearing a large pumpkin mask held a huge ax in both of its hands.
An ax dripping with thick blood.
The monster that discovered us suddenly started running in place.
Perhaps to gain momentum, it jumped into the air, but as soon as its feet touched the floor, it started running forward as if it were bouncing quickly.
Moran screamed in surprise.
“Aaaah!”
The scream startled it even more and made it flinch.
“Escape, run first!”
We turned around and tried to run away, but Moran lost strength in her legs and fell.
Before I could do anything, Werner quickly picked up Moran and ran.
I ran towards the safety zone on the second floor. Werner tried to follow me too, but suddenly sharp spears fell one after another from above.
The spears were so sharp and hard that they fell to the floor and became stuck.
The spears that fell between Werner and me caused me, Holloway, Werner, and Moran to suddenly fall.
The monster quickly caught up with us without missing the opportunity, jumped up with a large axe, and slammed it into the ground.
The floor shattered due to the recoil, and the aftereffects of the vibration reached us.
Due to the strong vibration of the floor, Holloway and I were floating in the air and rolling around. Werner saw that and shouted.
“Miss Evelin!”
“Don’t worry about me, just run away!”
I have a gun!
“But…”
As Werner hesitated, the large monster suddenly split in two.
We stopped for a moment and looked at the shocking sight. The two identical monsters faced each other back to back.
One started running towards us, and the other seemed to have targeted Werner as prey.
Werner also seemed to realize that this wasn’t the right situation and began to run away.
“Shit!”
It was a waste to use it now, but I had no choice. It was time to take out the gun.
Suddenly, someone picked me up from behind, lifted me up, and pushed me against the wall.
It wasn’t Holloway.
It was an adult man with such strength that his thick arms wrapped around my waist and lifted me up.
Before I could say anything, I heard a low-pitched voice.
“Just keep putting your face against the wall.”
Unlike the harsh words, the voice exuded kindness.
I couldn’t see what was happening, but I heard a brief thumping sound, and then silence fell.
“Excuse me. Thank you…”
Even though I said thank you, there was no reply from behind.
It looked like he was still hugging me from behind.
With my face still pressed against the wall, I quietly asked again.
“Has it gone?”
As I carefully tried to turn my head, I felt the man’s forehead touch the back of my head.
“I told you not to turn around.”
His arms wrapped around my waist tightened. His breath mixed with laughter touched the area of my neck.
I stuttered without realizing it in the strange and thick atmosphere.
“W-Why? Can’t I see it?”
“Yes, you can’t. Because….”
His hand fiddled with my fingers, as if playing with them.
He whispered lowly in a dangerously seductive voice.
“There’s a very naughty little boy behind you.”
Ring!
[Possessiveness has increased by 2%.]
[Favorability: 5.5%
Attachment: 2%
Possessiveness: 12%]
[Possessiveness is 10% higher than attachment!]
[23:59:59 left in ‘Unhappy Confinement Life’]
[Hurry and increase your attachment level!]
