Hunter x Hunter : Germain Joins The Hunt

Chapter 274: Chapter 254 : Chaos Roar Must Be Mastered!!

100-Type Guanyin: 35th Hand!

100-Type Guanyin: 43rd Hand!

100-Type Guanyin: 51st Hand!

With frequent increases in strength and speed, Netero finally managed to suppress Germain and his Ominous Undead once again.

All of Germain's movements were sealed off by the Hundred-Type Guanyin, with almost no escape routes left!

Netero continued with his usual technique—strike, palm, withdraw—executing it flawlessly!

You have nowhere to run!

You have nowhere to run!

Germain gritted his teeth, refusing to let go of any chance to escape this trap.

Netero laughed again mockingly.

"Germain, is this all you've got? Are you really going to give up now? I'm using the Hundred-Type Guanyin, and we're only halfway through."

Hundred-Type Guanyin, Sixty-Fourth Hand!

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The terrifying destructive force of the blows, combined with almost unrelenting attacks, sealed off all directions. The intensity and speed only increased, with no chance for counterattacks.

Germain was trapped in an absolute corner, like a wild beast locked in a cage.

It seemed like there was no other choice.

To avoid defeat, he had to push himself to his limits!

A dark crown suddenly appeared, hanging above Germain like the Sword of Damocles!

The thorns of torment ruthlessly dug into his body!

"Roar—"

Bones filled with flesh, the terrifying beast roared at Netero in the sky!

The impenetrable gusts of Netero's palm were torn apart by the Chaos Roar of the beast's claws!

Come at me!

Blood's Intoxication!

Hundred-Type Guanyin, Seventy-Second Hand!

Netero calmly launched another strike, but this time, it missed twice in a row.

The massive figure actually possessed the speed to dodge the palm strikes of the Hundred-Type Guanyin. Unbelievable!

Netero's expression grew more serious, and he stopped mocking or making any further remarks.

This guy was indeed hiding a final trump card, but it looked like it was taking a heavy toll. This was going to get interesting…

In the distance, the Chaos Roar of Germain and Netero's Hundred-Type Guanyin clashed nonstop, with the booming sounds echoing endlessly.

Zeno and Silva exchanged a glance, both surprised by what they saw on each other's faces.

Due to the rules and the limited arena, when they fought Germain a few days ago, they couldn't use their full power.

It was the same for them. They knew that Germain hadn't used his full strength either. He must have been holding back.

But they never expected that when Germain revealed his trump card, it would unleash such power, enough to challenge Netero's Hundred-Type Guanyin.

The scene was truly magnificent!

Germain's Chaos Roar only defended, not attacking, yet it managed to repel every strike from Netero's Hundred-Type Guanyin.

His performance was already impressive.

Unfortunately, the condition for his victory was to dodge Netero's attacks more than ten times in a row.

Simply deflecting the attacks wasn't enough.

Netero didn't have the time for idle talk; he needed to focus.

Earlier, he had missed twice in a row when attacking Germain. He decided he had to increase the intensity!

Hundred-Type Guanyin: 85th Hand!

Chaos Roar counterattack!

As Netero released a golden gust with his palm, his breathing became more hurried.

He realized he had already used the 85th Hand, but Germain had adapted again.

Most importantly, Germain began to change his strategy. Instead of moving around more, he used the body of the Chaos Roar to withstand the impact of the Hundred-Type Guanyin.

The Chaos Roar either deflected the Hundred-Type Guanyin's strikes or absorbed them directly with its body.

With this, Netero's attack had now failed to hit Germain for the fourth consecutive time!

If, in human form, maintaining the conjured weapon around him was the ultimate display of the Conjuration, Transmutation, and Manipulation categories.

Then his conjured nen beast displayed a strength that could rival my 99th Hand of the Hundred-Type Guanyin.

Perhaps abilities of Emission and Transmutation have not yet displayed yet... maybe...

Netero grinned.

99th Hand of the Hundred-Type Guanyin!

Boom boom boom boom boom—

A dazzling array of golden explosions suppressed the Chaos Roar as it swung its claws, dancing wildly in the air.

The fluctuations of nen made the forest and mountains seem as though they were caught in a hurricane.

Fallen leaves, branches, and dust were scattered in the air, and even the sky became a bit darker.

"Roar—"

The Chaos Roar once again tore through the offensive of the Hundred-Type Guanyin, breaking open a hole in the previously impenetrable golden world!

Germain leaped through the gap, shooting towards Netero like an arrow.

Netero felt the killing intent rushing towards him, his eyes narrowed.

Directly attacking me? That's against the rules. Has his rationality been consumed by his bloodlust?

Well then, let's wake him up...

Just as Netero was about to bring his palms together to trap the approaching Germain, he suddenly noticed that Germain's Nen had weakened, like a dimming oil lamp.

Bang—

In the next moment, Germain slammed into the ground.

His Nen instantly dissipated, and the Chaos Roar stopped for a moment before vanishing entirely.

Only the dark crown on his head and Netero's 100-Type Guanyin still remained.

What happened?

Netero squinted his eyes and retracted the 100-Type Guanyin's palm strike.

Could it be that he still can't control this power, unable to bear its cost for long?

It seems that not letting Germain attack, this rule hit the fatal weakness of his ability.

He can only use his nen beast to compete with me, who is using the 100-Type Guanyin.

Once he uses his nen beast's power, the burden he carries every moment demands that he ends the fight quickly.

Netero withdrew his hand, and the 100-Type Guanyin vanished.

He walked in front of Germain, seeing him already getting up, with the dark crown still hanging above his head.

"What is the cost of using this power?"

Germain rubbed his swollen temple, stood up, and his eyes were bloodshot.

"It's pressure. It's harmful to my mind and spirit. The dark crown you see is the manifestation of the torment from the pressure."

Whenever he uses Chaos Roar, the tormenting dark crown always appears, though it lacks traits like fear, paranoia, selfishness, or sadism.

Netero understood.

"So... what happens if this pressure keeps building up?"

"If it keeps building up, I will go insane and eventually die from mental exhaustion."

"How did you solve this problem before? You couldn't have just let the pressure torment you, right?"

"The torment from the dark crown will disappear after half an hour. As for the pressure, there are only four ways to reduce it."

Germain extended four fingers. For each method he mentioned, he retracted one finger until his hand was a fist.

"Magical Beautician Miss Cookie from Bisky, the food of the Gourmet Hunters, the cards from Greed Island, and critical strikes."

Germain's championship aura belongs to a way of reducing some pressure when it occurs, not a method to reduce pressure after it's already built up, so it wasn't counted.

Netero stroked his white beard thoughtfully.

"Bisky and the Gourmet Hunters aren't here, so the only methods you can rely on are the cards from Greed Island and critical strikes. I roughly understand the cards, but what are critical strikes?"

Germain briefly explained the definition.

Netero paused for a moment, then smiled.

"If that's the case, things will be simple."

Simple? Germain looked confused.

Netero chuckled and said:

"As long as you keep landing critical hits, you can control the pressure to a manageable level and avoid exhaustion. Isn't that right?"

"Keep landing critical hits?"

Germain pursed his lips.

It wasn't that easy.

Over the course of the past year, the number of critical hits he had landed in his different battles barely exceeded a hundred.

In key battles, the number was even less than ten.

Despite Germain having traits like a human slayer, a beast hunter, and a corruption slayer, which increased his chances of landing critical hits, they didn't make critical hits constant or reliable.

Netero's words were truly asking for the impossible, much like the rules of the game he had set.

Germain couldn't help but think of Bisky's evaluation of Netero.

"He's like that. He often gives me or my subordinates tasks that should take at least a year or more to complete, but asks for them to be done in just one or two months."

Netero's current demands were the same.

"Germain, I don't care what method you use to trigger critical hits and reduce the pressure. I'm right here, and the deadline won't change."

"You can run, you can surrender, it's up to you during this time. I will keep my word and wait until midnight on the 22nd. Only then will I announce my victory."

"Germain, make good use of your time and make your decision."

"One wrong move, and you might not even make it to the Chimera Ant battle. Either you'll die from exhaustion, or you'll leave in disgrace."

"That's my advice to you. Now, let's call it a day."

Netero turned and left.

He picked up the wooden sandals he had discarded earlier.

After putting them on, he chatted briefly with Zeno and Silva, then pointed toward Germain and said something. Afterward, he boarded the airship.
