Hunter X Hunter: I Got Stronger After I Died

Chapter 92: So You Can Exorcise Nen Too?!

For a moment, Moro didn't know what to say.

If circumstances allowed, he really wished Biscuit would just roll far away.

He hadn't expected her to notice something was off.

Age truly did come with wisdom.

Moro sighed inwardly but quickly put on a puzzled expression, just about to speak—

Biscuit's eyes widened. Before Moro could utter a word, she turned and walked away.

She had already guessed what he was going to say.

It would be something along the lines of, "Someone as cute as you…"

Normally, such words would make her delighted and proud, but coming from Moro's mouth, they felt like poison, making her entire body uncomfortable.

Moro watched as Biscuit turned and left, finally letting out a small breath of relief. Then, under the guidance of the staff, he proceeded to pay for and collect the Crimson Poultry Knife he had won at auction.

"Whether or not it absorbs nen depends on my will. Perfect."

Gripping the Crimson Poultry Knife, he felt its weight—thick and solid in his hand.

Most importantly, he didn't have to worry about his Chrono Ability automatically absorbing the nen lingering on the blade.

Although he hadn't tested it, Moro believed that a weapon imbued with nen would be even sharper. Since he intended to use it as his personal weapon, there was no way he would absorb its nen.

"Not bad at all."

Moro swung the knife experimentally, already growing fond of it.

Then, remembering his real goal, he slid the Crimson Poultry Knife into its custom sheath, made from wyvern leather.

Stowing the knife away, Moro headed straight toward Bidder No. 56.

Bidder No. 56 was an elderly man with graying hair, looking quite energetic.

Beside him stood a young man around Moro's age, with a stern expression and an air of seriousness that radiated from within.

"Hello."

Moro approached the elderly man.

The old man turned to look at him, just about to respond, but the young man beside him spoke first.

"What do you want?"

His tone was cold and unwelcoming, clearly sending the message that strangers were not welcome.

Moro glanced at the young man but ignored him, instead meeting the elder's gaze and saying solemnly:

"The executioner's blade you won carries lingering grudges of the deceased. If an ordinary person touches it, their mind and body will suffer."

"Oh? Are you an exorcist?"

The old man raised his eyelids slightly, seeming a bit surprised.

Moro's heart skipped a beat.

An exorcist…

Right, people who didn't understand nen would naturally associate phenomena caused by dead nen with spirits and ghosts.

And nen users with the ability to remove nen-related curses were often referred to as spiritualists or exorcists in their eyes.

"Yes, I am. If you don't mind, I'd like to help purify the grudge lingering on the executioner's blade."

Moro quickly went along with the assumption, fearing that the old man might refuse. To further persuade him, he added, "It's free of charge, and it won't take much of your time."

"Hm."

The old man hummed thoughtfully.

The young man beside him furrowed his brows, clearly suppressing the urge to chase Moro away.

After a moment of contemplation, the old man nodded toward Moro and said, "Very well, I'll trouble you with this task."

Hearing his grandfather's approval, the young man's eyes widened slightly in disbelief.

This guy, who looks about my age, is supposed to be an exorcist? Impossible!

The three of them moved to a guest lounge.

Soon after, with the elder's approval, the auction house delivered the executioner's blade to the room.

Now able to see it up close, Moro could feel the chilling aura radiating from the blade. Even from a distance, it was enough to make people uncomfortable.

"Please."

The old man gestured invitingly.

Although he was not a nen user, he could see grudges and spirits to some extent.

He couldn't make out details, only vague black mist-like shapes.

So when Moro mentioned the lingering grudge on the executioner's blade, he had mostly believed him.

Under the old man's watchful gaze, Moro suppressed his inner excitement, stepped forward, and placed his hand gently on the blade.

With a single thought—

The black mist surrounding the executioner's blade was instantly absorbed into the tattoo on the back of his hand.

At the same time—

Moro's mind was forcefully flooded with memories of beheadings—one after another.

Along with these came the resentment, despair, unwillingness, and rage of those who had been executed…

Yet, none of these emotions could compare to the visceral experience of being beheaded over and over again.

But for Moro, this was nothing new.

He withdrew his hand, casually glancing at the energy bar on his hand. It had increased from 26% to 34%.

Before, after exhausting himself searching for five nen-infused items at the market, he had only gained 6% energy.

Yet now, one executioner's blade with dead nen had given him 8% in an instant.

As expected, dead nen is far more potent.

A smile tugged at Moro's lips. He turned to the old man and sincerely said:

"It's done. I've purified the grudge on the executioner's blade."

In his mind, even if the old man called him a fraud and threw him out, this would still have been worth it.

But to his surprise, the old man's face showed genuine amazement.

"Incredible. This is the first time I've seen an exorcist purify a grudge so effortlessly."

The young man beside him had been about to explode with anger, but hearing his grandfather's praise, he froze.

Grandpa… what the hell?!

He's seen exorcisms before! Since when can it be done just by touching something?!

The young man was utterly shaken.

Moro, meanwhile, had been ignoring him the entire time. Instead, he looked at the old man with some curiosity and asked,

"You can see grudges?"

Only those who could see nen and spirits would be able to confirm that the purification had actually worked.

But this old man was clearly just an ordinary person…

"I can see a little," the old man admitted, nodding slowly. His gaze toward Moro now carried genuine respect. "Would you mind leaving me a way to contact you, sir?"

"Uh…"

Ten minutes later, the old man and his grandson left, taking the executioner's blade with them.

Moro remained in the lounge, a satisfied smile on his face.

This had been an unexpected bonus.

Not only had he absorbed a large amount of chrono energy for free, but the old man had also insisted on paying him 1 billion as a reward.

Even better—this old man was the curator of a private museum. He had stated that if any future objects required purification, he would contact Moro directly.

This was practically a steady source of nen-infused items delivered straight to his door.

Moro glanced at the 34% energy bar on his hand and thought, After resolving the Death Node issue, maybe I should take up this line of work.

It's easy money—and a great way to charge my ability.

The door to the lounge suddenly creaked open.

Biscuit walked in, looking him up and down with an expression of sheer curiosity.

Moro rolled his eyes for once.

This woman…

Her dramatic exit earlier had just been a diversion.

She had hidden herself to spy on him, wanting to see what he was up to.

With her level of skill, if she wanted to stay hidden, Moro wouldn't have noticed—unless she harbored real killing intent toward him.

Biscuit grinned. "So you can exorcise nen, huh? And dead nen, no less… Tsk. You look way too relaxed for that."

Moro sighed. "Not relaxed. Purging nen feels like getting beheaded ten thousand times."

Biscuit inhaled sharply. Then she looked at him like he was some kind of legendary rare creature.
