I am Giovanni

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Breaking the Wild Rhyhorn

Chapter 115: Breaking the Wild Rhyhorn

When too many people know a secret, it is no longer a secret.

"I was going to eat something," Giovanni said, looking at the surrounding corpses, "but it looks like I'll have to wait."

Though Serena Star was from a prominent family, a young lady like her wouldn't carry many items on her person. Her other Poké Balls were lost, leaving only her Pikachu, but Giovanni did manage to retrieve a Magnet from it— a priceless Electric-type item. As for Morgan, what kind of profit could a low-level pirate have? His real target had already been snatched by Giovanni.

"Bring the corpses of the Farfetch'd, the Kingler, and a few of the Pidgey," he instructed his Machoke, who was clearly good at manual labor. "They'll serve as emergency rations." The Machoke didn't complain and immediately picked them all up.

Giovanni then took out a Poké Ball, unlocked it, and released the Rhyhorn he had just captured. As soon as it was out, it looked at him with bloodshot eyes, let out a low growl, and charged, wanting to smash him to pieces.

Giovanni watched it coldly, neither dodging nor evading. He simply waved his hand at his Beedrill. It swooped down and, with a powerful Assurance, knocked the unprepared Rhyhorn to the ground. Though it wailed, it showed no sign of backing down. It struggled back up, its eyes fixed on Giovanni, as if it intended to kill him.

"Continue," Giovanni instructed Beedrill, not being lenient. "Let it know who the master is."

Beedrill nodded, flew down, and continuously swung its twin stingers, using Fury Attack. Its stingers blurred, raining down on the Rhyhorn like a storm. The Rhyhorn screamed as its tough hide was pierced and crimson blood flowed, but it still looked defiant, its gaze becoming even more resentful.

It's quite stubborn, Giovanni thought. He snorted coldly. "I want to see how stubborn you can be." He had read books on taming Rhyhorn at the base and knew they had foul, stubborn tempers, requiring a slow, step-by-step conquest.

He was in no hurry. This Rhyhorn had good potential, and he was determined to have it. The first step was to defeat it, which he had already accomplished. Now it was time for the second step: taming it.

He took two steps forward, signaling Beedrill to retreat. When the Rhyhorn raised its head to gore him, Giovanni flipped and gracefully got onto its back. He placed his feet on the protrusions on its legs like stirrups, stabilized himself, and firmly gripped its spine.

Since there was no saddle, he could only stand, placing his feet in the grooves on either side of its body. Fortunately, he had ridden horses in his previous life and had a good sense of balance.

Just as he stabilized himself, the uncomfortable Rhyhorn, despite its significant injuries, struggled to stand up. It twisted its head back and forth but couldn't reach him. Like a maddened bull, it began to sway back and forth, constantly jumping, trying to throw him off.

After half a year of training, coupled with the boost from the power of Viridian and the Machoke's guidance, Giovanni's physical fitness had surpassed that of an average martial artist. His powerful legs clamped onto the Rhyhorn like iron pincers. No matter how it shook, he simply went with its movements, clinging to its body like a plaster.

"Hmph!" the Rhyhorn roared. Seeing that it couldn't shake him off, it suddenly charged.

"Follow!" Giovanni shouted to the four Pokémon behind him. He then wholeheartedly began to tame the Rhyhorn.

To shake him off, it forcibly used Horn Attack, continuously crashing into trees, knocking them all down. Wood chips and splashing dirt constantly hit Giovanni, and some sharp pieces pierced his skin. However, this did not make him flinch; instead, it made him even more excited. He held onto its back armor with one hand and slammed his fist into its body with the other. "Run! Keep going!"

The Rhyhorn charged even more frantically, darting and crashing through the jungle, creating quite a commotion.

Mars, who had just landed on the island, looked at the large amount of smoke and dust in the depths of the jungle and heard the sound of falling trees. "What's going on there?" he asked with some confusion.

"Could it be the Boss's doing?" Archer said, patting his wary Arbok and frowning slightly. They still had to go and check.

The commotion was not small. It was likely that anyone who had landed on the island would be heading in that direction. And indeed, everyone was.

The closest was a middle-aged man in a tuxedo, who was also in a disheveled state. "You brat, hurry up and follow!" he snarled. "If I didn't need someone to serve the young lady, I would kill you right now and send you to meet your companion!"

Behind him, a scrawny young man was being watched by a Mightyena, his eyes vacant, forced to move forward. It was Surge, the unlucky fellow.

"Young Lady," he murmured, looking into the depths of the jungle, "please don't let anything happen to you. Or I, Lt. Surge, won't probably live to see tomorrow."

Boom!

One tree after another fell in front of them.

"What's going on?" the butler looked ahead with some confusion, his heart pounding. He raised his hand to release his own Pokémon. He had originally thought he would be safe and sound.

But when a seemingly maddened Rhyhorn suddenly broke a tree and burst out, he was completely dumbfounded. His several Pokémon were, without exception, directly sent flying by the rampaging beast. One was even pinned under its hooves, constantly trampled into a pulp.

The butler looked at the mad Rhyhorn with horror.

Coincidentally, his gaze met a pair of dark, cold eyes.
