I am Giovanni

Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Beedrill's Wrath

Chapter 63: Beedrill's Wrath

Facing the Raticate's attack, Giovanni simply moved aside. Behind him, his Beedrill's insectoid eyes glowed with a furious, crimson killing intent, and it instantly flew out.

Giovanni had almost been attacked. Beedrill was already enraged. Now that this creature dared to make another move, Beedrill wanted nothing more than to tear it into a thousand pieces. This one isn't a target. It doesn't need to live.

Filled with raging anger, Beedrill charged, its speed like lightning. Its twin stingers drew arcs of silver in the air, each swing accompanied by a sharp whoosh. The Raticate was not to be outdone. It opened its large mouth, revealing its sharp front teeth, ready to meet the attack head-on.

But Beedrill's speed far exceeded its imagination. In the blink of an eye, it was there, its twin stingers striking at the Raticate's vital points like bolts of lightning.

As the local bully, this Raticate was an experienced fighter. Though startled, it didn't back down. It barely managed to twist its body, dodging the fatal blow, but a deep gash was still torn open on its side, blood staining its coarse fur.

The pain only stimulated the Raticate's ferocity. It let out an angry roar and lunged at Beedrill again.

"BZZZT!" Beedrill let out a sharp hiss. Relying on its superior reach, its twin stingers simultaneously thrust out, precisely piercing both of the Raticate's eyes.

The Raticate let out a miserable shriek. Blinded and in extreme pain, it lost its balance and collapsed. The sudden darkness finally made it afraid. It frantically scrambled to its feet.

As a level twenty-something Pokémon, its vitality was tenacious. Though it was blind, its sense of smell remained. It turned and fled wildly, even using Quick Attack.

But how could the enraged Beedrill let it escape? It had dared to lay a hand on Giovanni. It had to pay a bloody price. With Beedrill here, no one could touch a single hair on its master.

It pursued relentlessly, its wings flapping to create a powerful gust, instantly closing the distance. Its eyes were fixed on the Raticate's panicked figure, as if it were enjoying the thrill of the hunt.

Soon, Beedrill attacked again. Its figure flickered as it unleashed a volley of Poison Stings. Though blind, the Raticate's keen survival instincts sensed the approaching danger. It tried its best to dodge, but the range of the attack was too wide. It could only watch helplessly as the deadly needles came closer.

Pfft! The Poison Stings accurately pierced its body, instantly releasing potent toxins. The Raticate let out a mournful shriek, its body trembling violently. Beedrill's attack did not stop there. The moment the poison hit, it lunged forward again, its twin stingers transforming into sharp blades, drawing brilliant trajectories in the air—Fury Cutter.

Swish, swish, swish!

The air seemed to be cut apart. Under the relentless assault, the Raticate's body was instantly cut into several pieces. Blood gushed out, staining the surrounding ground. Its empty eyes gazed up at the sky, looking somewhat desolate.

Beedrill gently shook its twin stingers, flinging drops of blood to the ground. The killing intent in its eyes dissipated somewhat, and it flew back to Giovanni's side.

"Your temper..." Giovanni shook his head helplessly. "This was a perfectly good Raticate. Just gone like that."

Beedrill gently lifted its head, as if to say, I don't care. No one can touch you. Whoever does, dies.

Giovanni had no choice. His good son, of course, had to be doted on. "Oh, you. Do as you please." He looked at the Raticate's corpse, then casually released one of the Rattata he had just caught. Pokémon that live in large groups like this always have a den, and where there's a den, there's usually a stash of something useful.

He waved his hand. Beedrill, Nidorino, and Machop surrounded the pitiful Rattata, which was now so scared it nearly passed out.

"Go," Giovanni said patiently, pointing at the Raticate's remains. "Lead me to your den. Don't try any tricks. Your freedom is in my hands. If you dare to deceive me... that will be your fate."

The Rattata looked at its leader's tragic state and immediately wet itself in fear. Beedrill and Nidorino's eerie smiles were even more terrifying than a Ghost-type's Scary Face. It was about to play dead, hoping to trick him.

"If you want to play dead," Giovanni said with a cold smile, "then I'll just feed you to my Nidorino." The Nidorino cooperated by opening its mouth and smacking its lips. The Rattata, which had been preparing to fall, quickly scrambled up and shook its head repeatedly, so anxious it almost did a backflip.

"So," Giovanni continued, "did you understand what I said?" The Rattata nodded frantically. "Follow it," he said to Beedrill. "If it tries to run, kill it. Tear it into pieces if you want."

"Bzzzzt," Beedrill buzzed, its agreement clear. The Rattata cast a resentful and fearful glance at Giovanni. I understand! There was no need to be so cruel!

Beedrill gently poked it. "Bzzt." The Rattata quickly started moving, walking a few steps, then smiling nervously at the Beedrill, terrified of being impaled.

Giovanni strolled leisurely behind, with Machop and Nidorino following. The Rattata didn't dare to deceive him. It soon led him to a large tree and pointed at a tree hole covered by bark, letting out a fawning cry.

"Is that it?" Giovanni asked— but as he spoke, he glanced elsewhere, raised an eyebrow, and gave his Nidorino a look. Machop's brain was a bit slow, but the Nidorino was very shrewd.

It instantly understood Giovanni's meaning and leisurely walked to one side.
