Chapter 31: The Second Hongmeng Purple Qi Condensed by the Gate to the Primordial World

The Primordial World, vast and unyielding, had witnessed countless upheavals, each shaping its intricate balance. Only monumental events like Pangu splitting the heavens or preventing the world’s destruction could condense the rarest of energies: Heavenly Dao Merit. Even then, such merit held limited value for those at the Daluo-level, let alone the Sages who stood atop the cosmos.

At the peak of power, concepts like fate, karma, and fortune ceased to hold sway. Beings at this level were unaffected by the constraints of cause and effect or the passage of time. For the Six Sages, the world of mortals, its struggles, and its triumphs were mere ripples in an unfathomable ocean.

Their only concern was preserving the reputation of their doctrines. Each Sage’s sect represented not only their legacy but their Dao, the very essence of their existence. A loss of influence for their sect was tantamount to an attack on their beliefs—a challenge that no Sage would tolerate.

For those below the Sage level, the Primordial World was a battleground of opportunities. To unify the Primordial World and control its immense fate and resources could elevate a being to Sagehood. The ongoing struggle between the Wu Clan and the Yao Clan was rooted in this ambition, each vying for dominance in the hopes that their leaders—whether Emperor Jun or an Ancestral Witch—could ascend.

However, the Six Sages would never allow another to join their ranks. The fall of the Wu and Yao Clans was inevitable, orchestrated to ensure no new Sage would disrupt the delicate balance of the Primordial World.

In the aftermath of his confrontation with the Yao Clan, Xia Tian returned to the Human Sacred Temple, where he felt a subtle vibration from the Gate to the Primordial World. Anticipation surged within him as he realised the gate had absorbed the residual energy from his actions, potentially condensing another Hongmeng Purple Qi.

Entering the Hetu and Luoshu, Xia Tian meditated before the gate. A resonant hum filled his mind as the gate opened, releasing a burst of dazzling purple light. Threads of time, countless timelines, and infinite Daos wove together, forming a shimmering flow of energy that descended upon Xia Tian.

“This is it,” Xia Tian murmured, staring at the vibrant stream of energy. The profound Hongmeng Purple Qi, unmatched in its essence, hovered above him.

Xia Tian hesitated. Merging with the Hongmeng Purple Qi would grant him an immediate ascension. At a minimum, he would become an Innate Dao Lord, if not a Daluo Dao Ancestor. Yet, this leap carried risks.

Innate Dao Lord: Advancing to this level would align with his current trajectory. His recent achievements and lineage as the Crown Prince of the Yao Clan justified such progress, raising no undue suspicion.

Daluo Dao Ancestor: Reaching this pinnacle would arouse significant scrutiny. A jump from Golden Immortalto Daluo was unheard of, even for a member of the Golden Crow lineage. The sudden rise would attract the attention of cosmic powers, including the Six Sages, jeopardising his plans.

Xia Tian weighed his options. “Patience is key,” he thought. “Rushing to the Daluo level may bring temporary strength but could also draw dangers I’m unprepared for.”

Determined to strike a balance, Xia Tian resolved to harness the Hongmeng Purple Qi to reach the Innate Dao Lord stage while preserving its full potential for later use. This approach would solidify his foundation and keep his sudden advancement within the bounds of reason.

As the Hongmeng Purple Qi settled upon Xia Tian, the Primordial World rippled subtly. The power emanating from him did not go unnoticed. Lesser deities marvelled at the transformation, while the Wu Clan, Yao Clan, and several great powers turned their attention toward him.

Among the Six Sages, only Zhunti and Jieyin paid close attention, intrigued by the disruption Xia Tian represented. However, even they deemed his rise as minor, failing to foresee the full extent of his potential.
