Chapter 241: Chapter 237: Even i Isn’t *This* Wild, Right?

"Stop that motorcycle up ahead! Pull over now!"

The blaring siren mixed with a furious woman's roar echoed from behind.

Fujino glanced up, catching sight of a patrol car in his rearview mirror. Its red lights flashed aggressively, tailing his bike like a stubborn shadow.

"Did I just get clocked by the traffic cops?" he muttered.

He flicked his eyes down to the speedometer.

**[190 km/h]**

This bike's top speed was 220 km/h. With his veteran driver skills kicking in, he could probably push it to 260. Normally, he was already flirting with the limit at this pace.

"If this speed still isn't enough…" Fujino murmured to himself, activating his *Veteran Driver Overclock*.

**[Overclock activated: Boosting host's speed by 50%]**

**[Speed increased to 285 km/h]**

**[Please stay safe!]**

A flurry of system alerts pinged in his ears.

*VROOM!* In an instant, the motorcycle's engine roared like it was about to explode, the exhaust spitting out bursts of flame.

The next second, the pitch-black bike shot forward like a bolt of lightning. The moment overclock kicked in, Fujino felt a wicked jolt of recoil slam into him. The world blurred for a split second before sharpening again.

He could see everything clearly now.

Twisting the throttle harder, the bike surged ahead at an insane, physics-defying pace.

Until finally, it hit **[300 km/h]**.

"Yumi! Slow down, quick!"

The female cop in the passenger seat glanced at the speedometer and yelled, "We're already at 180 km/h!"

Miyamoto Yumi stared at the fading red streak ahead, the taillight growing smaller in the distance. Realizing the chase was pointless, she eased off the gas.

"If I didn't just hallucinate…" the female cop blinked, "that bike sped up by at least 50 km/h in a *second*."

"No," Yumi said, dazed, staring at the street where the motorcycle vanished. "In that instant, it jumped by at least 90 km/h."

Silence fell over the car.

---

**[Congrats, host! You've shaken off the cops. Rewarding 30 Driver Proficiency Points]**

**[Current Proficiency: 470/500]**

The motorcycle kept tearing through the night at an unreal speed. On the quiet streets, only a streak of red light trailed behind.

For a normal person, this kind of velocity would've ended in a fiery wreck ages ago. But Fujino? He wasn't normal.

Even at this speed, controlling the bike was a nightmare. Yet, with his heightened senses, lightning-fast reflexes, raw strength, and veteran driver skills all stacked together, Fujino dodged cars and pedestrians like it was nothing.

At the Peace Bus Company HQ…

*VROOM!*

A distant rumble grew louder by the second. Ran looked up, spotting a motorcycle barreling toward her.

It was stupidly fast—its red taillight carving a gorgeous line through the dim night. Then, sparks flew as the tires screeched against the pavement, the brake pads glowing red-hot.

The bike slowed, pulling a slick sideways drift. With a sharp squeal and a black skid mark etched into the road, it came to a perfect stop right in front of Ran.

The rider flipped up his visor, revealing a familiar face.

"Fujino-senpai… Sonoko, she…" Ran stood alone under the streetlight, guilt and regret washing over her. "If I hadn't insisted on coming here to find that old man, Sonoko wouldn't have…"

"Hey, no crying, okay?"

Fujino pulled a handkerchief from his inventory and handed it to her. "Do you have any clues about where those guys took Sonoko?"

"Yeah," Ran said, taking the handkerchief and wiping her tears. She pointed to a nearby road. "I overheard a janitor who saw it happen. He said the car that took Sonoko headed that way."

"You stay here and wait for the police."

Fujino narrowed his eyes in the direction she pointed. "I'm going after them."

With that, he revved the throttle. The engine roared to life, and the bike tore off down the dark highway.

"Fujino-senpai, please save Sonoko!" Ran shouted, waving the handkerchief at the disappearing bike.

*BOOM!*

Fujino's motorcycle blasted past a speeding taxi.

"Holy crap!"

The taxi driver gawked at the red streak zipping by, yelling in total shock.

**"Fujino?! He's here too?!"**

Sitting in the backseat of a taxi, Conan finally got a clear look at the shadowy figure from earlier.

That familiar black motorcycle—it was the one Fujino often rode.

**"How is that guy so fast?"**

Without thinking too much, Conan shouted at the driver, **"Follow that motorcycle, quickly!"**

His eyes flickered as he watched the red taillight swaying in front of him.

If it really was Fujino… then maybe—

Meanwhile, Fujino rode his motorcycle at high speed, activating his **Hawkeye** ability, scanning the area around him.

But even with his enhanced vision, there was no sign of Sonoko.

**"Looks like she's already been taken farther away?"**

Fujino let out a sigh, reaching into his inventory to pull out a cigar labeled **White Wolf**. He lit it.

As the smoke curled upward, it coalesced into the shape of a young woman with wolf-like features.

**"My master! Command me!"**

The **anthropomorphized White Wolf** floated beside him, keeping pace with his motorcycle.

**"Find Suzuki Sonoko for me."**

**"Understood!"**

The wolf girl nodded, closed her eyes, and lifted her head slightly. Her nose twitched as she sniffed the air.

In just a few seconds, she had an answer. **"Not far from here! Follow me!"**

With that, she shot forward through the air, racing toward the left side of the road ahead.

Fujino followed her, weaving his way to an area filled with warehouses.

Bringing his motorcycle to a steady stop, he dismounted and scanned the surroundings with **Hawkeye** once more.

Soon, he detected **four life signs** inside one of the warehouses.

One of them had a build almost identical to Sonoko's.

**"So it's here, huh?"**

Fujino narrowed his eyes. He reached behind his back, pulled out a wooden sword, and slowly approached the warehouse entrance.

There was a small gap beneath the roll-up door, allowing a faint sliver of light to escape.

**But the gap was too small to slip through.**

With his strength, he could probably force his way in.

**But if he did, the two kidnappers inside might take the hostages as human shields.**

It would be better to **break in from above**…

**"Fujino-pigeon."**

Just as he was contemplating his next move, a childish voice sounded from behind him.

Fujino frowned and turned to see **Conan**, standing there in his usual blue suit.

**"When did you start following me?"**

He narrowed his eyes. **This brat… moves like a damn ghost.**

Conan grinned innocently. **"I saw your motorcycle earlier, so I decided to tag along!"**

Then, he turned his gaze to the sign above the warehouse entrance, reading the words aloud:

**"Ryujin Economic Research Institute."**

He paused for a moment, then deliberately put on an expression of exaggerated confusion. **"How strange… I think I saw this name on a floppy disk in Ran's pocket earlier. Could it be that Sonoko was kidnapped and brought here?"**

Fujino: **"..."**

**This kid…**

He's **acting** again.

To a normal person, Conan's remark wouldn't seem out of place.

But **Fujino knew this 'kid' was actually a high schooler**, so this whole performance made his scalp tingle.

Since Fujino didn't respond, Conan crouched down by the door's gap and examined it. **"I already checked around—this is the only entrance. If it were me…"**

**"Actually, there's another way in."**

Fujino interrupted, lifting his gaze toward the warehouse roof.

**"Another entrance?"**

Conan followed his gaze, then hesitated before asking, **"Wait… you're not thinking of going in through the roof, are you?"**

**"Pretty much."**

Fujino hummed in agreement, then started unbuttoning his suit jacket. **"Actually, I'm going to jump up there."**

**"Quit joking around. That's at least five meters high. No normal person could—"**

Conan thought Fujino was messing with him.

But when he turned to look, his words **died in his throat**.

Underneath Fujino's suit was a black **weighted vest**, packed tightly with lead weights.

Not just his vest—**his arms and legs were covered in them too.**

**Clank. Clank. Clank.**

One by one, the weights hit the ground, making dull, heavy thuds.

**"If one of those hit someone, they'd be dead on the spot…"**

Conan took a few quick steps back, just in case.

Then he looked down at the lead blocks on the ground and swallowed hard.

**This guy… has been carrying all this weight the whole time?!**

Fujino rolled his shoulders. **"Much lighter now."**

He glanced at the rooftop. **"This distance should be doable."**

After months of **consistent stat upgrades**, his max jump height was now **over three meters**.

Plus, with all the weight training he'd been doing recently, he should be able to clear even more.

**If he combined his detective buffs with a system power-up card… he should be able to make it.**

Reaching into his pocket, he **crushed a high-level strength enhancement card.**

A series of system messages rang in his ears:

> **[High-Level Strength Enhancement Card activated! Strength increased by 200%! Duration: 10 minutes…]**

> **[Detective Buff activated! Physical ability increased by 225%! Duration: 8 minutes…]**

Fujino bent his knees, channeling all his strength into his legs.

**Boom!**

With a powerful launch, **he shot upward toward the warehouse roof.**

At the last second, he reached out, grabbed the edge, and **hauled himself up.**

**"…He actually made it?"**

Conan twitched slightly, staring in disbelief.

**"That was a full five meters… What is this, a human-shaped Siberian tiger?"**

He muttered, **"Even Ran isn't that crazy…"**

**"This guy is getting more and more ridiculous."**

Shaking his head, Conan sighed.

He wasn't as overpowered as Fujino.

He'd just have to **go in through the main entrance.**

**Why did that feel so lame?**

With a sigh, Conan **crawled under the door gap** and slipped inside.

---

**Meanwhile, on the warehouse roof.**

Fujino crouched, scanning the situation below with **Hawkeye Vision**.

The targets were in a **break room inside the warehouse**.

There were **two kidnappers** near the window.

Sonoko and an **old man**—the one Ran had mentioned—were sitting on the couch.

**"White Wolf."**

Fujino beckoned.

**"My master?"**

The wolf girl materialized behind him.

**"Stay here."**

Fujino pulled a **red rope** from his inventory and handed it to her.

**"Hold on tight."**

**"Understood! No matter what happens, I won't let go!"**

She gripped the rope firmly.

Fujino nodded. **"I'm counting on you."**

With that, he gripped the rope in his left hand, holding his wooden sword in his right.

Then, he found his target—**the office window below.**

**And jumped.**

His body **cut through the night air** in a graceful arc.

His wooden sword **smashed through the glass** on impact.

Fujino landed smoothly inside, **locking eyes with the two kidnappers.**

In a flash, **he lashed out with a kick.**

**BAM!**

One kidnapper was instantly knocked out, crashing into the other.

The scrawny kidnapper, pinned under his unconscious partner, panicked.

Scrambling free, he pulled a **spring knife** from his pocket and **lunged at Fujino.**

Fujino's eyes narrowed.

As the knife gleamed under the light, he **lowered his stance, shifting his wooden sword to his left side.**

Then—**the moment the kidnapper got close—**

He **swung his sword.**
