I Ascend to the Divine Throne through Arcane Means

Chapter 649: Lizardman Hero Jasper (Part 2)

When the other Lizardmen saw him, they invariably showed expressions of awe and longing.

Their eyes were filled with adoration and admiration for this powerful Lizardman.

The children hid behind their parents, secretly peeking at this legendary figure in the tribe, sowing the seeds of yearning for strength in their hearts.

The adult Lizardmen nodded to him, swaying their tails to tap on the ground.

Expressing their respect and reverence for this strong man in their own way.

Jasper nodded in response to the greetings of others.

The Lizardman Tribe was one of the strongest tribes in the Great Forest, with the newly emerged hero, life was naturally quite good.

All the Lizardmen of the Water Snake Tribe looked forward to Jasper leading them to rise up.

At this moment, someone jokingly said to Jasper:

"Jasper, seeing everyone like this, why not let you be the clan leader of the Water Snake Tribe!"

"Just right since you want to lead everyone to expand the territory, right?"

Jasper looked back, smiling and said:

"Brother Ymir, I've said it many times, you're the clan leader, and you will always be the clan leader!"

"I just want everyone to live better."

"You, huh?"

"Obviously a good thing, really don't understand why you're so unwilling."

Ymir looked at Jasper, shaking his head helplessly.

The two were brothers, hatched from the same clutch of eggs, naturally he knew his younger brother's excellence very well.

If Jasper hadn't proactively left the tribe to train in the Isaac Great Forest, Jasper would inevitably be the tribe leader.

To Ymir, while being the tribe leader was important, Jasper leading the tribe to prosperity mattered even more.

After all, Jasper was the first hero to appear since the ancestor who founded the Water Snake Tribe!

Everyone regarded Jasper as the hope of the Water Snake Tribe!

"Brother, how's 'that' preparation going?"

Jasper tossed a few dried fish to Ymir, smiling as he asked.

It wasn't about politeness between him and Ymir, he genuinely didn't care much for the tribe leader position.

For him, those days of traveling the world were the most wonderful and joyful, encountering many dangers but also growing stronger, ultimately achieving hero status!

Returning to the tribe and conquering Isaac Great Forest was merely fulfilling his childhood wish—to become a hero and lead the tribe to the throne of Isaac Great Forest.

After accomplishing all of this, he didn't want to stay in the tribe.

The "hero" staying in the tribe would only bring boredom, whereas the rest of the world held more allure for him.

After all, with his strength, there was nothing in Isaac Great Forest that could threaten his existence.

"The blueprint you brought back is pretty good, with a few changes it can be used in the river."

Ymir tossed the dried fish into his mouth, speaking while chewing:

"Now we have some time, why don't you come with me to take a look!"

Jasper thought for a moment, curiosity piqued, and since he wasn't in a hurry for daily training, he followed Ymir towards the river mouth.

On the wide and fine sandbank at the river mouth, the tide gently washed against the shore, carrying a moisture-laden breeze.

On the right sandbank, a simple wooden scaffold stood prominently, somewhat incongruous with the surrounding natural scenery.

These wooden scaffolds were made from sturdy logs, appearing rough but extraordinarily stable, supporting the Lizardmen moving up and down.

In the middle of the scaffolding, a proper-looking wooden boat was gradually taking shape.

The hull was already taking form, with long wooden planks cleverly joined together, each meticulously polished and selected to ensure the sturdiness and durability of the boat.

In this bustling construction site, Lizardmen were wielding all sorts of tools, darting around to inspect various parts of the boat.

Ting ting tang ting ~

Some Lizardmen wielded hammers and saws, diligently busy without noticing the arrival of Ymir and Jasper.

"Looks good, huh."

Jasper glanced up and down, nodding as he said:

"Has it been in the water?"

"It has been in the water... lasted for a short time before sinking."

Ymir swayed his tail, smiling as he said.

"Why are you so happy even when the boat sank?"

Jasper looked at his elder brother curiously.

The blueprint for this wooden boat was obtained from a Human tribe, brought back specifically for Ymir to attempt construction.

The Human tribe he encountered invented this "large wooden boat" to venture further into the ocean for fishing.

Among the Isaac Great Forest, Lizardmen rarely traveled by boat, as most were adept swimmers.

Moreover, the winding rivers of the forest weren't suited to boat travel, and previously Lizardmen had only crafted canoes for use.

But Jasper had different ideas.

To him, as a hero of the tribe, he should conquer the entire Isaac Great Forest, like the legendary figures in stories.

Though most rivers in Isaac Great Forest weren't suitable for large wooden boats, the Uran River that almost split Isaac Great Forest in two was different.

The Uran River was so wide that it was difficult to see the opposite shore, resembling the ocean for races living in the forest.

Jasper aimed to conquer the entire Isaac Great Forest, naturally needing to resolve this problem.

On the Uran River, this Human-created wooden boat could be quite useful.

This was a solution Jasper realized as he observed Humans navigate wooden boats.

To Jasper, the Uran River wasn't much of an obstacle, but for his tribesmen, it was akin to an insurmountable barrier.

Even the most adept swimming Lizardmen dared not attempt crossing the abundant and swift waters of the Uran River lightly.

"Though the boat sank, it was because everyone was unfamiliar with it, many places weren't done properly causing it."

"This boat is a good thing, even if not used for combat, it can significantly ease transport."

Ymir smiled as he spoke to Jasper.

"I see, indeed."

Jasper nodded upon hearing this, hadn't really considered it.

As the leader of the Water Snake Tribe, Ymir naturally knew all the tribe's affairs thoroughly.

Seeing this large boat navigate smoothly with all the Lizardman Craftsmen in the big river, its additional significance became clear.

Of course, the boat might've also sunk because the Lizardmen got too excited and dismantled it accidentally.

But, out with the old, in with the new!

They could build the first one, then a second one.

And the second would certainly be better!

"By the way, where did you get this blueprint?"

Ymir looked at Jasper with curiosity.

Previously, due to excitement over his brother's hero achievement, he didn't pay attention to these matters.

A hero, even if it's just a toy, the Water Snake Tribe would strive to satisfy Jasper.

After all, the shape of this boat was quite novel compared to the tribe's previous canoes.

But now, after seeing its distinctiveness, Ymir grew excited.

"Got it from a tribe called the Humans."

Jasper thought for a moment, then said:

"They live by the sea east of the forest, similar in size to us but quite unattractive."

"Yet their hands are nimble, creating a lot of interesting gadgets."

"I'm thinking once we conquer the entire forest, we'll make them our vassal tribe, they should be useful."

"As long as they're useful, looking ugly isn't important."

Ymir waved his hand, laughing as he said:

"Okay, you've piqued my interest, we'll take a look together at that time."

As the two brothers laughed and looked toward a bright future, several figures suddenly emerged from the river channel nearby.

They immediately spotted Jasper and others at the sandbank, exclaiming:

"Whoa, what big lizards!"

"Unbelievable, lizards can build boats now!"

"Ignorant, that's Lizardman, okay! They're also a race of wisdom!"

"We've finally met natives, should we communicate according to Floating City's mission requirements?"

"I think that's a bad idea, they seem quite strong."

"Coward, go home and drink milk, stop playing games!"

...

And Jasper had already noticed this group hopping around, even starting to fight, feeling somewhat dumbfounded.

These... are they still the Humans I know?
