I Became A Flashing Genius At The Magic Academy

Chapter 339: Special Bloodline (1)

<template id="B:0"></template>

In the novel, Do Not Love the Unfortunate Princess, there was a scene where the protagonist, Eisel, embarked on a ski trip with the male leads.

It was said to have taken place during the second semester of her second year, nearing the story’s conclusion. At the time, the world was in turmoil due to the dark mages, and Flame had clearly thought, ‘Why is the protagonist leisurely skiing while the world is falling apart?’

‘Well, that was then.’

Now, it was winter break of their first year, and Eisel had arrived at the ski resort a year earlier than the original timeline, all thanks to Flame’s intervention.

Even while Baek Yu-Seol was unconscious, Flame had tirelessly worked to fulfill her responsibilities, and this ski trip was one of those efforts.

Her purpose?

To unveil the truth of Grand Duk Morph’s death to Eisel.

In the novel, Eisel discovered this during the ski trip in her second year, but...

Would knowing it a year earlier really change anything?

After all, the plot had already strayed far from the original script the moment Baek Yu-Seol appeared.

So, the only choice now was to use every opportunity to help Eisel in whatever way possible.

***

“Flame, do you know how to ski?”

“Huh? Of course I do.”

“Seriously? I’ve never skied before.”

“I’ve been skiing since I was little. My parents used to take me.”

“Wow, really? Isn’t it a hobby only nobles do?”

“That’s nonsense. Commoners come here a lot too. You just never had the chance to go.”

Just as Flame said, skiing in Aether World was a popular winter pastime, much like it was in modern-day Korea.

The resorts near the slopes were outrageously expensive, but a short carriage ride to the nearby town offered plenty of affordable lodging.

As the train emerged from a long tunnel, the girls let out gasps of wonder at the breathtaking scenery that came into view.

“Wow! That’s the Blue Dragon Ski Resort.”

“It’s beautiful...”

The Blue Dragon Ski Resort.

The words Blue Dragon glowed in neon blue at the peak of the snow-covered mountain, giving off a mystical vibe.

Dozens of ‘lift balls’ floated through the air, and the excited screams of skilled skiers experiencing zero-gravity skiing seemed to echo around them.

‘It’s really similar to Earth.’

Aside from the magical touches, it was almost identical to a modern ski resort.

The most noticeable difference was the absence of traditional gondolas or ski lifts.

Instead, the floating lift balls were encased in magical shields, equipped with a unique cold-protection system exclusive to Blue Dragon Ski Resort.

Though the shields lacked shock absorption, they were highly effective at retaining heat.

Even the absence of visible cables holding the lifts added a distinctly magical feel.

Invisible magic threads likely held the lifts in place.

‘... I guess I’ve fully adapted to this magical world.’

Once, she might have stood in awe at such a sight, but now she found herself instinctively analyzing the magic instead of simply marveling at it.

“This is my first time skiing, so I’m really excited.”

“Me too.”

“I only tried skiing once last year... Do you think I’ll do okay this time?”

“Eisel, aren’t you nervous? It’s your first time at a ski resort, right?”

Eisel, who had been staring blankly at the snow-covered slopes of the ski resort, blinked her blue eyes.

“I’ve never skied before... But I feel like I’ll be able to do well.”

“Well, you do have the [Versatility] trait, Eisel. You’re good at anything once you learn it.”

“I’m so jealous~ I don’t even have a single special trait like that.”

“It’s not like that...”

Eisel was likely still practicing her unique magic—an ability she had been diligently practicing of late.

‘Invocation of the Ice Sanctuary.’

It was a secret technique passed down in the Morph family, capable of turning an entire area into her domain.

But the technique was incomplete.

Even within her perfectly frozen sanctuary, Eisel herself had difficulty moving freely.

According to Flame, the Eisel in the novel practiced sliding on ice to master her magic.

This Eisel was likely doing the same now.

Given how skiing and her magic shared similar mechanics, it was no wonder she wasn’t particularly anxious.

As the train arrived near the ski resort, the girls quickly disembarked.

Despite the frigid weather, the area bustled with excitement, brimming with people eager to hit the slopes.

“Let’s go right away!”

“I don’t even need to eat. Let’s hit the slopes!”

“Me too. I just want to start skiing already.”

While some of their friends were already growing restless, there were still preparations to take care of first.

“We need to check into our reserved lodging first and rent the ski equipment.”

“Oh... Right.”

“So, what are you guys going to ride? Are we all skiing?”

“Yeah. Is there anything else to ride?”

“I’m going to snowboard.”

Flame was the only one in the group who preferred snowboarding over skiing.

Even though she hadn’t skied once since being reincarnated into Aether World, she had been an athletic girl who loved snowboarding in her previous life.

“Wow... Snowboarding? Isn’t that something only skiing experts do?”

Flame couldn’t help but laugh at the comment.

“Skiing experts would just stick to skiing.”

“Oh, really?”

“Anyway, let’s hurry up.”

Checking into the lodge and renting ski equipment went smoothly and without trouble. However, by the time they finished, it was already late, and they only managed to enter the ski resort after having dinner.

Once inside, another stretch of time was spent teaching the first-timers how to handle their equipment. Despite the delay, Flame didn’t mind.

In fact, she enjoyed it.

Now that Baek Yu-Seol was awake, the lingering weight of anxiety had lifted from her shoulders, leaving her heart much lighter.

When she had first left him behind at the academy to come to the ski resort, unease had gnawed at her, making parting ways feel reluctant and burdensome.

But now, simply traveling with friends and creating moments to cherish brought her genuine happiness.

But now, simply traveling with friends and making memories felt like a source of happiness.

After grabbing hotdogs as snacks, the group finally boarded a lift ball and began their ride up the mountain.

The Blue Dragon Ski Resort had a unique design—its beginner slopes extended high up the mountain, leading to a massive lodge at the summit.

This lodge doubled as a rest area, where visitors could relax, enjoy coffee, or even cook ramen.

It was also renowned for its observation deck, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

“Should we go up there and take some pictures?”

“Yes!”

Taking pictures, one of the most predictable yet essential activities for teenage girls on any trip.

Not necessarily to preserve memories... but mainly to show off later.

On the observation deck, icy winds howled sharply, cutting through the air like blades. But for the elite mage girls, shielded by protective magic, the cold was barely noticeable.

Meanwhile, ordinary tourists shivered, bundled tightly in thick coats and scarves, unable to ignore the sharp chill. They stole glances at the girls, who stood unbothered by the freezing gusts, their hair untouched by the wind as they posed dramatically for pictures.

“Mom, look at those girls. They’re amazing.”

“They must be mages.”

Though magic was fairly common in this world, mages of their age and caliber were rare enough to draw attention.

Whether the girls noticed the stares or simply ignored them, they carried on without pause, striking one pose after another and capturing endless snapshots.

Eventually, Flame wandered to the edge of the deck and gasped without realizing it.

“Wow...”

The sight was so stunning that her reaction felt involuntary.

Modern Earth’s natural beauty had always captivated her, but the magical elegance of Aether’s landscapes transcended anything she had ever seen.

Jagged, snow-capped peaks surrounded them, forming a fortress of white, but it was the scene beyond that took her breath away.

Floating in the distance was an inverted mountain, suspended in mid-air as though cradled by the heavens themselves.

It loomed high, rooted not in the earth but seemingly within the clouds, which swirled around its base like a protective veil, unable to drift away.

“That’s Reverse Mountain...”

“It’s called the ‘Illa Jeriden Reverse Mountain.’ I heard it’s one of the five largest Reverse Mountains in the world.”

“That’s amazing.”

“How does it even stay afloat with that weight?”

“Well, they haven’t figured out the cause yet. That’s why it’s even more intriguing.”

Eisel’s eyes gleamed as she gazed at Illa Jeriden Mountain, her curiosity about magic burning as brightly as ever.

Watching her, however, Flame felt a faint trace of unease mixed with bitterness.

That Reverse Mountain... It hid a secret connected to Duke Morph.

“Alright, shall we head back and continue skiing?”

Dragging her friends, who were still entranced by the scenery, Flame led them away from the observation deck.

***

Meanwhile...

A lone man, who had been observing Flame’s group from afar, silently turned and disappeared into the shadows.

Even amid the bustling crowd, no one noticed his presence.

***

Having carefully stored Ethereal Wind and Moonlight in his subspace, Baek Yu-Seol immediately began training.

With most of the students having left for their hometowns or vacations, the training grounds were empty, leaving him undisturbed.

“Training right after waking up?”

Of course, there was always an exception.

Hae Won-Ryang, who had chosen not to return to Full Moon Tower, remained behind, devoting himself to honing his magical skills.

“I lost time while I was unconscious, so I need to make up for it.”

“Unbelievable. Even if you slept for a whole year, I doubt you’d fall behind anyone.”

“Haha...”

Clearly, Hae Won-Ryang didn’t know Baek Yu-Seol well enough.

Baek Yu-Seol had always been the one chasing after the protagonists, trying to catch up to them.

Though recent opportunities had allowed him to narrow the gap, the rapid growth of Hae Won-Ryang and Mayuseong left him no room to relax.

“How about a quick spar?”

It was obvious that Hae Won-Ryang’s magic skills had improved dramatically while Baek Yu-Seol had been unconscious.

He was likely itching to put himself to the test, but Baek Yu-Seol wasn’t in the mood for sparring just yet.

“Sorry. I want to refine the new mana cultivation technique I’ve been working on. Let’s spar after I’m done—I guarantee it’ll be tough for you.”

Though disappointed, Hae Won-Ryang smirked.

“I’m looking forward to it. Last time we sparred, you wouldn’t have lasted even five rounds against my magic.”

“... Now that’s a little scary.”

“I heard you defeated a demon this time. That’s quite an achievement. Congratulations.”

With those words, Hae Won-Ryang left the training grounds, likely heading off to find another sparring partner… perhaps one of the seniors who had now advanced to their third year.

‘A sparring match, huh...?’

Baek Yu-Seol wondered how the match might have gone if he had accepted the challenge earlier.

Would he have been completely overwhelmed by Hae Won-Ryang’s improved magic and defeated in just five moves?

Probably.

Why?

Because...

‘I can’t use Harmony of Heavenly Qi during sparring.’

No matter how competitive he felt, risking severe injuries in a practice match would be nothing short of reckless.

‘How can I use Harmony of Heavenly Qi safely even during sparring?’

His thoughts turned toward controlling its strength… like carefully stretching a rubber band without snapping it.

Closing his eyes, he let himself sink into his inner world.

By now, stepping into his consciousness had become almost second nature.

[The blessing of the Pink Spring Moon...]

It was a gift bestowed upon him by the Twelve Divine Moons.

He vaguely recalled hearing that the Twelve Moons had gathered while he was asleep.

Unfortunately, by the time he woke up, they had already dispersed, leaving him with a faint sense of disappointment.

Still, he trusted they must have had their reasons.

‘... That’s right. I also have the blessing of the Soft Green Spring Moon.’

Just before he had awakened his Nature’s Heavenly Energy Body, he had received help from Soft Green Spring Moon, who took the form of a massive mountain.

Since the Soft Green Spring Moon represented nature itself, she had helped Baek Yu-Seol stabilize and control the natural energy surging in his heart—even if only slightly.

‘Wait... Can I actually make use of this?’

In the game, he had never fully received the Soft Green Spring Moon’s blessing. Instead, he had obtained a divine artifact linked to it but never managed to use it properly.

But this time, things were different.

Although he still struggled to fully control the blessings of the Silver Autumn Moon, the Blue Winter Moon, and the Dusk Soil Moon, he couldn’t afford to leave their powers untapped.

‘I need to harness the power of the Soft Green Spring Moon.’

Its ability to manipulate nature and life force - arguably the most mysterious power - was key.

Opening his inner eyes within the depths of his consciousness, Baek Yu-Seol gazed into the void.

Five glowing stars floated in the air:

A blue star, a silver star, a pink-red star, a brown star, and lastly, a green star shimmered in the void.

‘Receiving the blessing of Pink Spring Moon first... was truly a stroke of luck.’

Once Baek Yu-Seol gained mastery over his inner consciousness, accessing the dormant powers within him became almost effortless.

Without hesitation, he reached out toward the green star.

In an instant, he witnessed a colossal tree erupting from the endless ocean of his inner world. Its roots twisted and coiled, anchoring deep into the unseen depths, while its branches stretched outward, swallowing the skies.

Oceans, mountains, forests, and grasslands—

All forms of nature began to take shape, and with no sense of direction, they aggressively expanded in every direction.

A thrill sparked in Baek Yu-Seol’s chest as he observed the transformation, and a satisfied grin tugged at his lips.

“I really am a genius.”

For a brief moment, he felt like he was the most extraordinary person in the world. ————
