I Became a Little Vampire Princess After Being Infected by a Game Virus

Chapter 73: I Smell a Setup

Chapter 73: I Smell a Setup

“Come on! We’re not going to a martial arts tournament, okay? Day or night, we just charge in and grab them! Simple as that!”

They aren’t going to a competition, so there’s no need to follow any rules. Just rush in and take the people we need!

“Thinking about it, you might be right. I should still have time to go now.”

Diablo pondered for a moment; it seemed he really could just go for it. Why was he even hesitating? Time to go grab some people!

“Forget it, Diablo. First, take a good rest. Your body hasn’t adapted to this new power yet, and jumping straight into a fight wouldn’t do you any good. Plus, you’ve got that showdown scheduled for the day after tomorrow. Use this time to adjust and stabilize your body.”

Gilbaris halted Diablo’s enthusiasm. At the moment, Diablo had just finished his power-up and still couldn’t fully control this overwhelming energy, resulting in extremely unstable performance. It was better to take this time to balance his body and power well.

“Okay, fine. I’ll work on controlling my power first. Just you wait, I’ll show you both how I’m going to catch her in two days!”

With that, Diablo went off alone to train and gain control over this power.

“Are you sure it’s fine to talk to him like that? I’m kind of curious to see him eat dirt over there,” Titan remarked.

Titan noticed that Diablo’s power usage was unstable. If he went to battle in this condition, there was a huge chance he could be countered and get beaten badly. Honestly, Titan was kind of looking forward to seeing Diablo faceplant. He had been annoyed by that arrogant guy for ages.

“Don’t worry. Don’t you think it’s strange? Why did Aierjisi set the duel for the day after tomorrow, instead of tomorrow?”

“You mean they might be planning something for tomorrow?”

“Exactly! They’ve fought Diablo once before, so they definitely know how powerful he is. In that case, I can’t believe they’d just march in head-to-head with him without any preparations.”

“So what do we do next? Should we go mess up their prep tomorrow?”

“No need. This time we do nothing and just let Diablo fight them. Didn’t I say? If he can bring them all back, that would be perfect! But if he gets beaten, it’ll knock him down a peg and help him realize that we need to unite. Only together can we secure our clan’s future.”

“And will you bring me along to help take down the Ice Dragon King then?”

“Some things just have to be done! The Ice Dragon King is still a powerful foe. We need at least the two of us to barely hold him down. If we let Diablo go in doing his own thing, and he runs into both the Ice Dragon King and Aierjisi, he might as well become dust!”

Gilbaris just hoped for a crushing defeat to teach Diablo a lesson about his pride—not to be completely wiped out without a trace.

“Looks like you really care about him.”

“Of course! We’re all part of the same tribe, so we need to get along. Besides, don’t I care about you too?”

“Never said you didn’t care about me!”

Meanwhile… as dawn broke, Aierjisi and Yake arrived at the bar as planned, waiting for Yaser and Weirafiya.

“How slow are they? When are they going to show up?”

Aierjisi glanced at the clock on the wall; nearly an hour had passed, and still no sign of them. Could it be she was being stood up?

“Relax! We didn’t set a specific time. Plus, there’s nothing to do here. Let’s just enjoy a little while.”

“What’s there to enjoy? It smells like alcohol everywhere, and I can’t stand it.”

“Huh? You really hate alcohol? I remember you’ve had some before.”

“Absolutely! The taste is just awful. Spirits are all burny, and beer is all bitter. I can’t stand it! I much prefer sweet, happy drinks.”

Of course, Aierjisi’s disdain for alcohol also stemmed from her life on Earth—having to drink at all those work-related gatherings. Combined with the awful taste, it led her to really dislike anything alcoholic.

“Okay, but this place has other options! Like milk, or… oh! You HAVE to try this!”

Yake pointed at one item on the menu, something perfect for a Little Princess like her.

“What is it? Wood Elf Juice?? What kind of nonsense is that?”

Aierjisi grimaced at the name; what kind of drink was THAT? Was it really juice squeezed from a wood elf?

By the way, what even is a wood elf? She’d never heard of it!

“So? Want to give it a try? I’ve had it before, and it’s a nice tangy-sweet flavor! You’ll probably love it.”

“No way! I’m not drinking anything that sounds so sketchy!”

Aierjisi quickly rejected Yake’s kind offer. She would never drink something that sounded so ridiculous!

“Well, if you’re not going to drink it, fine! I’ll have it then. Boss, give me a glass of Wood Elf Juice.”

“Okay, coming right up! Want some ice with that?”

“Of course!”

With the boss bustling away, a glass of green liquid was soon presented to Yake.

Gulp, gulp…

Yake raised the cup and chugged down the Wood Elf Juice.

“Ah! This flavor is seriously refreshing! Boss, give me another one!”

“Sure thing!”

“I say, Yake. Don’t you think this drink is gross?”

“Gross? Are you kidding? This is just juice pressed from a tree! Want a sip? I guarantee once you taste it, you’ll fall in love!”

Yake nudged the cup closer to the Little Princess, encouraging her to try a sip.

“Hmm… since you’re so enthusiastic, I guess I’ll give it a shot.”

Aierjisi lifted the cup and took a tiny sip.

“This flavor… is actually quite delicious!”

As she savored the taste of that Wood Elf Juice, Aierjisi was instantly transformed into King Aierjisi of the Kingdom Waters!
