Chapter 678: Olympiad Mathematics Rule
Under the formidable threat of Lynn altering the laws of physics, it wasn't just the scientists of the Geometry Civilization who were collapsing in desperation; even the disc leaders present displayed expressions of hopelessness.
They had always known that there was a significant gap between the two civilizations, but they never imagined the disparity would be so vast!
All the weapons of the Geometry Civilization are based on the application of cosmic laws. If these laws are altered, it would mean the complete ineffectiveness of their technological weapons, causing the civilization's foundation to crumble!
"Choose now, submission or destruction!" Lynn spoke once again, his resounding voice echoing in the minds of every geometric being.
Endless humiliation swirled in the mind of the supreme leader, and the words of rebellion stuck in his throat, forcibly swallowed, as the scepter he held tightly was finally released.
This is the ultimate civilization capable of altering cosmic laws; a single interstellar governor can dismantle all their resistance.
As Lynn said, the choices before them are only two: submission or destruction!
Just as the group of leaders hesitated, Gerta stepped forward at the right time, speaking respectfully.
"Great imperial governor, please quell your anger! The disgrace of this ignorant civilization fails to see the situation, daring to question your tolerance and mercy!"
After calming Lynn's 'anger,' Gerta turned to the assembly in the conference hall, speaking solemnly.
"Gentlemen, you should have all witnessed the magic power of this special energy; it is the key to unlocking the high dimensions and an indispensable treasure for the promotion of civilization levels!
With the technological level of the Magic Empire, they could easily destroy the Geometry Civilization, yet they mercifully forgave our warring provocation and generously allowed a lower-level civilization to use the magic power to help us achieve a leap in our civilization level!"
"But now, some doubt this as ill-intentioned!" Gerta said coldly, looking mercilessly at the disillusioned researchers. "This is the most ridiculous accusation I've ever heard! Look at the evidence you've brought forward, simply because magic power enters the Sea of Quanta during conversion, with the direction coincidentally pointing towards the star domain belonging to the Magic Empire?"
Otherwise, what? Several researchers opened their mouths to refute but understood that relying on this one piece of evidence was insufficient to indicate any underhanded actions by the Magic Empire.
After all, there are too many possibilities; no one knows how magic power works exactly. Maybe this special energy has a convergent property, naturally gravitating towards the energy source; hence, when unstable, some energy may detach and return to the Magic Empire.
If there is something more worth questioning, it would be how Lynn managed to appear so coincidentally in the heavily guarded conference hall.
However, given the Magic Empire's technological level, they might be using other means to monitor them, and considering the huge gap in power, their defenses might as well be nonexistent.
Successfully suppressing the opposing voices, Gerta spoke again, stating that the process of energy transformation had no thought control. It was after witnessing the greatness of the imperial governor in the web of magic power that he resolved to lead the entire civilization into a broader, high-dimensional world!
Although Gerta's words were not entirely convincing, the disk leaders had to admit that an existence that could crush them with a snap of the fingers had no need to rely on methods like memory modification!
After a moment of silence, the supreme leader took the step offered by Gerta, calling for all the high-ranking members present to vote and collectively decide the civilization's fate.
Survival or destruction is an easy choice especially when the power disparity is so vast.
The use of magic power involves the promotion of civilization, with the only price being becoming a vassal of a higher civilization. Humiliating as it is, it also means having a protector, which doesn't seem completely unacceptable!
Under such considerations, the final vote resulted in 1,037 in favor, and 80 abstentions approved the resolution, agreeing from henceforth for the Geometry Civilization to unconditionally accept the dominion of the Magic Empire.
Lynn was also quite satisfied with this result. Gerta's words saved him a lot of efforts, keeping the situation from developing in the worst direction.
Lynn snapped his fingers, and the previously chaotic conference hall, due to the explosion, was rapidly restored as if time had reversed.
Even the dead guards were resurrected on the spot...
When altering the laws to cause their self-destruction, Lynn had collected the souls of these people, and now casually molded them bodies with magic power!
This gesture of goodwill instantly alleviated the previously tense atmosphere. It was only then that Lynn spoke of the first task assigned to the Geometry Civilization.
"I will give you six months to prepare for war. By then, there might be a small problem you need to resolve to demonstrate your sincerity!"
"Governor, may I ask what this problem is?" a disc leader cautiously inquired.
The other geometric beings were also somewhat apprehensive, as the small problem for the Magic Empire might be quite significant for them...
"You'll know when the time comes!" Lynn teased without revealing more, and with those words, like his arrival, he disappeared suddenly on the spot.
This wasn't intentional mysticism on Lynn's part, but in these short minutes, the power he projected had been completely consumed.
The divine power required to alter universal laws was overwhelmingly terrifying, even if it was only within the span of a conference hall, it drained most of Lynn's main body's strength.
If not for the need to intimidate the top echelons of the Geometry Civilization, Lynn wouldn't have rashly used this unfamiliar power—the Arcane Law!
This opportunity was indeed too rare; in fact, it was meticulously planned by him. Only by subduing the entire leadership of the Geometry Civilization in one swift move could he resolve the threat facing the grand cosmos at minimal cost and gather enough strength to face upcoming wars from the prime world... or even initiate a counteroffensive!
Opening his eyes again, Lynn was already on the Eternal Star, three hundred light-years away.
Having returned from the Sea of Quanta over a month ago, after sixty-seven years of preparation, the council's power has surpassed all former limits. Once the nine-ring legendary Wizards prepared for ascension complete their ascension ceremony, it will be time for war!
