Chapter 685: The Reversed Battlefield, Major Counterattack!
"Great God of Life and Creation, you are the father of all living beings, the creator of all things. Your humble believer begs for your descent!"
In the main world, within the Life and Creation Divine Realm, inside the Floating City, millions of Yavah people prayed on their knees under the guidance of the priests.
Since the Great Lord left this world and went to the Temple of All Gods, nearly a year has passed without any response or guidance from him. During this time, continuous Heavenly Disasters have reached a level that even the priests cannot handle, causing many believers to be very worried. Thus, there was this prayer ceremony involving millions of believers.
In a place beyond the reach of mortal sight, two gods watched this scene closely.
Since he was nearly killed by one of Lynn's avatars last time, the God of Knowledge and Alchemy has been extremely suspicious that Ogg has betrayed the main world, so he proactively applied to stay behind and investigate for more evidence.
However, the gains over these days have been almost zero. He has monitored this divine realm for several months and even obtained the memories of some high-level divine officials, but everything looks perfectly normal.
Even the chief priest only knows that Ogg went to the Temple of All Gods, without any idea of what he went to do.
"Let's go, it seems there's nothing noteworthy here. Once the three main gods conquer the new world, everything will naturally come to light!" said the God of Poetry, speaking with disinterest.
In his view, the so-called investigation is completely pointless and a waste of time.
The God of Knowledge and Alchemy suddenly felt a surge of unease. He quickly looked up at the sky, sensing a powerful energy gathering.
The next moment, the azure sky was suddenly torn open.
"Is Ogg back?" the God of Poetry wondered aloud, seeing the massive space-time rift appear in the sky and instinctively assuming that the prayers of these believers had worked, not taking immediate action to stop it.
But what flew out of the space-time rift was not the God of Life and Creation as he had anticipated, but fleets of diamond-shaped, menacing and majestic galaxy-class battleships.
"No... these are those Wizards' alchemical creations!" The God of Knowledge and Alchemy recognized the scene in astonishment, and in that instant, he understood that his suspicions were correct; Ogg had indeed betrayed the main world.
"Your Exalted, what should we do now? Should we take action?" the God of Poetry asked urgently, fearing that his divine duties, being unsuited for combat, couldn't handle so many opponents.
"No need, it's too late; they're already here!" said the God of Knowledge and Alchemy gravely.
Just as he finished speaking, over a dozen figures had already surrounded them.
These included Harrov, Aurora, Vittorio, and many other councils who had completed their ascension rituals. To ensure the success of this mission, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that the council went all out.
The God of Knowledge and Alchemy focused his gaze on one familiar figure among them. "Ogg?!"
"Long time no see, both of you!" Ogg greeted casually.
"How dare you betray us!? Aren't you worried that when the three exalted return, they will rip out your divine soul and destroy your godhood?" the God of Poetry expressed with shock and fury.
"Don't be ridiculous!" Ogg's face showed hints of mockery. "The fact that we're standing here proves the outcome is already decided!"
"As for you, why not choose to defect with me? The vastness of the universe is beyond your imagination, a thousand billion times bigger than the main world; everyone has the potential to become a main god!" Ogg spoke with fanaticism.
The God of Poetry didn't believe Ogg's words. How could there be such an existence in a plane a thousand billion times larger than the main world?
However, seeing the number of battleships emerging from the space-time rift increasing, the God of Poetry's heart gradually sank to the bottom.
"The die is cast? Not necessarily," the God of Knowledge and Alchemy replied with a cold laugh. If things were truly as Ogg said, the main world should have already collapsed due to the fall of the three main gods, yet it remained intact, indicating the war was still ongoing.
He even suspected that those Wizards couldn't withstand the onslaught of the three main gods, and thus resorted to a switch-home tactic.
Ogg raised an eyebrow but didn't expect to sway a powerful divine entity simply with words. After a pause, he continued.
"The vastness of the universe and the strength of the Magic Kingdom are beyond your imagination. Since you think the situation is unclear, why not choose to observe the battle?"
"Observing the battle" naturally meant staying neutral, not taking sides, or simply aligning with whoever wins.
With the combined power of these over a dozen gods, it wouldn't be difficult to kill this God of Knowledge and Alchemy, who possessed strong divine power. But a desperate counterattack from the latter would inevitably cause casualties and damage his divine realm.
The most critical point is that they have neither the time nor the energy to waste here; the gods staying behind to guard the main world are surely more than just these two!
The God of Knowledge and Alchemy remained silent for a while, showing hesitance on his face.
"Your Exalted, do you really believe the words of a betrayer? If those Wizards truly wielded such power, why would they have hidden in their plane in fear?" the God of Poetry asserted decisively. "Even if the opponents win, they will not spare us..."
Even though the God of Poetry knew very well that the power of the two of them was insufficient to contend with so many gods, all he needed to do was report the message!
"You make a good point!" The God of Knowledge and Alchemy nodded.
Harrov and Vittorio's expressions turned icy immediately.
But before they decided to make a move, the God of Knowledge and Alchemy acted first, without any warning severing the unguarded God of Poetry and stripping off his godhood in his astonishment and confusion.
"A wise choice!" Ogg said with a smile, unperturbed by the God of Knowledge and Alchemy's decision. "We won't touch your divine realm, and afterward, we will report your actions to that esteemed individual. But, for now, we ask for your cooperation!"
The surrounding dozen councillors collectively cast a spell, and soon, a massive Alchemy Array surrounded the God of Knowledge and Alchemy.
The latter recognized the Array's function at a glance and didn't resist, but continued to look up at the sky. In just this brief moment, over four hundred warships had entered the main world.
These alchemical creations looked too new, with no surface damage or signs of battles fought.
This indicated that his previous suspicion was wrong; the Wizards had the capability to deal with the main world's invasion while simultaneously gathering such formidable force for a counterattack. Whatever the reason, it was enough to prove that their power exceeded expectations.
