I Have A Dual World Seal

Chapter 142: Beast Creation Technique

Lu Zheng walked out, took a deep breath, blinked his eyes that had turned red from spiciness, and felt truly aggrieved.

I've given too much!

Standing in the middle of the backyard, he took a few breaths, then walked over to the nearby wooden cages to examine them closely.

Shaking his head, he sighed before turning around to open the wooden door and walked back to the inn's main hall through the corridor.

By this time, Chief Liu had already poured himself a cup of wine, enjoying one sip of wine and one bite of food, savoring the moment.

After all, they had been busy for half a day, so it was high time to replenish his energy.

Lu Zheng, "..."

"Hey, innkeeper!" Lu Zheng sat next to Chief Liu, noticing that his cup was also filled with wine.

He raised his glass, clinked it with Chief Liu's, took a gentle sip, picked up some food with his chopsticks, and asked the approaching shopkeeper, "Innkeeper, do you sell dog meat here?"

Shopkeeper Lu shook his head in reply, "Please forgive me, young master, we don't have dog meat. If you'd like some, there's a butcher's shop on the next street run by Butcher Zhang, where you can get some. Should I have one of my staff get some for you?"

"I see, no need for that then." Lu Zheng shook his head, "I just noticed a few dogs in the backyard and thought you might offer dog meat, so I just asked offhand."

Shopkeeper Lu waved his hand and smiled, "Those dogs belong to our guest's goods, not things we're selling."

"Which guest's goods?" Lu Zheng casually continued the conversation.

Shopkeeper Lu instinctively glanced at a figure sitting in the corner of the main hall.

That person shuddered and saw Lu Zheng glance over with a raised cup, loudly asking, "Brother, do you sell dog meat?"

That person took a breath, nodded slightly in acknowledgment, raised his cup and clinked from afar with Lu Zheng, "Hello, young master, it's just a humble business, nothing noteworthy."

Lu Zheng smiled, focusing his gaze, and saw that the person was over forty years old, had a square face, a slight beard underneath his chin, and a moderate build.

He was wearing coarse short clothes, which although slightly worn, were quite clean.

And the hand holding the cup had rough skin but showed no signs of injury or calluses, he probably didn't do much manual labor.

Lu Zheng smiled slightly, "Could I buy one to take home since it's convenient?"

The middle-aged man's expression didn't change, he simply cupped his hands and smiled, "Please forgive me, young master, the dogs were collected for home use."

"Does your family run a dog meat shop?"

"Just a humble business, nothing noteworthy."

Lu Zheng seemed interested and walked toward the person with his cup raised.

"I thought you were just collecting dogs, turns out you're an expert in dog meat." Lu Zheng plopped down beside the person, "Do you happen to have any secret marinade recipes?"

The man laughed twice, "You flatter me, young master, it's just a small countryside shop, no secret recipes, just a meat craving among locals."

"Oh." Lu Zheng nodded understandingly and then raised his cup, "I see, well, never mind then."

The man smiled and raised his cup, ready to clink with Lu Zheng.

But just as their cups were about to clink, Lu Zheng's palm flipped, producing a Cold Condensing Talisman in his hand, which he slapped onto the man's arm with a crisp "pop."

"You!" The man was shocked.

In the next moment, Lu Zheng's body erupted in Blood Qi, he grasped the man's wrist with one hand, and with a swift pull, flipped the man up.

"Boom!"

The man was slammed onto the ground with a loud crash.

Lu Zheng's eyes were fierce, ready to flip him again, only to find the man already bleeding from the mouth, eyes closed tight, fainted.

Lu Zheng, "..."

Instantly, the inn fell silent, but before it could erupt in chaos, Chief Liu stood up straight, "Calm down, this person is a suspect in a case, unrelated personnel need not fear."

People: We weren't yelling!

People: We haven't had the chance to be scared yet!

Chief Liu quickly approached Lu Zheng, looked at the man lying on the ground, bleeding from the mouth and nose, and in weak condition, recalled Lu Zheng's earlier words, feeling utterly perplexed.

"The opponent is Abnormal People, and their cultivation shouldn't be weak!"

"Don't let slip a word, draw the man's attention."

Yet, this is the result?

Looking at Lu Zheng's expressionless face, Chief Liu felt his manner of speaking and actions were enigmatic, unfathomable.

Chief Liu whispered, "Is it him?"

Lu Zheng nodded, "It's him."

"Those dogs…"

"Let people come in; take the dogs to the County Government Office first."

"Yes, yes!" Chief Liu nodded repeatedly and turned to Shopkeeper Lu, "My people are right across the street, would the shopkeeper please call them in?"

"Okay, okay!" Shopkeeper Lu nodded repeatedly and then ran out of the inn.

A moment later, four or five constables rushed into the inn, two lifting the unconscious middle-aged man, another two going to the backyard, commandeering the innkeeper's carriage, loading all eleven caged dogs onto the carriage.

Lu Zheng glanced at them, thinking there were probably some parents who hadn't reported to the authorities yet.

"When did he bring these dogs over?" Chief Liu asked.

Shopkeeper Lu hurried to answer, "He started bringing them sporadically since the afternoon, the last one was brought half an hour ago, he said it was bought from the market."

Chief Liu nodded, the timing matched, "Take us to the room he booked."

Guided by Shopkeeper Lu, Lu Zheng and Chief Liu went to Room 2 of Type B upstairs.

Opening the door and entering the guest room, the room was neat and tidy, almost empty except for a bundle.

Chief Liu's eyes were fixed on the bundle, but he didn't dare touch it.

Lu Zheng asked Shopkeeper Lu to leave first, then moved his hands into Seal Technique, casting a green Exorcism Curse onto it.

"Buzz!"

Hmm, no reaction.

Then Lu Zheng stepped forward and untied the bundle, discovering that besides some spare clothes and other things, there was also a slightly worn-out book.

"Beast Creation Technique"!

"Sure enough, it's this evil technique." Lu Zheng nodded, thinking to himself that it was as expected.

Turning around, he saw Chief Liu looking around, glancing at all the corners of the guest room with a furrowed brow, looking quite serious, as if investigating something.

Lu Zheng chuckled, coughed, and said, "Chief Liu, it seems this place has been influenced by some spells cast by that person. Please step out of the guest room first. I'll perform a spell to exorcise the evil, and then you may come in."

Chief Liu showed a look of surprise, then immediately nodded and stepped back, "Alright, alright, Young Master, please perform the exorcism spell."

Chief Liu exited the guest room, also taking care to close the door.

...

A moment later, Lu Zheng opened the door.

"Chief Liu, please come in, it's done."

Chief Liu nodded repeatedly, then instinctively walked into the guest room and immediately saw the "Beast Creation Technique" placed on the bundle.

"This is..."

"This person is indeed not on the righteous path of cultivators. I found a copy of the 'Beast Creation Technique' in his belongings, and it should be handed over by you, Chief Liu."

Chief Liu looked at the book in disbelief, then at Lu Zheng, pointing at himself with eyes wide open.

Lu Zheng nodded.

Chief Liu took a deep breath and then bowed deeply.

An involvement in a case concerning cultivators and the seizure of a spell, in itself, is enough of an achievement. When the County Captain of Tonglin County retires, there's a good chance he could take the position.

...

Returning to the County Government Office, Lu Zheng learned that the person still hadn't awakened. He blinked, feeling a bit awkward, but...

"Fortunately, fortunately." An old constable expressed relief, "We were worried he would wake up before Young Master Lu's return. We mortals can hardly contain such abnormal people."

Lu Zheng: (||๐_๐)

Is that so?

Lu Zheng nodded, with hands behind his back, maintaining a serene and mysterious demeanor.

He first went to the backyard of the County Government Office, where eleven cages were placed. The dogs within were all staring intently at the people outside, some pawing at the wooden cages, or whining softly but unable to bark.

The surrounding constables looked at the wooden cages with shock, and a trace of fear in their eyes.

Chief Liu quietly asked, "Should we wake that guy up?"

Lu Zheng shook his head, "Open the cages."

Chief Liu waved his hand, "What are you all staring at? Open the cages!"

Several constables exchanged glances, then cautiously gathered around and opened the wooden cages.

As the cages were opened, the local dogs ran out, but none of them jumped or made a fuss; they all quietly gathered in the center of the courtyard, observing the people around them, filling the onlookers with compassion.

Lu Zheng observed carefully. These dogs could only be seen as dogs; apart from their especially human-like eyes, there were no flaws visible.

Gosh, it's truly amazing!

Looking at the puppies, Lu Zheng couldn't help but think of last year's Painted Skin case...

"Young Master?"

Lu Zheng took a breath, the content of the Beast Creation Technique flashed through his mind, and his eyes sharpened. He formed a seal with his hands, chanting softly.

"Release!"

Lu Zheng supported his right wrist with his left hand, formed a sword with his right index and middle fingers, pointing towards one of the dogs.

"Woo—"

The dog trembled all over, rolled on the ground, and the black dog skin grew loose and shed off.

From it emerged a little girl dressed in a floral jacket, about three to four years old.

"Wah—"

"My heavens!"

"It's really those children!"

Many constables exclaimed in alarm.

"Wah—" The little girl immediately burst into tears, and an elderly constable quickly came forward, cradling her and softly comforting her.

Lu Zheng took a glance at the little girl and then again formed a seal, pointing to another dog.

"Woo—"

The local dog rolled over to reveal a chubby boy, sitting motionless in the same spot, staring wide-eyed and dumbfounded.

...

One... two... three...

In a short time, eleven children appeared, the oldest no more than four years old, the youngest only two, with their dog skins lying on the ground.

...

The task of returning the children to their parents naturally fell to the County Government Office to handle.

Lu Zheng followed Chief Liu to the prison next door, gauging the person's cultivation, and then sealed their Dantian Qi Sea with True Qi, ensuring they couldn't escape before the State Capital Anomaly Suppression Bureau arrived.

Then...

"Buzz!"

Five strands of Light of Fortune were credited.

"Bah!" Lu Zheng spat, disappointed that it was less than what Hu Zhou had provided. Weakling!
