Chapter 611: 611 Fairy Tail: The Magic of Death, Ultear's Tears of Hate, The Devil's Particle and A Battle on the Brink of Death.
The temple was shaken by a thunderous roar. Both Gray and Lyon, in the middle of their fight, came to a halt.
Gray's eyes narrowed and his jaw clenched. "This is impossible…"
"Finally! Deliora is free!" Lyon laughed with a crazed look in his eyes. "Look, Gray! They couldn't stop my plan!"
"Shut up, Lyon! You have no idea what that monster is truly capable of!"
"You're a coward! I'll defeat Deliora! Ice-Make: Lion!"
Lyon summoned an ice lion that lunged at Gray.
"You'll have to get through me first! Ice-Make: Shield!"
Gray blocked the lion with his ice shield, but in his heart, the terror from so many years ago was returning with each rumble of Deliora shaking Galuna Island.
....
Lucy opened her eyes. She was lying against a tree, with Tim resting on her lap. Next to her was a note—probably from Natsu—saying they had gone ahead to the temple. Lucy sighed and hugged Timcampy. She knew Allen was strong—just considering the strength of his Spirits made that obvious—but even so, she couldn't help but worry.
"You're finally awake… sleeping beauty," said Sherry, lying on the ground, clearly weakened.
"You're still alive?!" Lucy exclaimed in surprise, but then she felt pity for Sherry. "I don't try to understand people like you… But unlike guys like Bora or Duke Everlue, you don't really seem evil. So why go this far...?"
Sherry chuckled as she turned to look up at the sky. "For love…"
"It's ridiculous to go to such extremes for love…"
Sherry coughed a bit, but her gaze remained bright. "Love is like that… irrational, sometimes foolish, sometimes cruel, sometimes painful… but always wonderful."
Lucy didn't know how to respond to those words. Sherry's way of thinking felt naive and strange… yet Lucy didn't despise her. On the contrary, she felt like maybe—just maybe—she could understand her a little. The blonde looked toward the temple, her gaze becoming determined. Then she stood up.
"Didn't you just say risking your life for love was stupid?" Sherry teased with a smile.
"Can't you shut up for once?" Lucy growled, hiding her embarrassment.
Sherry laughed, but her tone grew serious. "If you go, you might die…"
Lucy didn't answer. She just gave her a smile before walking away. Sherry watched her go and sighed. "I really was completely defeated…"
Elsewhere...
Erza, Natsu, and Happy were heading toward the lower part of the temple. None of them spoke. They exchanged glances before running together toward Deliora's cave.
All three shared the same anxious look, as if something felt deeply wrong.
....
Tony – That monster's about to be unleashed. Wouldn't it be better to attack before it's fully out?
Hestia – No! If you do that, Ur could die!
Kratos – She's already dead. In that state, her body stopped being alive long ago...
Annie – Logically speaking, Kratos is right. There's no saving Ultear anymore… but Allen has done far more incredible things. I'll believe in him.
Batman – Allen, didn't you learn your lesson with Lucifer? You can't have everything, or you'll lose it all...
Orihime – I want to believe. Bad things happen in the world that no one can stop, but even if it seems impossible… I want to believe Onii-san can do it!
Gwen – Maybe it's foolish to want everything… but even if all the evidence says otherwise, I'll believe in Allen. I always have. I won't stop now!
The Emperor – Reality is harsh. Perfect happy endings only exist in fantasies. But this world is made of fantasies… so let's give him the benefit of the doubt.
....
(Inside Deliora's cave)
'System, how long before Deliora breaks the seal?'
[21% of the seal is broken]
'I see… keep me informed. And remember, Ur is the top priority.'
Ultear chuckled mockingly. "Well, looks like you can't seal Deliora anymore~ Don't feel bad. This demon was created by none other than Zeref—the most powerful mage in history. There's no—"
Ultear stopped talking as her eyes widened in disbelief. Allen watched Deliora with calm, serene eyes like still water. His hair moved gently in the wind caused by Deliora's aura. His posture was firm—utterly unwavering.
Ultear was left breathless. The mental strength of the young man before her surpassed anyone she had ever known. She couldn't help but wonder: just what had he seen to be able to have eyes like that?
[46%...]
More chunks of ice fell, and with them, Deliora's body was slowly revealed. The monster's dark tone and demonic appearance, its giant, sharp teeth, mouth, and eyes like endless voids, and its terrifying aura made one thing perfectly clear— That's a monster.
A bead of sweat rolled down Ultear's cheek. She had underestimated Deliora's power. She even began to doubt whether it could be controlled at all.
"Step back," Allen said in a calm, gentle voice, surprising her. She looked at him for a second, didn't argue, and simply moved back. But once she did, she felt confused. Why did I obey him? No… she didn't understand it. When she looked into his eyes, she simply couldn't disobey. This man...
Ultear felt irritated, but did nothing. She knew it—this wasn't her stage, this wasn't her fight, this wasn't her place. Ultear couldn't believe it, but she had been reduced to just a spectator. She watched as the ice shards falling from Deliora's body vanished—she had no proof, but she knew it had to be Allen's doing. That idiot still thinks Ur can be saved?
Ultear scoffed. She had said horrible things about her mother, but at one point she too had tried reviving her using her Arc of Time. But reality was cruel—you can't tamper with someone's time. Even with her time magic, she was powerless against the flow of life. Ur was gone…
Ultear silently observed Allen. She knew Lyon was a fool who didn't realize he couldn't beat Deliora even in dreams… but strangely, she didn't feel the same way about Allen. Maybe this young man would give her a show worth watching.
[77%...]
The system was carefully gathering Ur's remains, protecting her body and soul. Despite her lamentable state, there were still traces of life within her. So it waited—until every last fragment of Ur was safe.
[92%... 94%...]
Allen narrowed his eyes as Deliora released immense amounts of cursed magic, causing the entire island to tremble. The pressure only increased until the seal finally shattered, fully unleashing the demon of calamity—Deliora.
[100%!]
The moment the seal broke, Allen moved. A swift, precise, and absolutely certain motion. In his hand, a black and green glow swirled together.
Fairy Tail and the villagers were on this island, especially Lucy and Erza. Letting Deliora destroy everything was unacceptable, Allen had to finish it in one move.
"Death Magic: Avada Kedavra." Allen didn't hesitate.
From his hand shot a fluorescent, chilling beam, filled with the voices of those who had perished under that cursed spell before. Embraced by the darkness of death Allen had obtained into this world. A terrifying combination—fast and merciless.
When the spell struck the enormous demon, there was no shockwave, no explosion, no final words. Death was cold like that… silent like that… terrifying like that. Deliora remained still—completely lifeless.
Ultear staggered, unable to believe what she had seen. The moment that magic appeared, she felt a deep, primal fear—it was death.
"That's impossible! Only Zeref can use death magic… are you—?!" Ultear gasped, pale. But it didn't make sense. Zeref wasn't supposed to be here, and he sure wasn't part of Fairy Tail. "No… you're not Zeref. Then who are you?"
She looked at Allen, trying to read his face, but got no response.
Allen did not want to use this death magic. Not because of moral concerns about killing—he had killed many dark wizards as an Auror. No, the reason was different. That kind of magic just didn't feel right. Even if he was willing to take lives, he didn't want to use that kind of power.
Allen turned to Ultear. "This… wasn't what I wanted to show you. Ultear, I intend to bring your mother back to life."
"…!"
"You can believe me or not. You can keep pretending you hate your mother while plotting to destroy the world, or whatever it is you want. Or… you can leave that path of self-destruction behind and just follow me until then."
Ultear lowered her head, biting her lip until it bled. A moment later, she looked at Allen with tearful, angry eyes. "I stopped believing in sweet words a long time ago, Walker!"
Allen walked up to her, who remained on the ground. Once he was in front of her, he extended his hand. "These aren't sweet words. They're an absolute certainty. Even if I have to flip the sky upside down—I've decided to bring your mom back. I'll let her scold you herself." Allen smiled.
"…!" Ultear froze. At that moment, she realized the man in front of her couldn't possibly be Zeref. No dark mage could have a smile that bright. Ultear slowly raised her hand to take Allen's. Maybe—just maybe—she could believe once more.
....
*Crack*
Allen opened his eyes in shock. When he turned toward Deliora's motionless body, he could feel faint breathing… and a heartbeat.
"Impossible… how is he alive?!"
Deliora's body was gray and dead… but something inside it was still alive.
"Allen!" Erza arrived, with Natsu right behind her.
"Don't come any closer!"
They both froze from afar, startled as Allen raised his voice with a grave expression. A small scarlet glimmer appeared at the top of Deliora—it looked like a glowing ember drifting in, sinking into his body.
In that moment, Allen felt something familiar—power he had sensed before. He grabbed Ultear and tossed her toward Erza, who caught her mid-air.
"Protego Vallum!"
A golden wall rose between Allen and the others. Erza and Natsu shouted at him, but Allen ignored them, focusing entirely on Deliora.
The demon's body began to crack—but it wasn't dying. Instead, as the fissure widened, Erza, Natsu, Happy, and Ultear all froze. A paralyzing fear overtook them. It didn't matter if it was the fearless Erza, the reckless Natsu, or the powerful Ultear—none of them could stop shaking.
Deliora's body crumbled into pieces, but it didn't vanish. In its place stood a smaller version of itself, with glowing red eyes and demonic wings.
"That power..." Allen clenched his fist. "That power!"
Deliora vanished...
"...!" Allen raised his arm to block an incoming blow from the monster. Deliora's fist impacted Allen's arm with a crunch of broken bones, but it was not Deliora's. "What?!"
Time seemed to freeze for a second. Allen struggled to react, still processing what had just happened. Then, the shockwave hit—obliterating the cave, leveling the mountain, clearing the forest, and splitting the sea in two.
The barrier had protected everyone—but they all felt the terrifying power behind that strike. Erza stood up, pale, staring at the massive hole in the wall, that single blow had annihilated everything in its path. That single punch had destroyed everything in its path. Was this truly Deliora's power?! Wasn't this way too strong?!
"Allen!" Erza immediately switched to her Heaven's Wheel Armor and flew at full speed.
"Happy! We're going too!"
"Natsu... we can't… that thing can't be defeated…"
"Even so, we have to go! Allen's fighting alone!"
"...!" Happy gritted his teeth, grabbed Natsu, and flew after Erza.
Ultear sat in silence, mocking softly, "How foolish... there's no way he can defeat that thing... they're just going to get themselves killed..." Her smile faded as she looked at her own hand. She had for a moment wanted to hold his hand, would that have changed anything?
Ultear clenched her lips and stared off into the distance…
---
Dozens of miles offshore, a figure flew erratically across the ocean surface at high speed. Allen cast a spell to stand atop the sea, though the impact had pushed him miles away. Once he stopped, he took a second to process what had just happened.
That punch broke his arm, destroyed the cave, and launched him far out to sea. But something felt off… Deliora couldn't be that strong. There was only one explanation:
"Lucifer!" Allen felt like he'd swallowed a dead insect.
Lucifer – Remember the wager we made? No, of course you don't—that was the deal. But here's a clue: if this bet's a game where, if you win, you get a fraction of my power… then the question is, where's that power now?
"Don't tell me you gave it to that monster?!"
Lucifer – If I could, I would. But reality's harsh—even the tiniest fragment of my power is far too much for a puny demon... Let's make it simple: that piece of my power we're gambling over… It's in that world. Don't worry, no one else can claim it—not really. Anyone besides you wouldn't be able to handle it. But that's the interesting part. I didn't give power to Deliora. But under the 'conditions' we negotiated… a small portion of it seems to have landed in him.
"Damn it!" Allen understood… he'd known all along. Despite Lucifer's elegant, cordial tone, that bastard was no ally. Even if he pretended to like him, the truth was clear—Lucifer wasn't giving him power. He was trying to kill him.
But that made sense. He was the devil, after all. Not exactly a title you get for being kind. And let's be honest—Allen's magic alone, even limited, was already strong enough that few opponents could truly threaten him. So what would Lucifer need to do to stand a chance?
The answer was brutal.
There was no time to curse him. If Allen let his guard down even a little, he could die—and that wasn't an exaggeration. So far, only Lucifer had defeated him. And now, Deliora was like his herald.
Allen narrowed his eyes as a black dot appeared on the horizon. Its appearance was demonic… its power devastating… so terrifying it seemed to distort space itself.
---
Gwen – Damn that bastard!
MJ – As if using magic wasn't enough, now he's empowering villains too?!
Felicia – This is beyond unfair!
Natasha – Shameless!
Athena – What a vile man!
Esdeath – I won't forget this!
Albedo – I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you, you son of a—
Unohana – Such vulgar arrogance… You piece of filth.
Hulk – HULK SMASH YOU!
Rick – Hey Luci… don't you think you're taking this a little far…?
DoomGuy – Enemy…
Wednesday – Even I can't tolerate this… I swear I'll make you pay someday…
Lucifer – Haha… Before another twenty women insult me, shouldn't you all be paying attention to your man?
The chat's attention returned to Allen. He stood silently, as if in shock—but not from Lucifer or Deliora. No, his eyes hadn't moved from the mission screen.
[Main Mission / Emergency: The Particle of Lucifer... Deliora was originally just a demon created by a dark mage. But now, having received a particle of Lucifer's power, he has become an angel of death—Lucifer's herald… Threat Level: Worldwide… Victory Condition – Survive! Even a tiny portion of Lucifer's power is too much for Deliora and will eventually kill him. But until then… Don't die!]
(A/N: Maybe this wasn't mentioned before, but some missions are visible to the Chat—main ones and emergencies—but don't display rewards.)
---
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?!..." Allen growled, clenching his jaw, shocking everyone. "Survive? Not win? Not defeat your opponent? Just survive?!"
Allen felt insulted—disrespected—and humiliated. Just survive?! Did that mean he had no chance of winning?!
His battles always ended in only two ways: with total victory… or crushing defeat. Fighting to survive, even once, against Lucifer was enough!
"Don't screw with me! I won't lose to some fake demon—I'm Allen Walker!"
Deliora appeared before him, fist clenched, roaring. Allen didn't dodge.
"Protego Stratis!"
A series of overlapping shields appeared before Allen. The demon struck them one by one, each blow echoing thunderously across the sea. When it reached the final shield, it stopped.
Allen clenched his fist. "I don't give a damn if he has Lucifer's power! One-Man Army ×100!"
Allen struck Deliora so hard that the sea split in two. But there was a cost—his left arm was shattered. Still, Deliora's head exploded on impact.
No one had time to celebrate—Deliora's head instantly regenerated. Allen also regenerated his arm, but every time he does it, he spends a lot of magic, so unless it's an incapacitating wound, he won't do it again.
The demon opened its mouth, glowing with energy. Allen vanished before a massive energy beam vaporized everything in its path across dozens of kilometers.
"Tsk!" Allen boosted his speed, breaking the sound barrier repeatedly. He arrived with a powerful kick to Deliora's gut. The demon didn't fly back—he grabbed Allen's leg and slammed him into the ocean, creating a meteor-like explosion.
The sea erupted, a tsunami spreading in every direction.
Underwater, Allen pressed his hands together. 'Arx Protego!'
Four massive walls appeared, stopping the tsunami that could've engulfed entire cities. But Deliora dove in after him, striking Allen so hard the sea rose miles into the sky.
Allen coughed blood, then returned the blow even harder. He struck Deliora upward into the sky and followed. Hovering midair, Allen couldn't help but vomit blood. His magic was depleting at an alarming rate. But in his eyes—determination burned.
"Compound Magic..." Allen opened his hand. "First Segment: Arcinitium! (Arcane Genesis)"
His magic gathered massively in his hand. It exhausted him—but he continued.
"Second Segment: Plasmarion! (Magical Plasma)"
A small, weak-looking sphere appeared in his hand. Before he could continue, Deliora charged. Allen couldn't interrupt the spell—so he raised his other hand.
"Double Cast: Protego Impervia!"
A triangular shield appeared and absorbed the massive blow, cracking but holding. Sweat poured from Allen's face, but he kept the compound spell going. Still, blood now streamed from his eyes, nose, and mouth. He could've avoided this by increasing his durability—but he didn't. His magic wasn't infinite, and he needed every ounce for offense. He abandoned all defense, save what would keep him alive.
"Third Segment: Incarthis! (Compressed Magic Charge)"
The plasma orb began to vibrate and compress. Deliora roared and used its tail to bypass the shield—piercing through Allen's stomach. Allen grabbed the demon's tail, his gaze deadly.
"Don't get cocky, little demon. I've had tougher things for breakfast!" Allen smirked arrogantly as the orb in his hand emitted terrifying energy and sound. Deliora tried to flee—but couldn't. Allen held him in place with ×100 strength.
"You'll have to rip off my arm! Fourth Segment: Exolvo! (Release)!"
....
Erza and Natsu stopped when they saw a distant explosion—so massive it formed a colossal mushroom cloud. They covered themselves, but the shockwave was so powerful it sent them flying backward.
"Allen!" Erza screamed—but her cry was drowned out by the deafening roar that followed.
