Chapter 6:
Chapter 6: Arrogance:
Wearing a bathrobe, Shen Wuxiao opened a small door and stepped out. The room behind him wasn’t large—just enough to fit a bed and some basic furnishings—but exiting through that door led directly into a much larger, classroom-style space.
It was laid out exactly like a school classroom: desks, blackboard, and even a wall of blackboard newspapers at the back. The woman who had just left had played the role of a stern teacher. Shen Wuxiao, having “skipped class,” had been kept behind for “punishment,” only to talk back and turn the situation around.
“Mom doesn’t need to worry about my grades anymore,” he muttered jokingly.
Descending the stairs, Shen Wuxiao entered the grand living area of the villa—lavish and extravagantly decorated.
The women inside, upon hearing his approach, quickly formed two neat lines, heads bowed respectfully. Eight women stood in total, each embodying a different fantasy.
Based on age and type, each played a variety of roles—mature women as nurses, teachers, prison wardens, or police officers. The younger ones played the innocent schoolgirl or the stubborn tsundere type. And the more experienced types? They played the neighbor aunt, the PTA mom, the cleaner, the widow…
With Shen Wuxiao’s status, he could have anything he wanted. These women were simply indulgences—harmless and for temporary relief.
He leaned back on the leather sofa, raising his hand and curling a finger. One woman immediately walked to the wine rack, retrieved a fine bottle of red wine, opened it, and poured it into a crystal decanter.
“Come here,” Shen Wuxiao said softly, not even glancing at them.
The eight women lined up in front of him with lowered heads and hands on their waists in perfect etiquette.
“Each of you take three million and leave. Don’t come back.”
The Shen Wuxiao now was not the same as before.
He had become incredibly selective. It was fine to eat ordinary noodles once in a while, but not every day. If he wanted a woman, it had to be one the protagonist liked. You could question the dish, but never doubt the protagonist’s taste. Whoever caught the protagonist’s eye was guaranteed to be top-tier.
Why waste time and energy on these common beauties?
The women panicked at his words. “Master… Master, did we do something wrong?”
They had always done their best—obedient, cheerful, well-paid, and deeply content. None of them wanted to leave.
Shen Wuxiao replied patiently, “If you’re standing here, it means you’ve performed very well.”
“But I don’t need you anymore. Don’t worry—I may have a temper, but I keep my word. Take the money and go.”
The eight women exchanged glances, then bowed together. “Thank you, Young Master…”
They didn’t dare say anything more. To overstep would mean disaster.
After they left, Shen Wuxiao picked up his wine glass, swirled the deep red liquid gently, and took a sip.
“Tongzi, about Lin Chen’s brother, Lin Fan—I’ve already released the news. When’s he coming?”
[Ding, just follow the plot. He’ll arrive soon!]
“Hmm, do you have his script?”
[For key figures like him, when the host meets them, the system will automatically update the protagonist’s plotline.]
[The main route is still the same. Minor changes have occurred due to your interference—for example, you killed Lin Chen, causing Lin Fan to return earlier than scheduled. Originally, he would’ve been forced to leave the team later due to false charges.]
Shen Wuxiao laughed. “Tongzi, you should know—I don’t care about all that.”
[Oh, oh, I understand. The female lead is very pretty!]
“Is she?”
[Definitely.]
“Like!”
“Hehehe…”
[Hehehehehehe…]
Just then, the phone on the table rang.
Shen Wuxiao glanced at the screen. It was a call from his father.
He answered and put it on speaker.
“Wuxiao, did you cause some trouble in Zhonghai?”
Shen Tianhong’s voice was calm, not the tone of a man demanding an explanation.
Shen Wuxiao remained relaxed. He understood his father well—fiercely protective and proud of him. If he called, it was likely out of concern.
“Yeah, just a little mess. The Liu family’s gone.”
“Hahahaha! Good! I feel refreshed!” Shen Tianhong burst out laughing. “I always thought that love-struck look of yours was sickening.”
“Don’t forget your identity—you’re the heir of the Shen family. And you ran to Zhonghai to act like some love-struck fool? That was shameful.”
“But now it’s fine. They’re all dead. When are you coming back?”
Shen Wuxiao had no plans to return yet. It was too soon. Lin Fan hadn’t shown up. How could he leave now?
“Dad, I’m not done playing in Zhonghai. I want to stay a while longer.”
Shen Tianhong paused, then agreed. “Fine, enjoy yourself. Old Wu told me you’re a hidden genius.”
“You quietly broke through to sixth-rank master. I thought you weren’t interested in martial arts.”
“Just a hidden ace,” Shen Wuxiao said nonchalantly. “With the Shen family’s resources, it’s nothing to reach sixth rank just by throwing enough at it.”
“True, very true!” Shen Tianhong was clearly pleased.
“Oh, right!” he added, “The Liu family isn’t completely wiped out. They’ve got a daughter—Liu Ruyan—living in Chicago.”
“After this, she’ll probably come back.”
“Make sure the job is clean. Do you want me to handle it, or will you do it yourself?”
“Liu Ruyan?” Shen Wuxiao slapped his forehead. He’d completely forgotten about her—the so-called business prodigy.
“Just one woman. Why trouble yourself? I’ll take care of it.”
Shen Tianhong warned him, laughing, “Don’t underestimate her. When women turn cold-hearted, they’re terrifying. Your mother’s proof of that.”
“Liu Ruyan may not be in the martial arts world, but she’s cunning and ruthless. Don’t let her fool you.”
Shen Wuxiao swirled the wine in his glass and downed it in one gulp. A playful smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.
“Tricks? Even in ancient times, setting up formations took time. It doesn’t matter.”
“If she becomes a threat—just kill her. No matter how clever she is, she’s still flesh and blood.”
“Alright. Handle it your way.” Shen Tianhong ended the call.
Shen Wuxiao tossed the phone onto the coffee table, leaned back with hands behind his head, and stared up at the ceiling.
He knew the plot well.
Liu Ruyan was indeed remarkable. Her manipulations were subtle and effective. Otherwise, how could a woman with no backing rise to become the president of a financial chamber of commerce abroad in just a few years?
Either she had money—or she was incredibly smart and capable.
Either way, she was troublesome.
Shen Wuxiao didn’t want to waste time on someone like her. There were no points to gain from her, so what was the point?
Still, as a “beauty experiencer” and connoisseur, she might be worth a taste.
The real prize was Lin Fan.
