Chapter 1: A Legend's Fall
The sky wept flames.
A battlefield of ruin stretched endlessly, mountains crumbling, rivers boiling into vapor. Divine power fractured the land itself.
At the heart of the destruction stood two figures—one radiant as the stars, the other shrouded in abyssal darkness.
Yao Yan, the First Emperor. A beacon of righteousness, the man who had ascended before all others.
Mo Jin, the Demon Emperor. Once his sworn brother, now the harbinger of chaos.
Their battle had torn the heavens apart. Each clash of sword and spear sundered space, warping the void. To witness them fight was to glimpse the power of gods.
"Mo Jin!" Yao Yan's voice rang like thunder. "You still have a path back!"
Mo Jin laughed, hollow and cold. "Back? To what? Your ideals? Righteousness is a lie, Yao Yan. Power is the only truth."
A black spear shot forward, wreathed in abyssal corruption. Yao Yan twisted, his blade cleaving the darkness apart. For a moment, silence.
Then—Mo Jin staggered, blood trickling from his lips. A single misstep. The battle was over.
Yet before victory could settle, the air shuddered. A whisper of death.
A spear tore through the battlefield, silent as the wind, swift as fate.
Pain exploded in Yao Yan's chest. He staggered back, divine blood spilling onto scorched earth. His gaze lifted through the haze—
And there, among his own people, stood a figure he had never doubted.
Guo QingFeng.
His teacher.
"T…teacher…?" The word barely escaped his lips.
Guo QingFeng stepped forward, smiling—a smirk of pure disdain.
"You always stood above us, Yao Yan. Did you truly think we would let you surpass us forever?"
Betrayal. His disciples, his sect—none moved to help. Some looked away. Others watched in silence.
Yao Yan exhaled, a bitter chuckle escaping his lips. "So this is righteousness."
Guo QingFeng's gaze gleamed with cruelty. "The greatest weakness of mankind isn't hatred—it's greed. Even I am no exception."
A deep, unrestrained laugh escaped Yao Yan.
Then—he burned.
Flames erupted from his soul, golden and blinding, rising toward the heavens.
Guo QingFeng's smirk faltered. Mo Jin's eyes widened.
Even as his body turned to ash, Yao Yan stood tall. Unyielding. Unbroken.
"You may take my life," his voice rang out, "but you will never erase my will."
The fire roared, swallowing him whole.
The First Emperor had fallen.
Yet the flames did not fade.
They rose.
Higher.
Brighter.
A fire that would one day set the heavens ablaze.
