I Was Reincarnated As A Sword Spirit

Chapter 10: Blood Mist Valley

Qing'er had barely begun to recover from her battle with the Shadowfang Wolf when Yao Yan announced their next destination.

"The Blood Mist Valley," he said, gazing toward the distant mountains. "A place filled with dangers far worse than spirit beasts."

Qing'er frowned. "Blood Mist…? That doesn't sound reassuring."

Yao Yan smirked. "It isn't. But if you truly want to become stronger, this will be your first real test."

She exhaled slowly. No complaints. No hesitation. This is the path I chose.

With determination in her heart, she followed Yao Yan toward the valley.

The moment they stepped into the valley, a thick red mist surrounded them.

Qing'er shivered. The air was damp, heavy with the metallic scent of blood. The mist coiled around her like living tendrils, whispering incomprehensible words in her ears.

"Be careful," Yao Yan warned. "This place is cursed. It corrupts the minds of weak cultivators, turning them into madmen."

Qing'er's grip tightened around her sword. "Then why are we here?"

Yao Yan chuckled. "Because deep inside this valley, there is a rare treasure—the Crimson Soul Lotus. If you obtain it, your cultivation will take a major leap forward."

Qing'er's breath hitched. "A Crimson Soul Lotus…?"

She had heard of it before—a rare herb that could purify and strengthen a cultivator's soul, something even powerful sects would kill for.

But before she could respond, a sudden crack echoed through the valley.

Then—a chilling laugh.

Qing'er turned sharply, and shadowy figures emerged from the mist.

Cultivators. Their faces were twisted in madness, their eyes bloodshot.

"The Blood Mist has already consumed them," Yao Yan said calmly. "They have lost their sanity."

One of the figures grinned, revealing jagged, bloodstained teeth.

"More… blood…" the man rasped. "More… souls!"

Then—they attacked.
