Chapter 231: Parasitic Coating?
By coating her arm in her Parasitic element, she was able to directly transfer the lingering vitality found within the corpse. Of course, it would have to be fresh to a certain degree, not ones that had already decayed and become rotted.
While she may have preferred to use her Parasitic Lines to feed the needed vitality into her injured arm, it would spark the two enemies before her to attack.
Raising her arm, she roughly moved it around, checking whether or not it was properly fixed or not. Luckily, it was, but unfortunately, she was almost out of mana.
This sort of technique required a large sum of energy whilst also needing a source of what she needed.
Having already paused her volley of bullets on Lincoln, she looked towards Paul, seeing that he had already repaired the open wound in his lower abdomen by sewing it together.
She smirked, amused and also impressed.
With her sword still on the ground, she turned to the corpse beside her, crouching down and clutching its tail in her hands.
Standing up and stomping on the ground, she spun the wolf, giving it airtime before sending it towards Paul.
The masked man, stunned by the sudden corpse hauled towards him, summoned a wall of string, catching it. He then looked around it, finding Lillian dashing off towards Lincoln, who was still in the air.
The blonde man, a bit tired from dodging the rain of bullets, raised his wand towards Lillian, prepared to fire off another shot.
However, right before he could, he watched as Lillian rapidly twisted her body around, twirling and gaining momentum.
It was extremely comedic. But what happened next was far from being something to laugh at.
Partway through one of her spins, she struck the ground behind her with her sword. And her strike wasn't a stab. It was a slash.
As the edge of her blade sliced into the ground, digging through the grass and the soil beneath it, she felt a massive force explode from the moment of contact.
It was the magical recoil of the sword's restriction.
Lincoln watched in amazement as Lillian blasted several metres into the air and even managed to reach him.
He stared at Lillian's back as she made her way towards him. He became flustered at her unexpected achievement, even causing him to be flustered enough to where he lost focus in charging his attack.
While in mid-air, Lillian twisted her body around, facing Lincoln with a manic smile as she laughed proudly.
She drew back her sword arm and stabbed towards the floating mage, who woke up from his brief daze.
He unconsciously raised his wand, using it to defend himself without thinking. Because of that, her sword cleaved right through it, thus the loss of his weapon.
But fortunately for him, he was able to lean far back enough to where he was able to dodge the stab.
Lillian, seeing them, raised her free hand towards his shirt.
Tightly gripping it, she spun them around, offsetting his balance in the air. And because of that, they were now falling towards the ground.
Luckily for Lillian, she had a good enough "airbag" to soften her fall.
Using her strength that was superior to Lincoln's, surprisingly, she was able to drag him through the air and in front of her.
With him between her and the ground, they crashed harshly.
Lillian's body slammed into the blonde man, who felt as though a car had crashed his back into a wall. He even swore his chest caved in from their crash.
Lillian released her hold of Lincoln's shirt, causing her to bounce off his body and roll to the side.
She let out a pained moan and slowly got off the ground. As she was doing this, she looked towards Lincoln's body, which still laid on the ground.
She let out a low chuckle as she moved her hand below her fringe and then slicked her hair back like a certain blood mage.
"Wow... That was exciting...! Never done that before..."
Lincoln, hearing her saw this, scowled, pulling himself up to his feet, albeit at a slow pace.
"I disagree... That was a terrible experience..."
Lillian stared at him, amused, blinking at him innocently, "I'm sure being crushed by someone with my looks is exciting enough."
Lincoln cringed before holding out his hand, summoning a sword from a hidden spatial storage.
Lillian, seeing this, snorted, "What? Not true?" Before entering into a stance with him.
The two stared at one another in the eyes before dashing in, ignoring the pain from their landing.
Lillian sped forward.
Even without her mana increasing her physical capabilities, she was still fast enough to where Lincoln was taken off guard.
Raising his sword, he blocked Lillian's powerful stab that sent shivers into his arms. He then lowered his sword, blocking yet another stab that was aimed at his abdomen.
With each stab he blocked, he couldn't help but feel as though the nerves in his arms were slowly being paralysed.
These attacks—
CLANG!
—They were extremely heavy!
He couldn't help but widen his eyes in disbelief. Why were her attacks so heavy? Was she really attacking with this amount of force that was causing his arms to vibrate?
He wasn't weak by any means. He was about above average in terms of physical prowess in his class. But even he was having a hard time keeping up with Lillian's relentless stabs.
Were these stabs... The one that Paul had been surviving and enduring so nonchalantly?
Lillian, finding that his movements have grown slow and tired, found a gap in his defences.
Reeling back her sword, she shot it forth, snaking through his slack defences and stabbing it through his chest.
As soon as her sword entered his flesh and heart, she raised her free hand, lunging it towards his neck and brutally grasping it.
Having coated her hand in her Parasitic element, she began to leech off of his mana and then with her sword...
