I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic)

Chapter 454: Chapter 454 Is That Piece of White Paper That Important?

Pouring a significant amount of time into learning the Divine Script was something Moses had already anticipated.

He didn't know if he would ever master the Divine Script, nor how long it would take just to get the basics down.

However, he knew that at the very least, through this learning process, he would improve his control over his Aura.

Therefore, even if he never managed to reach mastery in the Divine Script in the end, Moses wouldn't regret this decision.

After resolving Libra Incident, Moses now had plenty of time. But...

Moses gently pushed the piece of paper with just the word 'Contract' written on it in large fonts towards Ging.

Moses has no shortage of time, but Ging was a different story.

Watching Moses's actions, Jin Ging couldn't help but roll his eyes again, and at the same time, he felt inexplicably guilty.

While Ging hadn't offered to teach Moses the Divine Script on a whim, he certainly hadn't planned to devote much time to it.

So it is very likely that he suddenly had an impulse while teaching and then suddenly vanish again.

Now, Moses's actions seemed to ask him to sign a contract to sell himself...

'Could it be that Moses knew about my reputation for bailing out halfway, and had prepared this in advance?'

'Alas, is there no trust between people anymore?'

Ging shook his head inwardly.

"The process of learning the Divine Script is quite dull. Even correcting just one step might require you to repeat it tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of times. So, the Divine Script and 'quick results' never go hand in hand. You need to prepare yourself mentally."

As Ging spoke, he discreetly pushed the unsigned contract paper back a little.

"I'm already mentally prepared for a long battle."

Moses smiled as he pushed the paper with the pen on top back towards Ging.

"That's good. Mindset is very important before learning the Divine Script."

Ging looked at Moses, and with a natural movement of his index finger, he flicked the edge of the paper, sending it sliding back towards Moses.

"Don't worry, Teacher Ging, I won't disappoint your expectations."

Moses put on a solemn and serious attitude, then used both hands to push the paper and pen straight to the edge of the table, where they nearly touched Ging.

"…"

Ging glanced subtly at the edge of the paper, now hanging precariously off the table. He paused for a moment, then smiled brightly and said seriously: "Well, I'm confident that with your ability, you'll definitely learn this skill well."

Before he finished his words, the paper that was only a palm's distance away from Ging suddenly moved by itself back to Moses's side.

It was Ging, who quietly used his Aura to move it, even using In to conceal his Aura.

"Whether I can learn it or not also depends on the teacher."

Moses lightly placed his right hand on the corner of the table, looked at Jin sincerely, and said, "I believe that even if my talent is not that great, under the guidance of Teacher Ging, I will definitely be able to overcome the toughest hurdles."

Again, before he finished his words, the paper once again slid back toward Ging.

However, this time, the paper seemed to hit an invisible wall midway and abruptly stopped in the middle of the table, showing no further signs of movement.

"Haha, you're overestimating me."

Ging met Moses's sincere gaze with a completely serious expression.

In front of the door…

Menchi was holding a plate of delicious food that was wafting with a delicious aroma, and looked blankly at Moses and Ging who were smiling at each other.

With her sharp vision, Menchi could clearly see the contents of the paper.

Besides the large 'Contract' word, the rest was completely blank.

'But why...'

Menchi discreetly focused her Nen into her eyes, and then saw the Nen coming from Moses and Ging that was wrestling with each other.

'What's happening?!'

'Is that piece of white paper that important?!'

Menchi suddenly realized that perhaps the paper had something written on it that required Gyo to be seen.

So, she turned her gaze and looked at the white paper again.

'Nothing?'

Menchi was baffled.

It was just a blank sheet of paper with the word 'Contract', yet in Moses and Ging's eyes, it seemed as though it was already filled with terms.

Based on his understanding of Ging from the original work, Moses knew that even if Ging agreed to teach him the Divine Script, there was a high chance that Ging would bail out halfway through.

In order to prevent this from happening, Moses brazenly pulled out a piece of paper and created a contract.

Every regular Pro Hunter attaches great importance to the concept of contracts.

Therefore, as long as the contract was signed, even Netero, who is as unreasonable as he is, will take the contents of the contract seriously, let alone Ging.

The moment Ging saw the word 'Contract', he immediately understood everything.

In order to prevent the situation Moses envisioned, Ging would have to extinguish the flames before they spread, giving Moses no chance to escalate things.

Any contract that interferes with his freedom, no matter what form it is, should never be signed!

Though Ging didn't show it explicitly, he was very firm on this matter.

And why would he have such attitude?

Because he was tricked by Netero once!

Netero, who was far away in Swardani City, suddenly sneezed.

"Hoho, I suddenly remembered something interesting."

Sitting cross-legged on a tatami mat, Netero lowered his gaze to the piece of paper in front of him.

On the sturdy paper were written the names 'Moses Isaac' and 'Ging Freecss'.

"The possibility... is still there."

Netero muttered softly.

He wasn't sure if the current interaction between Moses and Ging was a good or bad thing.

He just hoped that Ging wouldn't become as much of a headache as before.

At least, so far, Moses didn't exhibit the pure curiosity that was typical of Ging.

In fact, Moses seemed more like the former Biscuit, a fighter through and through, filled with an unwavering drive to seek strength.

'If that's the case-'

'At least he shouldn't be dragged into the Dark Continent by Ging.'

By the time the airship landed, Moses still hadn't managed to get Ging to sign the contract.

On this matter, Ging's attitude was unwavering.

In the end, Moses had no choice but to give up.

This meant he had to make the most of Ging's 'short attention span' to grasp as much as he could about the basics of the Divine Script.

He didn't expect to break through immediately, but at least he had to solidify the foundation.

'No wonder he left Gon on Whale Island.'

Moses realized that he had seriously underestimated Ging's yearning for freedom.

Since the contract idea was a bust, he could only mentally prepare himself for the possibility that Ging might bail at any moment.

In any case, getting Ging to personally teach him the Divine Script was a rare opportunity in itself.

Moses resolved to treasure this chance no matter what.
