Chapter 776: Guardian God? (Part 2)

His voice reverberated through the empty hall, every word seemingly imbued with endless power.

Qing Shuang stood nervously beside Luo Chen; she could feel that power but was more curious about the unknown.

"Guardian God, we mean no offense, just hope to find a way back to the real world."

Qing Shuang said respectfully.

The Guardian God smiled slightly, and that smile seemed to contain compassion for these two mortals.

"You have already embarked on this path. To return, you must complete a task."

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang exchanged a glance, knowing that this might be their only way out.

"Please guide us, Guardian God, we are willing to accept any trial."

Luo Chen said firmly.

The Guardian God nodded, and with a slight wave of his finger, the hall's floor suddenly cracked open, revealing a rotating Light Gate.

"Through this Light Gate, you will enter a trial land where you must find three Divine Artifacts and bring them back here."

"Three Divine Artifacts?" Qing Shuang asked in confusion.

"Yes, three Divine Artifacts, only by collecting them will you be able to open the gate to the real world."

The Guardian God's voice rang out again, full of indisputable authority.

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang did not hesitate; they knew time was tight, and every moment could mean life or death.

They tightly held each other's hands and stepped into the Light Gate together.

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves standing in a strange forest.

The trees were tall and twisted, emitting a faint blue light between the branches, as if they belonged to another world.

"We must be careful; everything here is filled with the unknown." Luo Chen whispered a reminder.

Qing Shuang nodded, she took out a piece of Talisman Paper from her waist and gently waved it, turning it into a stream of light that flew into the sky, illuminating the path ahead.

They cautiously traversed the forest, the silence around them unsettling.

Luo Chen gripped the sword hilt tightly, watching the surroundings vigilantly, while Qing Shuang occasionally used Talisman Paper to scout for potential dangers.

"Luo Chen, look over there." Qing Shuang suddenly whispered, pointing to a clearing not far away.

Luo Chen looked in the direction she pointed to and saw an ancient altar in the clearing, with a strange item emitting a faint glow in the center.

"That should be one of the Divine Artifacts the Guardian God mentioned." Luo Chen said, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes.

They slowly approached the altar, with Luo Chen looking around cautiously, while Qing Shuang began trying to decode the runes on the altar.

"These runes seem to record some ancient ritual." Qing Shuang whispered, her fingers gently brushing over the rune patterns.

"We must be careful not to trigger any mechanisms." Luo Chen reminded, knowing that ancient relics often hide unknown dangers.

Just as they were about to delve further, the ground around the altar started shaking, and cracks quickly spread.

"Quick, move back!" Luo Chen shouted, pulling Qing Shuang back swiftly.

As the cracks widened, a massive figure rose slowly from the ground, a giant made of stone with red light flickering in its eyes.

"It seems we've triggered some kind of protection mechanism." Qing Shuang said with a frown.

Luo Chen drew his sword, ready to face this sudden enemy.

"Qing Shuang, step back. I'll handle this." Luo Chen said solemnly, his eyes filled with determination.

Qing Shuang nodded; she knew Luo Chen's strength and understood she needed to provide support from the side.

Luo Chen engaged in a fierce battle with the stone giant, the clash of Sword Light and stone echoing through the forest.

Qing Shuang used Talisman Paper to assist Luo Chen while seeking opportunities to attack the stone giant's weak points.

After a tough fight, Luo Chen finally found the stone giant's flaw and pierced its chest with a single blow.

The stone giant let out a roar and then crumbled into pile of rubble scattered on the ground.

Luo Chen gasped for air, turning to look at Qing Shuang, and they exchanged a smile of relief.

"Looks like we've found the first Divine Artifact."

Qing Shuang said as she approached the altar and carefully picked up the glowing item.

"Let's keep moving forward; there are still two more Divine Artifacts waiting for us."

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang continued deeper into the forest, knowing this was just the beginning and more challenges awaited them ahead.

The air in the forest was damp and oppressive, occasionally mingled with strange cries from afar, heightening their vigilance.

"Luo Chen, do you feel like the atmosphere here is becoming more eerie?" Qing Shuang asked softly, her gaze roaming around, trying to catch anything unusual.

"Yes, I feel it too, but we can't let it distract us. We must focus on finding the remaining two Divine Artifacts." Luo Chen replied, his eyes firm, gripping the hilt of his sword tighter.

They continued onward and soon reached an open clearing.

In the center of the clearing stood an ancient stone bridge, its other side seemingly leading to an even darker area.

The stone bridge was covered in moss and vines, appearing extremely old and mysterious.

"Let's cross the bridge and take a look." Luo Chen suggested.

Qing Shuang nodded, and the two carefully stepped onto the stone bridge.

The bridge surface was somewhat slippery, forcing them to slow down to avoid slipping.

As they walked to the middle of the bridge, a deep roar suddenly echoed from under it, followed by a giant Water Dragon rising from the river with its jaws wide open, attacking them.

"Watch out!" Luo Chen shouted, quickly pulling Qing Shuang behind him while swinging his sword to intercept.

The Water Dragon's attack was blocked by Luo Chen's Sword Qi, but its immense power pushed Luo Chen and Qing Shuang backward.

Qing Shuang quickly reacted, pulling out a piece of Talisman Paper from her waist, chanting words as the Talisman Paper transformed into a beam of golden light that shot towards the Water Dragon.

The golden light collided with the Water Dragon, erupting in a dazzling flash.

The Water Dragon let out a wail and gradually dissipated into the air.

Only then did Luo Chen and Qing Shuang breathe a sigh of relief, knowing this was merely part of the trial and the real challenge lay ahead.

After crossing the bridge, they arrived at a marshland shrouded in mist.

The marshland was filled with a putrid scent, the surrounding plants twisted unusually, as if telling tales of this world's anomaly.

"The aura here makes me uneasy." Qing Shuang said with a frown.

"We should be careful not to be swallowed by the marsh." Luo Chen warned, starting to probe the ground with the tip of his sword to find a safe path.

Just as they cautiously moved forward, the marshland ground started to squirm, and giant tentacles extended from the mud, attacking them.

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang immediately spread out, each battling these sudden foes.

Luo Chen wielded the Longsword, Sword Light flowing like water, severing the tentacles one by one.

Qing Shuang used the power of Talisman Paper, summoning flames to burn the approaching tentacles.

After a fierce fight, they finally destroyed all the tentacles.

Though exhausted, their eyes shimmered with unwavering determination.

They knew that as long as they continued, they would surely find the remaining two Divine Artifacts.

"Let's keep going, Qing Shuang." Luo Chen said, his voice a bit hoarse but filled with resolve.

Qing Shuang nodded, retrieving a new Talisman Paper from her waist, gently waving it, turning it into a soft glow lighting the path ahead.

They moved forward, crossed the marshland, and arrived at a desolate plain.

The plain was barren except for the sand stirred by the wind blowing through.

At the end of the plain, they saw an ancient temple, its entrance adorned with a Light Gate, seemingly leading to the next trial.

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang exchanged a glance, knowing that this would be their greatest challenge yet.
