Chapter 788: Seeking Iron Spirit Grass! (Part 2)
"This is truly an unexpected gain," Luo Chen said, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
They carefully entered the cave, fearing to disturb any guardian creatures within.
Fortunately, there were no creatures in the cave, only the Zixin Vine growing quietly there.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang collected some Zixin Vine and left the cave directly.
By that time, they were already deep within Luojia Mountain.
In places like this, the deeper in you go, the more dangerous it becomes.
Moreover, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang had gathered almost enough materials, so they had the intention to leave.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang stood at the cave's exit, looking at the perilous Luojia Mountain outside, a feeling of reflection rising in their hearts.
They knew that although they had gained a lot in this journey, the dangers of Luojia Mountain were far from over.
"Luo Chen, are we really leaving?" Qing Shuang asked reluctantly.
Luo Chen nodded, his gaze firm: "Yes, we have already gotten enough materials. Going further might result in unforeseen dangers, plus we need time to refine these materials and enhance our strength."
Upon hearing this, Qing Shuang understood that Luo Chen was right and said no more.
The two packed up their bags, preparing to head back.
However, just as they were about to leave, a rapid succession of footsteps came from afar.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang immediately became alert, quickly finding a concealed spot to hide.
Before long, a group of cultivators appeared in their line of sight.
These cultivators looked extremely exhausted, as if they had just been through an intense battle.
"It seems the dangers of Luojia Mountain are more than we imagined," Luo Chen whispered.
Qing Shuang nodded in agreement, knowing Luo Chen was right.
They silently observed the group of cultivators, not daring to make any sound.
After a brief rest near the cave, the group of cultivators continued on their way.
Only after they had gone far did Luo Chen and Qing Shuang emerge from hiding.
"Let's go, Qing Shuang," said Luo Chen.
Qing Shuang nodded, and the two began retracing their steps back.
On their way, they cautiously avoided many potential dangers.
Just as they were about to leave Luojia Mountain, suddenly a strong light descended from the sky, enveloping them.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang felt a wave of dizziness, and when they opened their eyes again, they found themselves no longer in Luojia Mountain, but in an unfamiliar place.
"Where is this place?" Qing Shuang asked in surprise and doubt.
Luo Chen surveyed the surroundings and found it to be a wasteland, shrouded in thick mist, obscuring the road ahead.
"It seems we've been teleported to an unknown place," Luo Chen said in a deep voice.
Upon hearing this, Qing Shuang felt a little panic, but quickly composed herself, knowing now wasn't the time to panic.
"Luo Chen, what should we do?" Qing Shuang asked.
Luo Chen pondered for a moment and then said, "Let's look around first and see if we can find any clues."
The two began exploring the wasteland, hoping to find some useful clues.
However, the wasteland seemed endless, and after walking for a long time, they found nothing unusual.
Just as they began to feel a sense of despair, a dilapidated temple suddenly appeared ahead.
Though in disrepair, the temple stood out in the wasteland.
"Luo Chen, look over there!" Qing Shuang pointed at the temple.
Luo Chen nodded, and the two cautiously approached the temple.
The temple's doors were tightly shut, covered in dust and cobwebs.
Luo Chen gently pushed the door open, producing a creaking sound as it slowly opened.
They entered the temple to find it empty, with only a weathered statue standing in the center.
"It seems no one's been here for a long time," Qing Shuang remarked.
Luo Chen nodded, stepping forward to examine the statue closely.
Suddenly, he noticed something unusual about the statue's base.
"Qing Shuang, look here," Luo Chen pointed to a groove on the statue's base.
Qing Shuang came over and, upon closer inspection, found the groove seemed meant for placing some kind of item.
"Could it be a mechanism for opening something?" Qing Shuang speculated.
Luo Chen thought for a moment, taking out a crystal stone from his pocket, obtained earlier in Luojia Mountain.
He placed the crystal stone into the groove, and the statue suddenly emitted a gleam, as the temple floor began vibrating.
"Get back!" Luo Chen shouted.
The two quickly retreated, watching as the central floor of the temple slowly opened, revealing a downward staircase.
"Looks like there's a secret hidden here," Qing Shuang said.
Luo Chen nodded, his heart filled with curiosity and anticipation as he looked at the stairs.
"Let's go down and take a look," said Luo Chen.
The two descended the stairs to find a stone gate at the end.
The stone gate was engraved with ancient runes, emitting a faint glow.
Luo Chen carefully studied the runes on the stone gate, realizing they seemed like an ancient seal.
"Qing Shuang, can you break this seal?" Luo Chen asked.
Qing Shuang nodded, taking out a piece of talisman paper and began drawing a dispelling talisman on it.
Soon, the talisman on the paper was complete.
Qing Shuang placed the paper on the stone gate; the talisman glowed, and the seal on the gate started to dissipate gradually.
"We did it!" Qing Shuang said excitedly.
The stone gate slowly opened, revealing a spacious underground chamber.
The chamber was filled with ancient books and scrolls, along with some strange magic artifacts.
"This seems to be a library," Luo Chen said.
Qing Shuang walked to a shelf, picked up an ancient book, and upon opening it, found it recorded many lost artifact refining methods.
"Luo Chen, look at this!" Qing Shuang said excitedly.
Luo Chen came over, took the book, and began to read through it carefully.
He discovered not only were these artifact refining methods long lost, but many of them were profound enough to greatly elevate their artifact refining skills.
"Qing Shuang, we've found a treasure," Luo Chen said.
Qing Shuang nodded, knowing what these books and artifacts meant for them.
"We have to take all of these back," Qing Shuang said.
Luo Chen nodded, and they began to search the chamber, gathering all useful books and artifacts.
After a lot of work, they finally organized everything.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang, carrying these precious books and artifacts, left the underground chamber and returned to the surface.
"Now, we should head back," Luo Chen said.
Qing Shuang nodded, and the two climbed the stairs and left the temple, returning once more to the wasteland.
"We need to find the way back," Luo Chen said.
Qing Shuang nodded, knowing Luo Chen was right.
They started searching for a way out in the wasteland, hoping to find a way back to the Cultivation Realm.
After much effort, they finally found a transmission array.
The transmission array, though old, was still functional.
"Let's go," Luo Chen said.
Qing Shuang nodded, and the two stepped onto the transmission array and activated it.
A flash of light, and when Luo Chen and Qing Shuang opened their eyes again, they found themselves back in the Cultivation Realm.
"That was close,"
"But fortunately, we're back."
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang stood by the transmission array, gazing at the familiar surroundings, breathing a sigh of relief.
They knew this adventure, though filled with unknowns and dangers, brought unimaginable gains as well.
"Let's find a place to rest first, then consider the next step in our plan," Luo Chen suggested.
Qing Shuang nodded, feeling a bit tired herself.
They left the transmission array and headed towards the nearest town.
In town, they found a quiet inn and rented a room.
Luo Chen and Qing Shuang sorted out their gear briefly, then settled at a table to organize the items obtained from their adventure.
"Luo Chen, take a look at this," Qing Shuang picked up an ancient book and handed it to Luo Chen.
