Immortality Starts From Making Money.

Chapter 201: Destruction of the Golden Pavilion.

Looking at the corpse of the previously arrogant woman, everyone held their breath in shock. The air reeked with the stench of fresh blood.

Some turned their heads and looked in the direction of the Thousand Wealth Chamber, feeling a cold shiver run down their spines.

Time and time again, the Thousand Wealth Chamber had proven themselves to be unstable.

Since their arrival at the capital, every force that went against them had been destroyed. As for those that managed to survive, their foundation had been destroyed and would take decades to recover.

Looking at the ruins, once again, they had shown their overwhelming might.

Against a stage 2 Golden Core Expert, it only took a stage 1 Golden Core Expert from the Thousand Wealth Chamber to kill her in two strikes.

Swift and simple.

Those who were furious at the Seven Talisman Trade Hall for destroying their stores held back their grievances.

Now that there was no longer a Seven Talisman Trade Hall in the capital, they could only swallow their grievances and try to look for a solution.

After a couple of minutes, the quiet onlookers began to approach the devastated battlefield.

At first, everywhere was calm and some were even sympathetic toward the lost soul. But quickly, things took a drastic turn.

"Quick, tell me what you found?" a voice asked, looking at the petty woman a couple of feet from her.

The petty woman looked at the middle-aged man with vigilance and prepared to depart, clenching tightly to the spatial pouch in her hand.

"Wait! Where are you going?" the man shouted, his face etched with greed.

The petty woman did not respond and increased her stride.

Their short interaction had quickly garnered people's interest.

"What's she holding?"

"She must have found something important."

The crowd began to speculate, and a lot of greedy people began to approach the woman.

Seeing this, fear gnawed at the petty woman. She bit her lip, unsure of how to react.

She had discovered a spatial pouch of one of the elders, and it contained a lot of wealth that could change her family's situation.

Unfortunately, the sudden fortune brought along danger she couldn't handle. She was merely a stage 3 Foundation realm warrior.

Compared to the people aiming at her, her meager strength was nothing.

"Stop!" a man said sharply, crossing her path, leaving no room for escape. "Show me what's inside the spatial pouch and we can share it equally."

With the man's presence, those approaching halted in their tracks and glared at the woman.

The petty woman looked at the domineering man who would take no for an answer in panic.

She contemplated for a moment and looked at those outside the ruins. Among them, she could see people writing seriously in their books, while some were using a strange artifact to capture the scene.

"This belongs to me. If you want, go search for yourself." She summoned all her courage to speak.

Hmm?

The man and everyone were surprised. No one expected such a weak woman to say that.

The man sneered, "Then let's see how you leave here alive." He threatened, and a few strands of Core Refining aura leaked out of his body.

"Are you threatening me?" she scoffed. "You see those people? They work for the Times newspaper. If anything happens to me, you know what will happen, right?"

Stunned!

The people that wanted to fish in troubled water widened their eyes.

They shifted their gaze and looked at the group writing in their books and felt a cold shiver down their spines.

They all knew them.

They were called reporters.

Since the establishment of the Times newspaper, many had tried to attack the reporters for trying to expose their secrets.

And every time that happened, the group mysteriously disappeared with no trace.

Since then, everyone had learned their lesson. Those people were untouchable.

The man swallowed the lump in his throat. His previous arrogance vanished into thin air.

If he did not want to appear on the front page of the Times newspaper tomorrow, he knew better than to oppose the woman.

"Hahaha. I'm just playing with you." He forced out a laugh. "You can leave. With me here, no one will disturb you." He puffed out his chest righteously.

Watching his shameless action, the crowd rolled their eyes and returned to the ruins as they all wanted to try their luck.

Breathing a sigh of relief, the petty woman departed in large strides. 'Hahaha. With this, the fortune of my family will change forever,' she screamed excitedly in her heart.

With the woman's departure, a lot of people rushed into the ruins and began to search for their own opportunities.

Every few minutes, a shout of joy echoed in the air as others found rare artifacts or high-tier talismans.

Quickly, the Seven Talisman Trade Hall ruins were in chaos. People began to search the dead bodies, even going as far as stripping them clean, leaving only their innerwear.

Boom!

Suddenly, a thunderous sound echoed in the air followed by horrifying shockwaves.

Everyone in the commercial district was filled with dread. Those scavenging at the Seven Talisman Trade Hall halted their actions.

Fear and confusion marred their faces.

What was going on? This was the question on everyone's mind.

While they were wondering, two people shot into the sky. They were locked in a fierce battle.

Bang! Bang!

The shockwaves from their attacks spread beyond the commerce district.

Terror reigned in everyone's hearts.

This was the second battle today.

What was really going on?

"Ah! That is the Sect Master of the Nine Mountain Sect!" a voice shouted.

Quickly, many people recognized the sturdy middle-aged man fighting fiercely with the thin man.

In the sky, the Nine Mountain Sect Master was confronting the thin man with overbearing momentum.

Each punch was enough to obliterate a small mountain. His firm muscles contained unimaginable power.

Opposite him, the thin middle-aged man was stunned. He had been protecting his young master for many decades in this backward region.

He never expected there would be so many hidden experts.

The previous blinding strike from the Seven Talisman Trade Hall ruins had already stressed him out.

But who would have expected they would attack afterward?

Worst of all, the attacker was no weakling.

"Nine Mountain Revolving Fist," the Nine Mountain Sect Master whispered.

This was one of the top-tier techniques of the Nine Mountain Sect.

A massive qi of mountain appeared in the sky, dashing toward the thin man, trying to crush him to pieces.

Watching the terrifying attack, the thin man wore a solemn expression. Without holding back, he used his powerful technique.

"Flickering Star Finger."

Whoosh!

A long, sharp qi needle appeared in the sky, traveling at a dazzling speed toward the crushing mountain.

Boom!

The two strikes collided, heaven and earth trembling vehemently.

Those watching from below rushed to escape from the aftershock that surged toward them at a blinding speed.

Buildings were destroyed, flattened where they stood.

Ahhhh!

Those unfortunate not to escape in time were crushed. Many used their life-saving techniques to withstand the aftershock.

Meanwhile in the sky, the battle had taken another turn.

A swift, sharp sword strike appeared behind the thin man, catching him off guard.

"What!"

He widened his eyes but reacted quickly. He took out a defensive talisman from his spatial pouch and tore it.

Instantly, a defensive light shield surrounded him.

Bang!

The sword strike hit the shield and failed to cut through. However, the man was not relieved. His face was marred with fear and panic.

Rushing toward him was another mountain fist.

Boom! Boom!

The Nine Mountain Sect Master threw three powerful punches in quick succession, while the Wind Spirit Sect Master supported from the side.

His attacks were no less deadly than the Nine Mountain Sect Master's.

Shattered!

The bright light shield protecting the thin man shattered to pieces under the joint attack of the two sect masters.

And a deadly punch slammed into his chest.

Ahhh!

A miserable scream escaped from his lips as he was sent flying downward.

Boom!

He crashed heavily into a building, turning it to wreckage. Those hiding inside screamed and dashed out.

Without caring about the people, the two sect masters descended sharply and attacked.

A few seconds later, the thin man was dragged out of the destroyed building.

His chest caved in, his bones fractured to pieces, and his face was mangled in blood and flesh—dead.

The two sect masters did not bat an eye at him as they rose to the sky and disappeared.

Their mission was far from over.

...

Inside the Blackscale Forest, the Governor and the sect masters strode quietly. As if the forest had sensed their presence, it was eerily silent.

All the previous chirping of insects and beast howls had long vanished. The wind blew gently, and the trees stood frozen.

Slowly, they approached their target.

This was a covert operation. They did not want to startle their prey.

In the lead, the Frost Moon Sect Master saw the small hill covered in vines and gestured with her finger.

'This is the location.'
