Chapter 52 - Kennō!

Every Zanpakutō possesses its own soul, thoughts, and personality, as well as its own physical manifestation.

Ichigo Kurosaki once used the Reishi vessel to materialize the essence of Zangetsu, thereby mastering his Bankai.

In normal circumstances, a Shinigami must enter the spiritual world where their Zanpakutō's essence resides through meditation, to communicate with its essence.

They doubted their ears.

Gilgamesh had said "Bankai."

Was he about to unleash Bankai? Or Tōsen's Bankai?

Their gazes all focused on Suzumushi in Gilgamesh's hand.

Gin even forgot to attack the barrier.

If Gilgamesh could truly unleash Tōsen's Bankai, their worldview would collapse.

Gilgamesh, however, wasn't surprised.

He knew Suzumushi's essence was resisting his command.

It was normal, as he wasn't Suzumushi's master.

At that moment, Gilgamesh seemed to remember something. He set Suzumushi before him, and a golden ripple appeared.

A Zanpakutō emerged from the ripple.

This Zanpakutō was the Asauchi Gilgamesh had received from the Shin'ō Academy.

It was unique, a blank slate without its own consciousness or abilities.

This was due to Gilgamesh's confusion about what kind of Zanpakutō he wanted.

With his King's Treasury, it seemed he lacked nothing.

But now, Gilgamesh knew what kind of Zanpakutō he desired.

Under the gazes of Yoruichi, Tōsen, and Gin, Gilgamesh took the Zanpakutō, exuding an imposing royal authority, solemnly declaring,

"Under heaven, there is no land that is not the king's land, within the seas, there is no land that is not the king's subject."

"I am the king who rules over all people. My Zanpakutō shall be the king that rules over all Zanpakutō, its name is—"

"Kennō!"

With that, Gilgamesh pointed Kennō at Suzumushi and commanded, "Bankai: Suzumushi Tsuishiki: Enma Kōrogi!"

As the words fell, Suzumushi… unleashed Bankai!
