After Yachiru and Zaraki left, Gilgamesh's face showed a look of interest as he muttered to himself, "So Yamamoto has returned."

"He's been quite low-key about it. If it weren't for understanding Zaraki's thoughts, I wouldn't have known."

Shaking his head slightly, Gilgamesh decided not to dwell on the matter.

After that battle, Yamamoto was unlikely to come looking for him anytime soon.

However, Yoruichi, who overheard Gilgamesh's muttering, was extremely curious. She was about to ask questions when she noticed a group of students approaching from a distance.

These students were clearly heading toward Gilgamesh, looking as enthusiastic as idol fans in the real world.

This made Yoruichi suppress her curiosity, though the questions in her mind didn't fade away.

'Did he come to see the King while I was gone?'

Unable to bear the torment of her curiosity any longer, Yoruichi jumped out of Gilgamesh's embrace, intending to find Renji and Rukia to exchange information.

After a long while, he pressed the final button, causing lines of code to flash rapidly on the large screen in front of him until the words "Analysis Failed" appeared.

Mayuri wasn't surprised by the result.

After Gilgamesh's battle with Yamamoto, Mayuri conducted a thorough and complex analysis of the battleground.

The results revealed an unprecedented energy residue at the scene.

This energy was so mysterious and scarce that he couldn't analyze anything from it.

To gain more insights, Mayuri made a deal with Gilgamesh: he would help monitor the movements of Seireitei's higher-ups, including Central 46, while Gilgamesh would provide research materials.

Mayuri readily agreed. To him, the research was far more important than Central 46.

Although installing surveillance in Central 46 was tricky, it was doable for Mayuri.

Currently, he was researching a top-grade gem filled with magical energy.

Initially, Mayuri thought he could quickly analyze the essence of this magical power.

But nearly a month had passed, and he had made no progress, not even a foot in the door.

Nonetheless, Mayuri wasn't disheartened. He had always been patient with things that piqued his interest.

He knew that Nemu's changes started when he tasked her with regularly informing Gilgamesh about the movements of Seireitei's higher-ups.

In other words, Nemu's anomaly was related to Gilgamesh.

Perhaps Gilgamesh had done something to her.

Given how mysterious Gilgamesh was, it was plausible that Mayuri couldn't detect anything.

Because of this, Mayuri hadn't dissected Nemu for study.

Partly out of fear that even dissection would yield nothing, and partly because he was wary of Gilgamesh.

Nemu herself was unaware of her anomaly.

At that moment, she stood before Mayuri, reporting the latest meeting of Central 46.

Though Nemu's tone was as calm as ever, Mayuri could detect worry and anxiety in her voice.

'Worry?'

'Anxiety?'

'Wait, does Nemu have feelings for Gilgamesh!?'
