Chapter 11: chapter 11
Izuku's Unexpected Encounter
As Izuku walked down the road after school, he suddenly heard the cry of a cat and a young boy's voice in distress. Trouble.
In the past, he wouldn't have meddled in situations like this—just called the police and left. But today, he had a feeling. A gut instinct. If he followed this feeling, he might meet All Might.
Still, he didn't rush in blindly. Rolling up his sleeve, he revealed a simple green-and-white band with a button in the center. He pressed it, and the band transformed into a sleek, metallic glove covering his hand.
Thunder Glove. A self-defense device Izuku had created.
It had multiple functions:
Electrocution: Stun enemies.
Holographic Shield: Block attacks.
Telekinetic Attraction: Pull objects and even people (up to 800 kg).
Heat Beam: Attack with concentrated energy.
Self-Charging: Runs for 12 hours and fully recharges in 15 minutes.
With his glove activated, Izuku cautiously approached the source of the noise.
Arriving at the scene, he saw a muscular man fighting a shadowy figure—pure black, like living darkness. Nearby, a small black cat sat atop an unconscious middle schooler.
Something was wrong.
Black smoke-like energy was rising from the boy, flowing into the cat. Absorbing something.
Izuku's eyes narrowed. A quirk-awakened animal.
He had read about rare cases where animals awakened quirks, just like humans. This cat's ability was clearly shadow-based. Most likely, it had just awakened due to witnessing the intense battle between All Might and the villain.
"All Might!" Izuku called out.
The Number One Hero, in his towering muscular form, glanced at him and warned, "Young man, back away! This area is dangerous!"
Just as All Might was about to finish off the shadowy villain, smoke suddenly surged from his own body.
Then, he shrank.
The mighty symbol of peace collapsed, revealing a thin, skeleton-like man.
Izuku's eyes widened. "Are you an imposter?"
All Might's expression darkened. "Not good…"
The villain took advantage of All Might's weakened state, punching him and sending him flying.
Without hesitation, Izuku acted.
He threw a small ball, and the moment it hit the ground, thick smoke exploded into the air.
In the confusion, he swiftly pulled out two metal disks and hurled them at the shadowy villain. The disks glowed, releasing binding energy that locked the villain's movements.
Before the villain could break free, Izuku activated his Thunder Glove and electrocuted him.
The shadow dissipated instantly.
A loud cry came from the cat. Izuku rushed toward it, seeing its body tremble, still connected to the unconscious boy by that black smoke.
Without wasting time, he stunned the cat with a low-voltage shock, making it pass out. He quickly secured a collar around its neck—a device designed to track and regulate quirk-awakened animals.
Checking the boy, he confirmed that the kid was still breathing. Unconscious, but stable.
Izuku then turned to All Might, who was slowly getting up. "Fake All Might, are you okay?"
The man sighed. "I'm not fake. I'm the real All Might."
Izuku frowned. "…Then why do you look like this?"
All Might exhaled deeply and lifted his shirt slightly, revealing a terrible, gnarled scar on his stomach.
"This wound… I got it five years ago in a battle against a villain," he admitted. "I lost my entire stomach and part of my respiratory system. Even after multiple surgeries, I can only maintain my hero form for three hours a day."
Izuku's eyes narrowed. "Five years ago… Toxic Chainsaw?"
All Might looked surprised. "You know your history well. That was the official story. But in reality, the wound came from another fight—one I asked to keep secret."
The Number One Hero studied the boy in front of him. This kid didn't just react quickly—he fought with precision. His body was trained, his intelligence sharp, and his gadgets high quality.
He smiled. "You helped me out today. I owe you one. Tell me—what can I do for you?"
Izuku glanced at the unconscious cat in his arms and said, "Help me adopt this cat."
All Might blinked. "That's it? No money? No recommendation letter?"
Izuku smiled. "Because I'm quirkless. And if I want to be a hero, I need a companion." Then, with a small smile, he added, "Besides, I think this cat needs someone to look after him."
All Might stared at him. Quirkless. Yet, he fought bravely. He had brains, strength, and courage.
He could see it.
This boy… could be the one.
Still, he needed time to be sure.
After a moment of thought, he nodded. "Alright, I'll help."
Then he gestured to Izuku's glove. "By the way, that's impressive tech. Where did you get it?"
Izuku smirked. "I made it myself."
"…You made it?"
Izuku pulled out a small holographic business card and handed it over.
[Sync Limited Corporation – Founder & CEO: Izuku Midoriya]
All Might's eyes widened. "…Wait. YOU'RE the owner of Sync Limited? The company making cutting-edge hero support tech?"
Izuku nodded. "That's right."
