Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 133: {[Heartless Ice King’s Domain (Low Purple-rank)]} - [Semi-CLEARED]

Cassius sighed while splitting up the blood of the Ice Yetis with his happily vibrating Lilith. The hundreds of Ice Yetis were swiftly drained dry, meaning that it was time to begin the hunt again. Luckily, there were several powerful S-Rank presences popping up in multiple different parts of the extremely expansive domain that was the Low Purple-rank Gate known as 'Heartless Ice King's Domain.'

As the name of the Gate implied, there was a mighty Monster dubbed the 'Heartless Ice King.'

That terrifyingly domineering and massive monster resided within the very depths of this Gate the size of a moon. Naturally, it was the Boss Monster, and according to reports made by the S-Rank groups who cleared this Gate before, that behemoth was the size of a city and sat near the limit of what a small country could manage. Just a single one of its paws would be able to flatten villages and towns, leaving hundreds of thousands of deaths in its wake.

And if the Heartless Ice King, the bigfuck of an ice bear, ever unleashed its ridiculously cold ice beam, entire countries would turn into ice cubes!

"At least, that is what they say," muttered Cassius, his piercing bluish-red eyes zooming past the S- 'Permafrost Hawks,' which served as the Mini Bosses of the Gate. "But as with most rumors, they're usually exaggerated."

He honed in on a large plot of land that appeared unnatural. The land occasionally shook and wiggled around in ways that didn't make much sense. It was only after two windy streams of breath blew out like unstoppable air blasts that one would notice a pair of black flaring nostrils the size of small towns.

{[Heartless Ice King (S-Rank)(Boss Monster)]} - [Danger Rating: High-Yellow]

Cassius knew not to trust Danger Ratings anymore. That was unless they were in the Flashing Red or Black range. Otherwise, they were highly varied and didn't do much to accurately gauge the danger he faced with his skewed attributes thrown into the mix.

"For something like this… A simple attack should work." Cassius coldly snorted as he stuck up his right index finger and concentrated a reddish-purple energy at his fingertip.

The energy appeared as if it were frozen in place when, in actuality, it was spinning and gathering more energy at a speed so fast that the speed couldn't even be properly perceived. It was only after two seconds of amassing energy that he spoke the name of one of his most-used Skills:

|Dragon Quasar (S+++)| - |Single shot|

Fwwoooop—!!

The sound barrier shattered. The barrier that signified light speed shattered right after. Then, with a straight line of destruction razing havoc through the land, the Skill finally hit its target.

"!!!"

The Heartless Ice King attempted to react to this sudden beam attack shot from thousands of miles away, yet it was already too late. By the time it fluttered open one of its massive eyes, half its head had been shaved clean off. Another Dragon Quasar beam cut through the air, and the other half of the head vanished as well.

In the background, two giant colorful explosions raised into the air in the form of mushroom clouds. However, as if none of the following chaos had anything to do with him, Cassius teleported across the skies and appeared in front of the Heartless Ice King's corpse. He indifferently floated down and started draining the Boss Monster's blood, also making sure to allot a certain amount of it to the ever-voracious Lilith.

Several System notifications rang out while this was occurring:

{[Heartless Ice King's Domain (Low Purple-rank)]} - [Semi-CLEARED]

[Would you like to leave the Gate now and allow it to restore all fallen monsters, or would you prefer to continue killing every single last one of the monsters in an attempt to permanently clear the Gate?] - [O1/O2]

Cassius chose option 1.

This wasn't even his first time clearing this Gate under Russia's nose, and it certainly wouldn't be the last time. Therefore, permanently closing a prime Gate like this one was a no-go, even if it gave meager amounts of EXP after he exceeded Lvl 95. Then again, every Gate, no matter its rank, now gave barely anything, and this one was definitely one of the better ones.

"Clearing any Gate below the Purple rank is fine, as I've already permanently cleared thousands of them around the world, but as the Purple-rank Gates are still few in number, it's more profitable to keep them around," Cassius mused as he felt himself get torn apart and zorped away by force. "If only just until Purple-rank Gates no longer give me anything of value, I'll need them to stick around."

There were only a handful of Purple-rank Gates scattered across the globe, numbering no more than 40. And as every one of them had a certain refresh rate, Cassius was forced to clear them in rotation. Now, if he suddenly decided to start permanently closing the only Gates that gave him any decent amount of EXP, then his road to Lvl 100 would be barred off unless he ventured back into HELL. And that just wasn't an acceptable outcome.

'And besides, all of the Purple-rank Gates are at or below the Middle of the rank, which is just perfect for most of the world powers to safely farm. This means that no one is being hurt or affected by these present Gates staying around,' thought Cassius. 'Unless a freak accident occurs, even the S-Rank Hunters, who have cleared these Gates many times already, are able to clear them without incident.'

'It is only the newly opened and unfamiliar Gates that pose a threat to Humanity, with the annual death toll being in the tens of millions…'
