Chapter 135: Memphis's Departure
Memphis left Hoshito the same day her rank was discovered. She bid farewell to Cassius and the other girls who had treated her like a sister, yet she didn't shed a tear. Sasha and even the tsundere Aya teared up, but she did not. It wasn't that she didn't care or had turned into an emotionless robot; it was just that she had a new goal in mind that she had to achieve no matter what.
All Gates in the world would permanently disappear, and she would be the one to make it happen. This was what she vowed to herself. Emotions would have to be put on the backburner.
After taking one long and hard look at Cassius, Memphis bit her lips and held back what she wanted to say. She couldn't even bring herself to look him in the eyes right now, let alone confess her feelings to him and tell him how she'd pay him back for everything he had done for her.
The truth was that they lived in two different worlds. At least, that was how Memphis saw it.
The last thing she wanted to do was get Cassius and her family mixed up in the dangerous life of a Hunter. To that end, she stayed her tongue and embarked on a path of her own, all while holding back her emotions. She bottled them up deep inside herself, hoping they would never again see the light of day. Not until all Gates in the world were gone.
Sasha was quite gloomy for the week following Memphis's departure. She had even prepared everything the young girl would have needed for the new school year, all of which no longer mattered. Even Aya and Stella, who got along quite well with Memphis, weren't as chipper as usual. There was also Grace, who had been informed of Cassius's unusual housing guest situation a while back. Although jealous that all these girls, including the mellow Memphis, had been living so intimately with the guy she liked, she eventually befriended everyone except for Yimin and Hellion, the former of whom simply didn't like anyone besides her Master. Period.
Hence, Grace, too, was saddened by Memphis's departure. She understood very well why her friend had to go, but it still wasn't a very pleasant thing to experience. She had to go on many dates with Mr. Loverboy to make up for the missing part of her heart. Aya and the others, of course, did everything in their power to prevent these outings from ever happening. However, the shy Grace was a lot more cunning than one might imagine.
Almost every single attempt of hers to get Cassius to go on a date with her ended up in great success. She also outplayed her rivals in love, distracting them or sneaking past them with ease. All in all, she was leading in the game that was getting closer to the man so handsome that he had to wear a hood wherever he went.
He was also so dense that light bent around him. This frustrating quality of his made it nearly impossible for him to cheat, but it also posed an unbelievable challenge for anyone who wished to leave the friend zone. All except for Hellion, who remained a third-party observer to it all, understood very well just how dense Cassius's density wall of unimaginable density actually was.
Hell, Yimin practically threw herself at him at every opportunity she got, yet every attempt got her no closer to sneaking into his pants. All she wanted to do was play with the dragon! Perhaps have a battle of the dragons underneath the covers! Was that so bad??
Yet, even with one of the competitors journeying out into the vast world in pursuit of revenge, neither Yimin nor the other girls felt Loverboy becoming any more attracted to them. He was like a gawdamn Buddha, for f***'s sake! It was infuriating!
Even Sasha, who became more and more pent up with time, gave out occasional, unintentional hints. They were all for naught, of course. This led to even more unrest in her unsatisfied nightlife.
She knew it had been around two months since she did the deed, but that was normally nowhere near enough to have her acting up like this. If she was being honest, it wasn't until she married Adam Steele that she felt perpetually unsatisfied. She recalled doing it with him numerous times, yet it all felt wrong somehow—like none of it even happened. Now, either his willy was too small and his technique too mediocre to satisfy, or something was… amiss.
Sasha's conundrum was problematic and troublesome, to say the least…

When Cassius returned home and entered through the front door, he was surprised to find Sasha cooking up a bomb of a meal for breakfast. He also noticed the clothing she was wearing. It was rather…
Risque… Alluring? Definitely.
Sasha had on only her faintly see-through nightgown and a loosely tied apron. The apron did very little to hide the two mountainous lumps of jiggling gelatin in the back, with the nightgown also helping none in that regard.
Sasha's attire did an unparalleled job of accentuating her slim waist, ample breasts, and child-bearing hips. If a Milf-hunting contest was held in Hoshito to determine who was the hottest Milf, everyone would be searching for her.
Today, Sasha was the only one to have her long, silky blond hair tied into an enchanting ponytail. The others, currently sitting around the dining room table, all let their luscious hair hang loose and shimmer like the most mesmerizing of waterfalls.
"!!!"
Yimin, upon inhaling a whiff of her Master's intoxicating scent, immediately stood up and jumped in his direction.
"Master, you should've told Yimin right away that you were coming back!! Yimin wanted to come with you, but Master said no. Yimin doesn't understand why Master said this! Please don't leave Yimin alone again! Waahh!"
Cassius contemplated the thought of pushing her away, but she seemed genuinely upset, so he let her be. Noticing something while looking down at her, he thought, 'It appears that the Green-ranked Dragon Pellets I acquired from that one Gate did the trick. Her overall combat power has already exceeded the S+ Rank. It surely won't be long before she reaches the very pinnacle of the S-Rank.'
