Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 164: Vladimir Dracula!

A few dozen meters away, on the 4th Floor of the Main School Building, dozens of students, both female and male, were staring out the windows with shining eyes. All of them were either geniuses, came from influential families, or were high-level Awakeners, so most of their schedules were jam-packed. It was only during moments like these that they received some respite from their normally hectic lives.

Flora took an uninterested glance in the direction of the bubble fighting ring, suddenly feeling that there was no harm in watching how the fight played out to cure some of her boredom. The winner of the match was already clear as day in her eyes, but maybe something surprising would occur. That would be nice…

Stella, who was also watching from the distant classroom, thought the exact opposite of the placid Flora. In fact, the victor was set in stone so hard that the center of the earth might just open up due to how guaranteed the victory would be.

She was, however, looking forward to seeing how that dummy would deal with the aftermath of these bouts, though.

Now that would make her happy.

Cassius briefly looked at Stella, knowing very well what was running through her mind. He helplessly shook his head and refocused on this so-called 'Duel.'

"Do we really have to do this?" he asked.

Arthur's smug smirk widened to nearly both of his ears as he replied, "Why? Scared?"

A few of the students watching from up above laughed, causing Cassius's frown to deepen. The more he stayed around these folks, the better he understood that status and talent did not make the person. People could still be childish, and they could still act like background characters, their names not even worth mentioning.

With one final sigh, Cassius nodded and said, "Very well. You can make the first move."

"Me… Make the first move…?"

"Bahahaha!"

He, along with everyone else, erupted in laughter as they couldn't believe the laid-back arrogance of this unknown boy. Even the girls who were quite taken by his looks found what he said to be incredibly funny.

Only Flora, Stella, and the sleeping Violet made no sound. They simply kept their thoughts to themselves and quietly watched how things were bound to unfold.

Arthur, finding it hard to stop his chest from hurting because of his intense laughter, wiped tears from the corners of his eyes. Struggling to maintain a straight face, he asked, "Do you really mean what you said, you fool??"

"Yes," Cassius calmly replied, his humor non-existent. "Now, if you could, why don't you make a move?"

Arthur's expression froze. He was no longer laughing. His smile quickly faded, instead turning into a frown that marred his moderately handsome facial features. With his face twisting in anger, veins spread out all over his head.

"...You really want me to make the first move…?" he repeated in a seething tone.

Cassius apathetically looked him up and down, then answered, "Yes."

He did not get into any proper stance. He just stood there. From Arthur's perspective, however, his uncaringness was seen as a form of disrespect.

His anger reached an all-time high as a yellowish aura exploded out from him, with the rolling waves of energy affecting the wills of even spectating D-Rank Awakeners.

"Hmm…?"

Somewhere else within the Private School, an elderly man's eyes widened as he sensed Arthur's aura. After checking out the situation with his Magic Sense, he saw who Arthur was unleashing his aura on. And when he confirmed it to be the aura-less boy who flaunted his wealth around to get someone in, he was about to get up and stop the boy from embarrassing himself.

However, at the same moment he went to make his move, a venomous feminine voice entered his mind through a special Vampire Voice Transmission Skill. The old man was startled at first, but after a couple of moments of listening to the voice, his pupils dilated and turned a dark shade of red.

"As you command, my Lady!" he shouted in reverence before hitting the ground in a fervent kneeling pose. "I'll not interfere in anything that student Cassius does!"

A cold, feminine snort resounded. After which, a shadowy figure hiding in the folds of the room vanished.

The Principal of the Academy picked himself up off the floor a second later, with the color of his eyes returning to normal. He looked around in confusion, completely forgetting how he got out of his seat and what he had originally planned to do. But when he felt the C-Rank aura of one of his students, he instinctively decided not to do anything.

'Don't worry, Hubby~!' Bella raved inside her mind, pulsating hearts swimming within her mesmerizing eyes. 'Your wifey will make sure everything goes the way you want it!'

*Flap, Flap, Flap!*

A creepily giggling bat flapped her wings and disappeared from the skies above the School.

Bella had originally wanted to stay extremely close to her husband until the moment their contractual marriage was set in stone, but when he gave her that euphoric head pat, she both creamed and had some sense knocked back into her. What that knock in the brain department told her was that she had to make sure her father was prepared for anything that might occur in the futile strugglings that were soon to happen.

Where she was flying to right now was her home in the Human Realm. Inside that spooky house stood an eerie purple portal that served as an exclusive gateway for vampires to enter the Human Realm. On the other side of that portal, however…

WHOOOOSH—!

A Great World forever enshrouded by a blanket of darkness. Ancient Castles overlooked the common blood-sucker populace, powerful vampire nobles flew overhead, traversing above Middle Eastern-style buildings that numbered in the millions. Terrifying shadowy flying creatures and reptilian land giants occupied plots of land both far and wide, with imposing vampires mounting these mountainous entities.

But at the very center—at the Highest Floor—at the summit of this world of darkness stretching outward thousands of times more than that of Earth, there existed something that even Vampire Dukes feared.

This 'something' was so horrifying that all within the Realm of Darkness felt the breath leave their lungs when his name was brought up in conversation. His existence was akin to the terror within one's nightmares, the savior of all Vampire-kind, and yet also the One who Knocks.

His name?

Vladimir Dracula… The Absolute King of Nightingale…!!!
