Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 249: Igor Volkov's Domineering Stand

Igor Volkov's darkened expression shifted slightly toward the rattling trees. As he saw more and more of the trees bend and press to either side with something seemingly rushing through, his killing intent flared. The spectators standing on the surrounding mountains—even the six S-Rank Japanese Hunters—felt their knees buckle beneath them.

Under the weight of the Wolf Deity's hatred, they felt themselves to be no different than inconsequential ants… meager bugs to be squashed…

'He's so powerful… even stronger than Cass,' Viola Voidweaver thought to herself with a dire expression. 'Will this elusive Silver Bullet Demon be able to contend with someone like him…?'

Her eyes, like everyone else's, were glued to the trees being toppled in a straight line through the valley. They wished to know just what sort of freakish, humanoid monster had the guts to kill a World-class Hunter and reduce Russia to ruins.

Yimin, over this past period of time, had acquired quite a reputation for herself. Even prior to her 'rescue mission' in Russia, she was still somewhat of an urban legend around the world. But, particularly in Asia, she was regarded as a Land Deity of sorts, as she would often be seen flashing around fields of green with the wildlife. To them, this act of close interaction with nature was akin to embracing her divinity.

Thus, a ton of villagers and commoners from multiple Asian regions had gathered for this duel to witness their Land Deity in person. Their pious belief in her was great enough to make them drop to their knees and start bowing as soon as the string of toppling trees approached.

All were anticipating the almighty World-class Hunter Slayer! Every single one of them was prepared to witness the appearance of a mind-bogglingly terrifying existence—

"Stop running, white and black floofer!! I don't want to eat you!! Probably…"

From the falling trees emerged a panda bear fleeing for its life. Right on its tail was a silverish-haired draconic woman, who, even under the shocked eyes of thousands, kept chasing the panda while on all fours.

"...." "...." "...."

Silence.

Not only the Wolf Deity but every single person in the valley felt their expressions go blank. Their minds followed suit. Truly… truly, they had no idea what was going on right now.

"Is… is that supposed to be the Silver Bullet Devil…?"

That question existed in the minds of many as they looked down at the silver-haired woman running around in circles. Staying just a few feet away from her was the scared sh*tless panda. It was trying its best to escape the crazy draconic woman, but nothing it did allowed it to get away!

It was helpless! A helpless panda in need!

Igor Volkov—who was watching from the center of the valley clearing—felt a vein bulge on his darkened forehead. His eyebrows furrowed deeply as anger seeped out of his deadly aura.

No longer able to take this farce anymore, the Wolf Deity shouted, "ENOUGH!"

His booming voice traveled throughout the valley, eventually reaching the ears of Yimin and the panda. The panda—already terrified because of the crazy lady—became even more scared. Under the stress of it all, its eyes rolled into the back of its head, and it fainted.

Yimin stopped in her tracks. She curiously inspected the panda. But when she realized it was knocked out cold, her anger surged. Slowly, she cocked her head back and sent a soul-piercing glare toward the Wolf Deity and everyone on the mountains behind him.

"!!!" "!!!" "!!!"

The spectators felt their souls shiver. A cold chill crawled down their spines, causing their hairs to stand on end. A number of the spectators even unceremoniously fell on their bottoms, with a select few going unconscious as well.

That was when they heard it—a chilling feminine voice that vastly contrasted with how bubbly it was before. "You dare… you dare take away Yimin's black and white floofer…? Death is what you seek?"

Her oppressive aura bore down on the solemn figure standing in the center of the valley. Igor's entire existence trembled beneath the pressure, yet he stood strong, unmoving. Even as his feet dug into the ground against his will, his expression maintained its stoicism.

"You were the one who destroyed Russia?" Igor asked, his tone bone-chilling enough to further terrify the already terrified spectators.

Yimin didn't respond. She did, however, begin to take one heavy step after another in the Wolf Deity's direction. Cracks spread out along her advance, with each further step producing larger and larger spiderwebbed fissures.

Igor's brows tightly knitted together as he gripped his giant wolf-fur-decorated greatsword. He took it from his back and sliced the air in front of him as a show of arms. Just that casual move produced rolling waves of wind that crisscrossed outward, enveloping the entirety of the grassy valley. Everyone had their clothes blown about, with many in awe of the level of might the #2 Hunter possessed.

"Come, make the first move," said the Wolf Deity, his stance holding as firm as a boulder. "Do not say I did not give you a chance to defend yourself."

Yimin's eyes narrowed into slits as her pupils thinned to those akin to a dragon's. Then, with a ferocity that boundlessly emitted with her every move, she bent low to the ground. Once on all fours, she bent even lower, her bouncing breasts hovering less than an inch off the ground. Her voluptuous butt rose high as her long silvery tail increased in length. It whipped around without restraint, subsequently sending out blasts of wind that knocked over trees and traveled up the sides of mountains to the spectators. Thousands lost their balance and fell, adding to the large number of people who couldn't even stand properly when faced with the confrontation of two monsters.

Although Viola and the other Japanese S-Rank Hunters did not have the problem of standing upright, they knew for certain that this somewhat goofy draconic humanoid was the real deal. She was strong. Extremely strong.

Yet, it was rather difficult to tell if the urban myth was stronger than the World-class Hunter hailed as the world's second strongest. Only through battle would they be able to tell for certain who was more powerful.
