Sneaking around a 10th Layer Qi Condensation Realm Moon Serpent's head, Necro coldly smiled. He raised his right hand, crooking his index finger.

A bright blue energy gathered at the tip of his fingertip.

The Moon Serpent Necro was targeting reacted just before a massive linear column of light engulfed its vision. However, its prematurely erected defenses were instantly incinerated.

While being burnt to a crisp, the Moon Serpent bellowed its frustrations.

How could it be defeated by its own signature technique!?

"You think you're the only ones who can do that?" Necro scoffed, a quadruple-sided illusory tail materializing behind him. "Let us compare."

Urgency flashed across the faces of the Moon Serpents. The Evolved Moon Cleaver's luminosity increased in size in their dilated eyes. Fear strangled them, forcing them to retreat without hesitation.

"Running is not in the cards for you worms." Necro's forehead radiated a dark blue light, followed by the appearance of a vertically placed crescent in the center of his forehead. "Perish."

The four Moon Serpents didn't stand a chance.

They were slashed in half, greenish-blue blood staining the skies.

Necro's forehead gradually returned to normal. He appraised the damage, nodding contently at the destructive potential of the Moon Serpent Bloodline.

"Hey, you dummy!" Su Yu called out, landing Lolipop less than a few feet away from Necro. "Why didn't you tell me you were so strong!?"

"...I didn't hide my strength on purpose," replied Necro. "I've simply become more and more powerful."

Su Yu rolled her eyes. "Who are you kidding, Necro?? There's no possible way for someone to get so powerful in such a short period of time without taking any special pills or medicines!"

Necro's pleased expression returned to its usual blankness. "Believe it or not. Either way, I have to go give these Monster Cores to Shao Yao."

"You…" Su Yu's cheeks puffed as she watched the strangely more venomous-looking young boy dash away in the direction of River Mountain City.

In the end, she couldn't remain angry any longer. "W-Wait for me…!" she shouted as she chased after him alongside the helpless Lolipop.

"This… you actually managed to hunt a Three-tailed Moon Serpent…?" Shao Yao was staring in disbelief at a Core passively emitting the residual energies of a 10th Layer Qi Condensation Realm Monster.

"No," replied Necro, shaking the older woman's heart when he took six more Cores out of his Storage Ring. "There were these worms as well."

"'Worms'...?" Shao Yao could hardly believe what she was hearing. Those were Peak Qi Condensation Realm Monsters, you know??

"You… Just what sort of monster are you?" she asked with bated breath.

"I'm the monster that wants my pay," Necro answered with utmost seriousness. "Also, you'll purchase the other six Monster Cores as well, won't you?"

Shao Yao paused briefly.

She nodded.

"I'll give you the base pay of 100 Low-grade Spirit Stones, as well as 400 for the six other Rank 3 Monster Cores," she said. "On top of that, I'll give you a bonus of 150 Low-grade Spirit Stones, for I believe that making friends with someone as capable and talented as you will greatly benefit my Family."

Necro was handed a Storage Ring containing 650 Low-grade Spirit Stones.

"Also, little love, I forgot to ask earlier, but what is it that you need all this money for?" Shao Yao asked.

"Money?" Necro parroted. "That's not what I'm doing with the Spirit Stones."

"Huh??"

Shao Yao's eyes grew round as she watched the handsome young boy take out a handful of Low-grade Spirit Stones before proceeding to… swallow them…!?

"Shtupid, what are you doing!?" Su Yu was the first to reach for Necro's mouth, attempting to shovel out the Spirit Stones in time.

Necro stopped her in her tracks before she could touch him.

"What are you doing!? Are you really trying to kill yourself!??"

Under the astonished eyes of both girls, Necro blinked vacantly before… gulping down the Low-grade Spirit Stones…

Shadows covered the girls' faces. They looked quite scary at the moment.

Then, with a sudden start, each of them felt their souls leave their bodies.

"Hello?" Necro waved at them, but received no response. They were like empty shells.

He muttered, "I suppose creating a Cultivation Technique is pretty uncommon…"

"Just 'pretty uncommon'!?" Su Yu and Shao Yao abruptly came to life, spawning in with a rebuke. "The number of scholars that have created a cultivation technique across the entire history of the Blue Ring Region can be counted on one's fingers!
