Chapter 645: Golden bow
The beast began to tremble violently, raising alarms among the group. They feared that it might unleash a destructive self-destruct skill, which was not an uncommon thing to do among the dragons when they were defeated.
However, the creature's fit of trembling soon evolved into a gruesome spectacle. The Kraken Dragon's massive frame abruptly ceased moving and appeared to be paralyzed. Blood began to trickle from its nostrils and seep from its eyes, creating a disturbing and macabre scene.
It became evident that Artisia's questions or the knowledge it possessed were somehow too much for the beast to reveal, causing it to suffer catastrophic consequences. The unfortunate creature had succumbed to the mental and physical strain… probably because it had been put under a spell to keep that hidden.

Another ultimate skill… one that would be very useful for Rain in tough and long battles. Still, the mood was too dark for Rain to celebrate that… everyone wanted to hear his opinion on what had just happened.
"My guess is that a dragon used authority magic on this guy and prevented it from leaking important details… all the dragons should be under that influence," Rain said.
"... Wouldn't only the dragon god be capable of doing this?" Seara asked, visibly shocked.
"I would say so…" Rain said while rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "You should return to the capital. You and Cor should lead the others and protect the royal family if something happens."
"Yes, master," Artisia said.
Rain rubbed his eyes and then sighed… still, he soon decided to focus on the next steps. He had called for Lotto as well, and he should arrive soon, and it would be better if he prepared the materials as soon as possible. Rain also wanted to cook the monster to make the Cook's path gain some levels… making it reach the max level should be possible as well by cooking five or so dragons.
"I have the feeling that the next path to evolve will be the cook's path," Rain furrowed his eyebrows.
In any case, Terra and Seara helped Rain with that since he soon had to use the spell to track down more dragons invading their lands… nothing happened regarding that, but the dungeons increased their progress by five percent.
"Shit… one single dragon dead is the same as five thousand monsters?" Rain thought.
Rain had to stay focused on his family… but it was getting hard to keep his cool when he was receiving those kinds of information so often. He always found it weird that this world didn't have so many monsters… but once he realized how big it was, he couldn't say if that was truly the case and dragons were monsters as well… but on a class of their own.
"... I really need to learn how to stop the dungeons," Rain thought. "Maybe I will just dig around and make all the land float to the ocean and throw it there… I should be able to pull that off with a few hundred potions."
The fact that Rain wasn't joking and he was truly considering that spoke volumes of the situation… while he was thinking about that, he realized that his behavior was affecting his family as well. Seara and Terra have been serious for a while as well, and the kids were too quiet.
"What the hell am I doing making them worry like this?" Rain thought and then rubbed his whole face several times over. "I have to improve this situation… I just hope that I can do something valuable in the base of the Kraken dragon."
Rain left his home in a hurry to check the hidden base of the Kraken dragon and wasted no time as he descended into the depths of the sea, following the enormous tunnel that could accommodate a dragon with ease. The mana traces left behind were like a luminous trail, guiding him through the dark underwater passage. It was all had been hard to miss.
Swimming deeper into the tunnel, Rain could feel the pressure of the water intensify as he approached the heart of the underwater labyrinth… it was like five kilometers deep, but eventually, Rain found a cave that also had air in it. It was quite humid and slippery. Rain could find mugus everywhere… but he also found a pile of treasure.
Some of it was covered in coral, and some of it seemed pretty old… too old, in fact.
"A lot of gold and gems… did that thing got this from ships that it made sunk?" Rain wondered. "I don't think that many ships had been here in the last one hundred years. Maybe the kraken dragon found them on the bottom of the ocean in the last few decades."
The southern ocean waters have been pretty much abandoned over the years… most likely because of the kraken dragons as well. Rain wondered if he could find some sort of knowledge in sunken ships that could help him… at that point in time, he would accept help from anywhere. Regardless, Rain only found a single relic in the pile of treasure… a golden bow.
