Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss

Chapter 431: Decision making

After they hear what happened,The reason why Seojun is angry, the room became silent. Alex sighed and shook his head before pulling up a glowing hologram screen in front of him. With a flick of his fingers, he sent something to Seojun.

A soft ding rang in the air as Seojun's system window appeared in front of him. A message floated clearly in his vision,

Seojun tapped the window, and the form opened.

Alex leaned back in his seat and crossed his arms. "You do know what it means to create a guild, right?" he said in a serious tone. "Once it's registered, you can't easily decline any official quest. The global system will assign quests to your guild. Some you can choose, but others are forced."

Seojun's hand paused mid-air, just about to swipe the system form again.

"And if you list your beasts as members," Alex continued, "they'll be pulled into those quests with you. That means no one will be left to guard your family while you're gone."

Seojun slowly lowered his hand and stared at the form again, not saying a word.

Alexa looked at him gently and walked closer patting seojun shoulder. "Don't rush this decision, Seojun. I know you're angry… we all are. But this isn't something you make when your emotions are high."

She gave a small smile and tilted her head. "You can send us back the form tomorrow. For now, rest. Calm your mind. A leader needs to think with a clear head."

Seojun closed the system window without answering and disappeared from the dean's office, Alexa sighed deeply, crossing her arms.

"This is my first time seeing Seojun angry…" she muttered, her brows furrowed. "But he's holding it back. He's trying so hard not to explode."

She turned to the dean and gave a small bow. "Dean… we're heading out. We'll report back once we return to the Association."

"Take care," the dean said simply, watching them vanish in a flash of light.

Back in Seojun's room, the quiet atmosphere was calm—until he reappeared. He paused as he saw Seoyang sitting on his bed, waiting quietly.

"Mom…" Seojun called softly.

Seoyang looked up and smiled gently. She patted the space beside her. "Come here."

Seojun walked over and sat down. As soon as he did, Seoyang guided his head onto her shoulder and gently leaned her head against his.

"I know you're angry, Seojun," she whispered. "I can feel it."

Seojun stayed silent. He didn't want to answer. He didn't want to admit how close he was to becoming the person he was in the Abyss—cold, merciless, angry.

Seoyang kept her voice low and soft. "How did you deal with your anger in the Abyss?"

Seojun's voice came out quiet. "Please don't make me talk about that, Mom."

Seoyang gave a short smile. "Was it that bad…? Did you have to kill?"

Seojun didn't answer. She gently rubbed his arm and whispered, "I'm so proud of you, Seojun. You've managed to control your anger here, even when it's hard."

A silence followed. Just the soft breathing of mother and son.

Then Seoyang spoke again. "You were trying to make us live peacefully… I know that. But Seojun, this world isn't the same anymore. Living peacefully is impossible now."

Seojun slowly sat up straight, his eyes serious. "Don't say that, Mom. As long as I'm here… I'll make peaceful living possible. I don't care how the world changed."

Seoyang cupped his cheeks with her hands, her eyes full of emotion. "Thank you, Seojun. But really… it's impossible."

"Mom…" Seojun said firmly.

But Seoyang didn't let him speak more. She held his face gently and said, "No—listen to me. You've already carried so much. You're not a god. You can't carry everything alone."

Seoyang gently ran her fingers through Seojun's hair, her voice calm and full of warmth. "I know you're trying to hold yourself back… because you don't want to do something dangerous. I'm angry too, Seojun. What happened to Nathan and Elshienne—it hurts me as much as it hurts you."

She paused for a moment, looking into her son's tired eyes. ""But sometimes… things like this can't be avoided. Let's not chase them, okay? Just… let it go—for now."." Seoyang is angry but at the same time is scared of what seojun can do.

Seojun didn't answer, but his fingers curled tightly over the blanket. His heart was full of emotions he couldn't express. Seoyang stood up slowly, brushing off her clothes. She turned to him with a soft smile.

"It's okay, Seojun. Holding back too much won't do you any good either."

She let out a short sigh and placed a hand on her forehead as if realizing something. "What am I doing… telling you to hold back when I know you're already trying your best?"

She looked at him again, eyes gentle. "Do what you need to do, Seojun. Calm yourself down in your own way. After that, you can decide what's next."

Then, she leaned forward and gently kissed his forehead.

Without another word, Seoyang walked to the door. She paused, her hand resting on the handle. She leaned against the doorframe and thought, 'I don't know who my son became in the Abyss… but I have to accept him. No matter what.'

Then she opened the door and stepped out, closing it behind her with a quiet click.

Minutes passed in silence.

Seojun lay on his bed, eyes open, just staring at the ceiling. His jaw tightened.

His hands slowly curled into fists.

Then, without saying a word, Seojun sat up. In the next second, his body vanished into thin air.
