Chapter 127: Memories 2
"No matter how you put it, I still refuse… Go back to your master and tell him I refuse!" Zohar said coldly, his voice echoing with unyielding resolve.
"Zohar! At least think about your family! You don't have the backing of the Great Dragon Empire! Your father won't help you!! If you go against us, do you think you can leave here alive?" she retorted, her voice as cold as ice.
"Blood Queen Matilda… You should know who you are talking to, right?" he asked, a menacing calm in his voice as his eyes turned a shocking pure white.
'Queen Matilda? This woman looks nothing like her. Is it a coincidence that they both have the same name?' Ellen thought, utterly confused.
Matilda frowned, feeling the immense surge of energy building around Zohar. She sighed in what seemed like helpless resignation. "Okay, Zohar… I will report back to my master."
She turned and walked away. Vinous stared at them for a second, then turned and followed his Queen.
Zohar and his wife watched the warship ascend into the air and fly out of the planet's atmosphere. "Go back to the girls. I will be back," he said. Then, before Ellen's unbelievable eyes, four magnificent wings shot out from his back, and he rocketed into the air, flying away at an unimaginable speed.
"Where is he going?" Ellen asked, bewildered.
"I… I don't know, let's follow him." Vinous spread his own wings and shot forward, pulling Ellen with him.
'Truly a Great Dragon. Even with my God-rank speed, I can't keep up.' Vinous thought, straining to keep the flying figure ahead of him in sight as he held Ellen tightly in his grasp.
_______
After flying for hours, they finally reached a barren, desolate land.
"Isn't this the forbidden land?" Ellen muttered in surprise. She looked up at the sky, which was a clear, perfect blue. "Well, there isn't a single storm cloud in the sky," she added.
Vinous remained silent as Zohar landed on the ground and entered a dark cave. Vinous gently placed Ellen on the ground, then landed himself. The two observed the dark entrance and slowly stepped inside.
"Ah!" Ellen cried out.
"What happened?" Vinous turned to her, his expression confused.
"I'm okay," Ellen replied, holding her head. 'Was… Was that Father?' she thought, perfectly hiding her surprise.
"Come on."
The two continued to walk, following Zohar deeper into the cave until they entered a huge chamber. The sight that greeted them was...
"Oh my claws," Vinous was stunned.
"There… There is another tree?!!" Ellen was dumbfounded.
Zohar walked to the giant tree, ascended into the air, and plucked two small fruits. He then looked at the tree, which was now completely fruitless.
Vinous and Ellen stood there, not knowing what he was thinking. After a few seconds, Zohar turned around and flew past them, heading for the entrance.
'Two trees… Two Yggdrasil trees… How is this possible?!' Vinous thought, staring at the tree in shock.
"No… Something isn't right. If there are two Yggdrasil trees, why can't I see the second?"
He turned and walked out of the cave, with Ellen following behind him. She made sure to take note of every single detail of the terrain and landscape as they flew back to the house.
'There is only one tree. Maybe that Yggdrasil was brought outside? But who is strong enough to move such a powerful tree?' Vinous stared at Zohar flying ahead of them.
'How many secrets are on this planet?'
____
The group reached the house, and Zohar quickly landed on the ground and rushed inside with both fruits.
"What is he doing?" Ellen asked in confusion.
The two stood at the door, watching as Zohar handed one fruit to his first daughter. He then picked up a blender, and quickly blended the other fruit. He poured the blended juice into a baby bottle and gave it to his wife.
"What… What is this?" she asked, her voice laced with confusion.
"Give it to her," he said hurriedly and snapped his fingers, and a black cloak appeared in his hand.
"Dear," he said, turning to his eldest daughter and placing the cloak on her. "I am sorry for all this, but eat up."
The girl nodded and began eating the fruit. With a confused expression, the woman fed Jasmine the blended juice.
"Come with me now. Bring her along."
He took his daughter's hand and walked out of the house, with the woman following behind him, carrying Jasmine in her arms.
Ellen and Vinous watched as Zohar snapped his fingers again, and an unknown ship with two pods appeared before them.
"What are you doing, love?" the woman asked, tears already streaming down her cheeks. She knew what her husband was planning, but she couldn't bring herself to believe it.
Zohar released his daughter's hand and walked up to his wife.
"I am sorry, love, but she already discovered us… That witch won't go back, she will attack. We need to get the girls out… They must go somewhere safe." He caressed her cheek.
"This might be the last time we see them both, so please… Say your goodbyes," he added, his voice choking with emotion.
"We don't have time."
She nodded and removed a necklace from her neck, placing it around Jasmine's neck.
"My child, once you unlock your bloodline, you will be able to use this… Please forgive us," she said as tears ran down her cheeks.
Ellen watched with a stunned gaze as the necklace disappeared on the baby's neck.
".....?!"
She subconsciously raised her hand to her own neck, but felt nothing.
The lady walked towards the pod and gently placed Jasmine inside.
"Remember, child, never unlock your bloodline unless you are ready for a bloody war. We don't want that for you two; that's why we are sealing your powers." She said, caressing Jasmine's hair. She then turned to her first daughter.
"Remember, dear, never take off that cloak… Once you feel you are ready, you can finally destroy it and unlock your bloodline. Let the fruit do the rest." She wiped her tears.
"The only way you can achieve that is by dying… Sorry. You can blame both of you," she said, and walked towards her, hugging her tightly.
"Remember this, Mirabella… No matter what happens, you must protect your little sister. Never let her out of your sight."
Mirabella nodded, tears running down her cheeks as she hugged her mother tightly. "I will."
BOOOOOOOM!!!!
The three, including Ellen, looked into the distance in horror. More than twenty red warships entered the planet's atmosphere, and over a hundred battleships followed behind them.
"We need to go now!!"
Zohar quickly picked up Mirabella and placed her in her pod. He activated the ship with his cosmic brain.
"Don't worry. As long as you are in this ship, you won't age one bit… You will remain my cute girls," he said as the ship rose into the air and shot away.
"STOP THAT SHIP!!!!!"
The group heard Matilda's roar, and all the battleships shot towards the fleeing vessel.
"Leave my girls alone!!!"
Zohar's wings erupted, and he shot into the air with such force that both Ellen and Vinous were pushed back by the sheer power.
Ellen watched in awe as Zohar destroyed countless battleships with just his bare hands. She then turned to her mother, who summoned her grand-class armor and flew into the air, joining the fight.
WHOOSH!!
Everyone watched as the space before the ship carrying the girls opened, a portal for a space jump. But before it could disappear, a blast from Matilda struck the engine. The ship vanished from the planet, leaving a trail of smoke and destruction behind.
"....?!"
Ellen was speechless.
