Chapter 217: Chapter 217: The Insidious King of Fighters Squad

"Name?"

"Wang Ming."

"Reason for entering the city?"

"To join family members who live here."

"What was your previous occupation?"

"Factory worker."

Lining up to the gate, Qin Ming calmly answered the questions with a smile as the rebel soldier inspected his identification.

After confirming the documents were authentic, the rebel soldiers stepped aside to let Qin Ming pass.

Retrieving his ID, Qin Ming nodded to the soldiers and prepared to step into the city.

But just as he crossed the gate, a sharp alarm suddenly sounded nearby.

Hearing the noise, Qin Ming froze, and the surrounding rebel soldiers reacted instantly, raising their weapons and aiming at him.

"Don't move! Hands up!"

Stunned, Qin Ming obediently raised his hands and looked around in confusion.

This didn't make sense. He wasn't carrying any weapons, and he had already removed all his equipment beforehand. There wasn't a single piece of metal on him. So why was the alarm going off?

What exactly was causing this sound... Wait a second?!

His eyes narrowed as his gaze locked onto a glowing device on the wall. In the next moment, his face darkened.

The alarm wasn't coming from a metal detector. It was a special item from the Nightmare Space—a Scanner Device!

Those bastards from the King of Fighters Squad had actually installed this thing at the gate to detect adventurers!

As for why they were screening adventurers so diligently? That didn't require much thought—this was a slaughter-mode world! Killing adventurers meant gaining loot!

Sure enough, before Qin Ming could react further, several military vehicles roared in from the distance. Leading them were none other than adventurers.

Before the vehicles even arrived, one of the adventurers had already mounted a heavy machine gun on a vehicle and opened fire at Qin Ming standing by the gate.

They had no intention of capturing anyone alive. Their goal was clear from the start: kill.

"Go to hell!"

As the bullets tore into him, Qin Ming's eyes flashed with fire. The next moment, his raised arms suddenly swung forward with full force.

Supersonic Hand Blade!

With a whoosh, a spinning white energy blade sliced through the hail of bullets, slamming directly into the heavy machine gun and cutting it cleanly in half.

The adventurer behind the gun let out a scream as his upper body was severed and sent flying.

Before the first Supersonic Hand Blade had even dissipated, five more followed in quick succession, striking the armored vehicle and showering it with sparks. A second later, the vehicle exploded into flames.

Having taken down one enemy in an instant, Qin Ming ignored the deafening gunfire all around him. Shielding his face with one arm, he charged into the city.

While sprinting, he quickly donned his equipment and pulled out a bronze gong, striking it hard.

With a resounding clang, the sound echoed through the city, followed by a loud neigh.

In the next second, a jet-black, muscle-bound warhorse burst through a wall and charged toward him at full speed.

Special Vehicle Summon: Silver-Tier Warhorse!

With all its attributes maxed out at 25, the powerful warhorse was as formidable as a small boss. It rampaged through the streets, trampling soldiers in its path and sending several flying into the air.

It collided with a military vehicle, flipping it onto its side before coming to a steady halt in front of Qin Ming.

Now fully equipped, Qin Ming adjusted the pirate hat on his head with one hand, swung himself onto the horse, and yanked the reins. The warhorse bolted forward at full gallop.

The sound of galloping hooves thundered as the warhorse shot forward like an arrow, its energy machine gun mounted on the left side roaring to life. Bullets sprayed in all directions, mowing down the enemies charging at Qin Ming.

Rebel soldiers screamed as they fell to the ground, and even two adventurers caught in the line of fire were heavily wounded.

At full speed, the warhorse carried Qin Ming out of the crowd, tearing through the chaos as it bolted forward.

But as the horse ran, the soldiers behind gave chase.

Several armored vehicles roared after him, their engines revving as they sped in pursuit. Adventurers and soldiers mounted on the vehicles opened fire with machine guns, spraying bullets relentlessly at Qin Ming.

Under the hail of bullets, Qin Ming took a few hits and finally snapped.

Grabbing the energy machine gun mounted beside him, he turned around and sat backward on the galloping warhorse. Facing the soldiers and vehicles in pursuit, he leveled the machine gun and fired back!

As it turned out, even without upgrades, the energy machine gun, a dim silver-tier weapon, boasted a level of firepower far beyond ordinary weapons and vehicles.

After all, this was a weapon originally mounted on the Metal Slug tank, a cutting-edge piece of top-tier black technology with absurd firepower.

With an ammo capacity of 3,000 rounds, an adjustable angle mount, and near-zero recoil, the energy machine gun was essentially a mobile turret.

Combined with the warhorse's full 25-point attributes and doubled sprinting speed, the weapon mounted on the horse was no less deadly than it had been on the tank.

As the machine gun roared, Qin Ming blasted apart four armored vehicles, two tanks, three pursuing fighter jets, and even a ten-man squad foolish enough to block his path.

Weaving through narrow alleyways and darting in and out of residential buildings, Qin Ming finally managed to shake off his pursuers. Letting out a sigh of relief, he released the machine gun and loosened his grip slightly.

But just as he began to relax, a thunderous explosion erupted nearby.

The next second, with a deafening crash, a massive object burst through the wall of a nearby building and charged directly at him.

It was a tank—a super-sized tank!

The behemoth stood ten meters tall, stretched 28 meters in length, and weighed nearly a thousand tons.

Equipped with heavy six-barreled Gatling guns on both sides and a dual-barreled energy cannon in the center, the monstrous tank had smashed through the residential buildings and was now barreling toward Qin Ming with unstoppable momentum.

This colossus was none other than the rebel forces' special experimental superweapon, the very reason they had been so desperate to capture the Zephyr's energy cannon.

Its name: Heavy Artillery Tank, Codename: Harvester!

Originally set to appear in Metal Slug 1 as the final boss of Mission 3, this experimental super tank had made an early debut, arriving directly in the frontline region.

Its firepower was beyond absurd, especially the dual-barreled energy cannon in the center, capable of blasting through entire hills with a single shot.

The only drawback was its flawed energy cannon design, which resulted in slow recharge times.

This design flaw was precisely why the rebels had been so eager to seize the Zephyr's energy cannon—they hoped to reverse-engineer its technology to eliminate the Harvester's shortcomings.

For now, the Harvester tank still suffered from its slow charging times.

But that didn't diminish its overwhelming destructive power. As it made its grand entrance, the dual-barreled energy cannon on top had already completed its charge.

Now, its glowing barrels locked onto Qin Ming, radiating a blinding light.

Energy cannon, fire!

BOOM!
