Chapter 108: 108 Once Done, Leave Nonchalantly (Asking for Subscriptions! Asking for Monthly Tickets!)
Royal Capital Yerufu, outskirts.
This was a grassland some distance away from the city walls of Yerufu.
The grassland stretched as far as the eye could see, seemingly enclosing the entire royal capital. Only eight major roads extended from the various city gates of Yerufu, slicing through the grassland and stretching outward.
These were the main roads leading to the royal capital, as well as the main roads leading out, connecting to the various territories of the Kingdom of Ginas. Each of these roads was meticulously maintained and repaired, appearing very clean and providing a liberating feeling.
Reiger, Yuri, and Marilyn, after leaving the Franzel family's manor, had stealthily made their way out of the royal capital and onto this grassland divided by the eight main roads.
Their location was quite remote, far from the main roads, making it difficult to encounter anyone.
But this allowed them not to worry about being found, and they simply stayed here, waiting for Ai En and Ian to arrive.
They ended up waiting for several hours.
After several hours, a carriage finally approached from the direction of the main road, crossing the grassland to where Reiger and the others were located.
"I apologize profusely, Miss."
"We are late."
Ai En and Ian, looking travel-worn, got off the carriage and bowed in apology to Yuri, who was leisurely enjoying the scenery.
"It's alright, I don't blame you," Yuri shook her head, considerately adding, "The tasks I assigned to you were indeed numerous. That you managed to complete them in just a few hours is no small feat."
As those deliberately left at the Franzel family's manor by Yuri, Ai En and Ian indeed had a hefty task.
They needed to assemble the knights, guards, and servants to extinguish the fire, deal with people sent by the royal family and various nobles, and finally settle the knights, guards, and a host of servants before they could find an opportunity to search for Yuri.
Given just a few hours to accomplish so much was indeed asking a lot of them.
Yuri was well aware of this, hence she did not specifically demand Ai En and Ian to hasten nor did she blame them for making her wait for several hours.
"How did it go? Is everything taken care of?"
Yuri casually inquired.
"Yes,"
responded Ai En, succinctly.
"Everything has been properly handled," Ian reported earnestly, "The fire at the manor has been extinguished, the guards and servants have been arranged in temporary accommodations, and we have already conveyed the news of the severe injury of the young miss to the people sent from the palace. After doing all this, we led the knight squadron out under the pretext of searching for the young miss and successfully left the royal capital."
By now, the knight squadron had been dispatched by Ai En and Ian in separate groups, instructed to set out from various directions, simultaneously carrying out the mission of "searching for the young miss" while heading to Franzel territory.
Thus, only Ai En and Ian came here, and the rest did not know Yuri was here or understand Yuri's plan, still believing that their young miss was seriously injured, some of whom were worried, and others anxious.
To deceive others, one must first deceive one's people.
Bearing this in mind, the only people who knew of Yuri's real plan and actual condition were the five present here.
"Very good."
Yuri nodded, satisfied.
It was then that Reiger, out of curiosity, inquired, "What's the situation in the royal capital now?"
Hearing this, Ai En and Ian looked towards Reiger simultaneously.
Their gazes at Reiger were different than before.
If Reiger's strength, surpassing that of a regular swordsman, had earned Ai En and Ian's recognition earlier, today Reiger had garnered a subtle respect from them.
After all, not only was Reiger an exceptional swordsman, but also a tactical-level magician.
Either of these identities alone was enough to garner many people's respect, let alone both.
At least, Ai En and Ian had never heard of anyone in the Kingdom of Ginas who had mastered both swordsmanship and magic to such a degree.
As a regular swordsman and a tactical-level magician, Reiger perhaps held a status in the kingdom second only to that of a Sword Saint and a strategic-level magician.
Before such a presence, even if Ai En and Ian were not in awe, it was still necessary to show some respect.
Thus, Ian, precise as ever, was the first to answer Reiger's question.
"The royal capital is in chaos now," Ian stated, "No one could have anticipated that the strategic-level magician staying in the royal capital would be seriously injured in an overly frivolous attack, nor that the young miss would choose to escape the royal capital. So now, whether it be the palace or the houses of the great nobles, all have been thrown into disarray, even those uninvolved are affected."
It must be said, Yuri's escape trick was beautifully executed.
As long as Yuri's condition was not confirmed to be safe, the capital estimated it would not be at peace for a day.
This was Yuri Franzel's reprisal.
It was not only a reprisal against the Basolo family, but also against those who stood by indifferently, detached, and chose to ignore Basolo's actions, allowing Franzel to possibly be attacked unfairly and then silenced.
Especially the royal family, Yuri had clearly harbored resentment for a long time, even if the incident of Reiger being previously involved in political struggles did not exist, the restrictions set upon her, making her so unfree, existed all the same.
Now that she had the chance to cause a stir, Yuri naturally did not mind doing so.
"Beautiful women are not to be trifed with."
Reiger could not help but secretly reflect on this in his heart.
"What's the situation with the Basolo family now?"
Unaware of what Reiger was thinking in his heart, Yuri also asked casually.
"All direct members of the Basolo family have already been taken into the royal palace by the kingdom's Knights, especially the eldest young master, because of his major suspicions, including the possibility of secretly dealing with a foreign Tactical Level Magician, the King has already prepared to personally interrogate him."
At this, Ian's tone could not help but carry a bit of schadenfreude.
Ai En too, his eyes revealed a bit of gratification.
Without a doubt, vengeful women were not only Yuri; these two men bore grudges just the same.
Of course, Reiger had no right to talk about others.
"It looks like everything is going smoothly." Yuri smiled ambiguously and said, "Since that's the case, we should also head back to the Franzel territory."
"Do we need to go back now?" Ian asked puzzledly, "With the occurrence of this incident, the Basolo family should no longer be able to plot a marriage arrangement with you, Miss, should they?"
"Who knows?" Yuri responded lightly: "If there's one Basolo family, there's a second Basolo family, and I don't want to suddenly find myself in another marriage arrangement without my knowledge."
Yuri definitely had to visit the Franzel territory this time.
"There are some things that I must make clear to my father, who decided my marriage without consulting me; he won't understand otherwise." Yuri said: "Moreover, I can't really completely disappear, otherwise the chaos won't be limited to just the capital."
If Yuri, a strategic level Magician, really disappeared for a long time, not to speak of the Kingdom of Ginahs, surrounding states would take action over this matter.
Whether the human nuclear bomb had disappeared or was wandering outside at will, it was a very important matter for any country.
If Yuri disappeared for too long, the impact would be very significant; this was not a trifling matter.
Yuri needed to appear in appropriate places at appropriate times, in order to assure many people's minds.
Returning to the Franzel territory was a good choice.
"Let's go."
Yuri took the lead and headed towards the carriage.
Marilyn, Ai En, and Ian immediately followed.
Reiger stayed at the back, watching Yuri's figure, unaware of what he was thinking.
A moment later, everyone got on the carriage.
Reiger, Yuri, and Marilyn entered the carriage compartment.
Ai En and Ian sat in the driver's seat.
Reiger glanced at the luxurious carriage, sat opposite Yuri and Marilyn, and asked, "Are we really going to Franzel territory by carriage?"
It was no wonder Reiger asked this.
Located to the north of the capital, Yalev, near the border, the Franzel territory was remote and a carriage ride there would indeed take about a month.
Such a long journey by carriage was quite resistant to Reiger.
Helplessly, in the carriage, he could neither practice swordsmanship nor fight; if he had to stay in the carriage for a month, it would indeed be torture.
Fortunately, things were not too bad.
"We will take a carriage for a day to Traventia," Yuri explained to Reiger, "There is a large canal there; we will take a boat and only need three days to reach Franzel territory."
Reiger exclaimed, surprised, "There's a large canal in the Kingdom of Ginahs?"
"Of course," Yuri smiled and said, "It was dug hundreds of years ago by a king who summoned numerous magicians and workers, craftsmen to join forces. The canal flows through various territories of the kingdom, and through there, anyone can quickly reach any noble-governed territory without having to endure a tedious and lengthy road journey by carriage."
Having said that, Yuri called out to the driver's seat.
"Let's depart!"
Hearing Yuri's voice, Ai En and Ian drove the carriage towards the other side of the grassland.
