"Marilyn."

Yuri called out to the maid by her side.

The maid did not make a sound, simply conjuring a teacup seemingly out of nowhere and placing it in front of Reiger, pouring him a steaming cup of black tea.

The tea's fragrance was quite pleasing, and even Reiger, who was usually indifferent to black tea, couldn't help but be taken aback and took a sip.

With that sip, Reiger immediately regretted it.

This tea was unbearably sweet!

It tasted like at least a dozen spoonfuls of sugar had been added, the sweetness nearly causing Reiger's tongue to dissolve!

Reiger's lips moved slightly as he thought to say something but then decided to give up.

Because he saw Yuri drinking the same black tea with an expression of enjoyment, clearly very satisfied with her cup.

Reiger was not without emotional intelligence; naturally, he would not deliberately point anything out at this time.

Instead, it was Yuri who seemed to be observing Reiger; seeing him sitting there in silence while wearing a faint smile on his face all along.

"Seeing you so spirited puts me at ease," Yuri said. "When the servant went to deliver your food and received no response upon knocking, I thought you were resting and didn't dare to disturb you, but you stayed in your room all day long, without eating or drinking. If it weren't for the magic system protecting this villa being deactivated, I might have thought you'd been harmed again."

One could imagine that if Reiger had appeared even a bit later, Yuri might have allowed someone to barge into his room to investigate.

After all, Reiger had previously been the target of an assassination in this very mansion.

It was natural for Yuri to be especially concerned.

"I apologize for worrying you," Reiger put down his teacup and said, looking at Yuri, "But as you can see, I'm in good condition now, and there are no serious issues."

"I can see that," Yuri scanned Reiger from head to toe and nodded with satisfaction. "Your condition is indeed much better than yesterday."

The current Reiger was no longer the sickly figure he had been, his complexion no longer pale, appearing very lively and in good health, his gaze even seemed different from before, like a treasured sword ready to be unsheathed, containing a hidden sharpness that made Yuri take notice.

Reiger's recovery was, of course, good news.

"What are your plans now?"

Yuri asked casually as she stirred the tea in her cup with a spoon.

Reiger didn't hesitate much.

"Now that I've recovered from my injuries, naturally, I plan to leave. I shouldn't impose on you any longer."

This decision had been made by Reiger before his return.

The Franzel family was different from the Loki family.

The Loki family was Reiger's home, where everyone was connected by the Divine Blood of the main god. Reiger, being a child of Loki and a member of the Loki family, did not see anything wrong with staying there.

But the Franzel family was different.

This place had no ties to Reiger, and the original host had nothing to do with this Marquis family; otherwise, he would have been overjoyed.

Yuri was Reiger's lifesaver. Her sheltering him was just to allow him to heal in peace, a gesture of goodwill, not a reason for Reiger to comfortably stay and live at someone else's expense.

For someone from a distinguished Marquis family to let a boy whose original self was a country peasant recover here was an act of mercy. Now that Reiger had recovered, it didn't seem right to trouble her further.

However, Yuri frowned at this.

"Is this a good idea?" Yuri paused her tea stirring and addressed Reiger. "There are still people out there who want to kill you. While you're here, they might still have some reservations, but once you leave, they won't need to hold back anymore."

In other words, once Reiger left this place, he would very likely face immediate assassination attempts and danger once more.

This was not something Reiger could have failed to consider.

But—

"After all, these issues were targeted at me," Reiger said calmly. "I don't wish to trouble you any further."

"I don't mind," Yuri said with a slight smile. "It's rare to find a friend with whom I can converse freely. Even if you were to stay, you are most welcome."

"But I can't hide here for the rest of my life, can I?" Reiger met Yuri's gaze and said, "Situation as it may be, I'll have to face it eventually."

Hearing Reiger's words, Yuri fell silent.

It wasn't just Yuri; even Marilyn glanced at Reiger subtly, seemingly surprised by his statement.

"What's wrong?"

Reiger found their reaction strange.

"Nothing," Yuri shook her head and said with a sigh, "It's just that you really are different from the person mentioned in the rumors."

Reiger fell silent.

He knew what Yuri meant.

As a member of the Marquis family, Yuri certainly could have effortlessly uncovered Reiger's past.

Or rather, through her investigations, Yuri had learned what the original owner of the body was like.

And what kind of person was the original host?

Someone who had the courage to leave his rural village in pursuit of higher status and traveled to the big city might be considered brave and ambitious, right?

But as his talent was recognized and people started to flatter him, the original host had long since lost his initial drive, becoming arrogant and spending his days in bad company with noble youths, wholly corrupted by the urban glitz.

How could such a person be viewed in a positive light by others?

Fearing his reputation might be poor?

To Yuri, who had witnessed Reiger's current behavior, the discrepancy was naturally quite large.

If the original owner knew that someone outside was peering in on him, ready to kill him at any moment, he would have died of fear by now, and even if pushed, he would not want to leave this place.

Even more so, upon seeing Yuri, a bigwig from the Marquis family, the original owner might even think this was a rare and excellent opportunity.

If he could ingratiate himself with someone from the Marquis family, wouldn't the status and power he desired be within easy reach?

These were the kinds of things the original owner would consider.

As Reiger was thinking this, Yuri suddenly spoke up again.

"Although you said that, I think it's better for you to stay here for the time being."

Yuri's words made Reiger lift his eyelids and look over at her.

It was only after a long pause that Reiger spoke, "Have you already investigated those who attacked me?"

Yuri's reaction led Reiger to that possibility.

Unfortunately, Reiger was going to be disappointed.

"It's still the same as before, we can't find out anything. The other party has covered their tracks very cleanly," Yuri shook her head and said, "But precisely because it's too clean, I'm a bit suspicious. This might not be as we previously thought, merely having some big shot targeting you."

Upon hearing this, Reiger's eyebrows also furrowed as he said, "What do you mean by that?"

Yuri didn't answer immediately.

She seemed slightly distracted, gazing at the teacup in front of her, then finally asked a question.

"You do know who I am, right?"

At her words, Reiger couldn't help but pause.

But he still answered truthfully.

"In this country, it's probably the minority that doesn't know who you are, right?"

Reiger looked straight at Yuri and suddenly said, "You are the Family Head of the Franzel household, the Marquis of the Ginath Kingdom, and also the Chief Court Magician of the kingdom, one of the strongest magicians on the continent who has received the title 'Tactical Level Magician.'"

Yes, this was Yuri's true identity, and also the reason why Reiger considered her to be one of the most badass personalities in the world.

This girl who appeared to be a wealthy young lady was not the Marquis's daughter or the next heir, but had already taken over as the head of the Franzel family and had been personally bestowed the title of Marquis by the King.

The Franzel family used to be just a declining nobility, until this talented young lady appeared and the family rose to power, becoming a great nobility in the Ginath kingdom second only to one and above ten thousand others.

And it was because Yuri Franzel was an extraordinary genius that she had managed to achieve all this.

At a young age, she possessed the strength to become the kingdom's chief court magician.

Two years ago, she had become one of the strongest magicians on the continent, claiming the title of 'Tactical Level Magician,' causing a sensation throughout the Ginath Kingdom.

Because of this, she managed to accomplish all of this and became the brightest, most dazzling star in the kingdom.

However, upon hearing Reiger's words, Yuri began to laugh.

"The continent's strongest magician?" Yuri said somewhat self-deprecatingly: "It's just being able to use the most advantageous magic for warfare; a mere tool of war. How can that be considered the strongest magician?"

Reiger was at a loss for words.

He was not unable to understand why Yuri would say such a thing.

Every magic in this world is roughly divided into three levels.

These three levels are Combat Level, Tactical Level, and Strategic Level.

Combat Level Magic refers to magic with relatively low power and narrow attack range, used only for duels against individuals or small groups.

Tactical Level Magic refers to magic with relatively high power and wide attack ranges, capable of destroying a village or an entire troop with one strike.

Strategic Level Magic refers to magic of immense power and range, capable of instantly annihilating a city or even destroying a small country.

Out of these three levels of magic, one might think that Strategic Level Magic is the strongest and Combat Level Magic is the weakest, but this is not the case.

Strategic Level Magic indeed has terrifying power, but its conditions for use are very strict, with almost no chance of being utilized in a battle; its only purpose is as a weapon of mass destruction on the battlefield, thrown into the enemy's camp.

While Combat Level Magic is indeed the weakest in power, its conditions for use are simple and are the mainstream in battles.

Thus, many in the industry actually believe that mastery of Strategic Level Magic does not qualify one as the strongest. It's simply becoming a weapon of war, and truly powerful magicians definitely master Combat Level Magic.

However, this view may be popular in the industry, but in the kingdom and among the people, it hardly has any traction.

The reason is simple.

This is a world with many nations, many forces, vying for power on a continent constantly at war.

The states don't value the so-called strong who can win consecutive battles, but weapons that can sweep through the battlefield and instantly destroy enemy forces.

Thanks to this, whether it's the Ginath Kingdom or other nations, they all highly value magicians capable of using Tactical Level and Strategic Level Magic.

If there's a magician who can use Tactical Level Magic, they can instantly be ennobled into the aristocracy and be taken into the kingdom.

And if there's a magician capable of using Strategic Level Magic, then it's even more remarkable. The kingdom would regard them as a national treasure, and to win them over, they might even directly confer onto them the title of a great noble, allowing them to easily gain power and authority.

The original owner had this very idea in mind, and that's why he left home without a second thought after learning he had immense Magic Power.

Because, to perform Tactical Level and Strategic Level Magic, the biggest requirement is to have enough Magic Power.

Yuri is a successful example.

She became a Strategic Level Magician, recognized as one of the strongest magicians on the continent, and in exchange, the Franzel family gained their current status.

Only, it seemed that Yuri wasn't too keen on that sort of thing.
