Chapter 103: Chapter 26: Part 2

- Rimuru -

"Third place… hah!" He sighed. "Even after going through all that…"

"Don't be sad, Rimuru-san. It's probably because they didn't recognise your character." Kazuma consoled him.

"Then how did Ainz get the first prize?" He asked, pointing towards his friend who looked straight out of a B Grade Horror Movie, grinning as he held the first prize trophy.

If anyone saw that scene, they would probably stop organising the tournament from the next year thinking that the trophy was haunted.

"Ughh… that's probably because the armour looked cool either way. I mean it was a real metal armour, ya know." Kazuma shrugged.

"Oh yeah… I completely forgot about that. I should have thought about that earlier."

"Still, third place is quite good. I should have dressed as something else too. Joseph Joestar… is quite normal when people don't know Jojo Manga. They were throwing me weird looks when I did the Jojo poses."

"…yeah, that could have been better." He agreed.

"But still, to think Lucoa-san would get the second prize. She wasn't even participating." Kazuma said, looking at the former Goddess who was being surrounded by Tohru, Kanna and Naruto.

"Yeah… they dragged her in and rewarded her with the second prize. The only reason they didn't give her the first prize was to not piss off the huge guy in the steel armour." Rimuru also replied.

"Anyways, at least you won the third prize. Poor Fafnir didn't get anything even with that scary costume of his." Kazuma shook his head.

"That wasn't a costume." Rimuru clarified.

"Eh?"

"That was one of his forms. The reason he didn't get anything was because even the judges were scared by that form of his and didn't want to see him again. Seriously, being too good is no good either." Rimuru shook his head, exasperated.

"Really, all horny men. Where's the so-called loyalty between guys? Someone tries so hard but doesn't get anything for being too good while someone gets all the votes because of one… two… reasons." Kazuma exclaimed righteously.

"Oh, whom did you vote for then?"

"Lucoa-san." Kazuma answered without skipping a beat.

Suddenly Kazuma turned towards him. "By the way… those are not real, are they? There is no way they can be real."

"They are." He replied, seriously.

"How do you know?" Kasuma asked, looking skeptic.

"Silas bumped into them face first." He replied.

"Tch, damn harem protagonist."

"Exactly."

As they were discussing this, Yuri came to them.

"Rimuru-sama." She greeted with an elegant bow.

"Oh yes, Yuri."

"Someone wants to meet the manager of the Crossroads' Band."

"Crossroads Band's Manager?" He asked, looking confused. "Who?"

"It's… Sara. She wants to meet the organisers of the band."

"Hah!"

Rimuru took a look at Ainz who seemed to have heard the same and looked confused.

Sara…

What the hell?

"Eh! Sara-chan! Can I get her autograph? I didn't see her yesterday. She left very early." Kazuma jumped up excitedly.

Ainz however placed a palm on his shoulder. "Calm down, Kazuma."

"Eh, Ainz-san? Do you want an autograph too? By the way, where did you even find her from? By the way, she was hot wasn't she? Although she looked great in the goth outfit, I think she would look even prettier in something like a sexy nurse costume or ohh ohh, a magical girl costume."

Rimuru's lips twitched at the words while a green wave passed over Ainz.

"Kazuma."

"Yes?"

"Please never… ever say that in front of Silas. He might just neuter you."

"Eh? Is she? Is she… another one of Silas-san's…"

"His sister. She's his sister." Rimuru interrupted, ending that line of thought.

As much fun as they were having in this whole thing, they knew better than to push Silas too hard lest he snaps.

Sil, as lovable as he was, could go pretty crazy when he snapped.

"What!"

"Anyways, let's go and see what that is about." Ainz said as he put on his own disguise and they started walking towards the door.

He used telepathy to speak to Ainz. "Do you think someone is pretending to be Sara to scam money?"

"Who knows? Anyways, I doubt Silas would ever use that form…"

"Yeah, there is no way he woul…"

Both of them suddenly stopped as they looked at the figure in front of them.

Dressed in a pink Magical Girl costume, all set with a pink magical wand in her hand, there standing in front of them was… Silas… or rather Sara.

What the fuck!

"Oi oi… is this real?"

"Do you think… he actually… liked that?"

Did their prank awaken something in their friend?

Don't worry, Silas. We support you… no matter what.

"First check if this is some kind of an illusion." Ainz replied as he stepped forward to talk.

"Yes. How may I help you?"

"Where is she?" the Magical Girl asked.

"Huh?"

"Where is that faker, Sara?"

"What?" Ainz asked, confused.

By then Rimuru had also realised the reason for that.

"Ainz, her energy is different from Silas. She is not Silas. It's someone else." He quickly reminded his friend.

What the fuck?!

Did Silas accidentally impersonate someone?

Was that illegal?

Accidental Identity Theft?

What kind of crime was that?

Thankfully Ainz was very good at improvisation.

"What do you mean, Sara?" He asked, pretending to be confused. "Is this some kind of prank? I know we are just on a temporary contract but you left as soon as the contract was over but you left right after the concert and now you come and pull a prank." The more he spoke the more severe he got.

Good job Ainz.

"Yes, what are you talking about Sara-chan? Where did you go after the concert? You even missed the afterparty yesterday." Rimuru also went ahead and pretended to be confused and disappointed.

"I am not that Sara. She is just someone who looks like me. I want to ask you where that woman is?" The girl asked, getting slightly annoyed now.

Rimuru and Ainz however were not going to give her any opening and just looked at her in confusion.

It was after a few moments that Ainz broke the silence. "Are you perhaps insinuating that you are… twins?"

"Twins? Hah! I am not her twin. She just looks like me… or was just pretending to be me. I am the original. Why would I be her twin? Now can you tell me where she is?"

Ainz frowned at this. "I am sorry but we don't know where she is. She left right after the concert and we haven't seen her since then."

"Then tell me where she lives." She asked.

"That…" He was going to say something when Ainz put a hand on his shoulder and looked at the girl.

"That will not be possible. We cannot disclose the personal information of any of our employees, not even temporary ones."

Oh, oh yeah. That works.

"Yes yes. I am sorry but if you want any information beyond this then you need to get a police warrant. Company has policies."

The woman in question just narrowed her eyes and the next moment a sound rang through Rimuru's head.

*Mental Interference detected. Attempt to control mental facilities was repelled.*

What the fuck!

Mind Control?

This chick is crazy!

He suddenly thought of something and sent a message to Ainz through his telepathy.

"Ainz. You there."

"Yes. What is this crazy woman doing? Should I just take her out and interrogate her? I will use a paid item, you bind her. If it doesn't work, I'll blow her head off."

"No! We don't know what kind of person she is or where she is from. Who knows how many people are with her and what kind of trouble it will bring? Just… play along."

With that, he pretended to be hypnotised.

"Good. Now, tell me where's that fake, Levia-tan wannabe?" The woman asked, looking smug as hell.

"We don't know." They replied in a robotic tone.

"Hah!"

"Sara was a temporary contract who we recruited through an audition for the promotion of our comics. She left right after the concert after collecting her payment. We haven't seen her since then."

"Hmm. Did she leave any contract information? Where did she stay?"

"We don't know. We hired her at the last moment because our original singer got into an accident and couldn't perform."

"Didn't she come to perform today?"

"No."

"Who was performing today then?"

"A different singer."

"Show me the videos for today's concert."

Rimuru nodded, leading the woman to a room on the side. On the way, Kazuma popped up again.

"Oh Sara-chan! Can I get an autograph? You left so early yesterday, I couldn't get any time to ask for one. Oh, by the way, this costume looks great!" He gave her a smile and a thumbs up.

The girl's eyes twitched first but then brightened up at compliments on her costume.

"You think so?"

"Umm uum ten out of ten."

"Ahahahaha I knew it. How can a fake goth girl compare to the Magical Girl Levia-tan. You have got good taste. Here, give me this." She took his notepad and gave him an autograph and even did a magical girl pose… which Rimuru would have called cute and cheered for her… only if she hadn't tried hypnotising both of them earlier.

"Thank you. I really thought I wouldn't get to meet you and was thinking of asking Silas-san to get an autograph from you."

Crap.

"Silas?"

"Umm, Silas-san, your brother? I really didn't know you were siblings. Rimuru-san told me earlier." Kazuma pointed towards him, making the girl narrow her eyes. "But then again, when I look closer, you two do look a bit alike and both of you sing so well too."

"Oh?!"

"Anyways, I gotta go. I need to go and check out some new games. See ya."

"Bye bye." She waved at Kazuma with a bright smile till he was gone and then she turned towards them. "Now… who is this Silas… and why didn't you tell me that he was this Sara's brother."

Rimuru froze. Perhaps, this was the first time he was thankful for his slime physique that he could keep his poker face so well.

"He's not." Ainz replied suddenly, taking control of the conversation.

"Then what was that Kazuma guy talking about?"

"We were joking because he thought they looked similar to each other and he took it seriously." Ainz lied.

Good job, Ainz.

The girl deflated. "Show me the videos." She commanded.

They quickly showed her the videos of the concert and she actually took the copies. "Here's my card. Inform me if you find any information on her."

"Yes."

She didn't wait any longer and actually left.

"What the fuck was that all about?" Rimuru asked.

"No idea. But it looks like our prank might have attracted the attention of some crazy people. We will need to lay low for a while." Ainz replied, narrowing his eyes.

"Hmm. Anywhere, where is Silas? Why isn't he back yet? Didn't you call him earlier?" He asked.

"He was in the amusement park nearby. I called him because we have received several offers for concerts for both Sara and Silas from several talent agencies."

"Anyways, call him and tell him to go back to the Restaurant directly."

"Hmm. I will go and delete any surveillance tapes in the Comiket security room and erase any traces of us."

"Yes, do that."

With that, both of them got to work before anyone found anything.
