JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Horizons

Chapter 33: Chapter 30: The Requiem of Time and Sound

---

Prologue: The Clash of Wills

The battlefield was unrecognizable.

Where there had once been a city block, now there was only a void of shattered time.

Fragments of moments—buildings that had never been destroyed, echoes of screams from battles yet to be fought—hovered in the air like reflections in a broken mirror.

At the center of it all stood Minh.

He didn't need to attack.

He was time itself.

And yet—

Akira charged forward.

Despite knowing the impossible odds.

Despite feeling the weight of Minh's ability distorting every moment.

Despite realizing that his enemy already knew how this battle would end.

It didn't matter.

Joestar blood didn't stop.

The sound of his Stand, Echo Chamber, pulsed through the broken world, sending waves of defiance through the distorted space.

The two forces—sound and time—collided.

And the battle for reality itself began.

---

Phase One: The First Strike

Akira's foot slammed against the cracked pavement as he dashed forward.

He weaved through unstable futures, dodging phantom attacks from realities that hadn't even happened yet.

Minh merely watched.

Then—

With a single gesture, he snapped his fingers.

The entire battlefield shifted in an instant.

The broken ruins reassembled themselves, time flowing backward as shattered buildings reversed their destruction.

Akira felt a sudden pull—

His body lurched back.

His wounds sealed. His steps reversed. His every action began to undo itself.

"Oh no."

He was being rewound.

---

Phase Two: Trapped in the Past

Akira found himself standing in a moment that had already passed.

He was back at the start of the battle.

Minh stood before him, unchanged.

Cetz smirked from the sidelines, watching the game unfold with casual amusement.

"Déjà vu?" Cetz mused.

Akira's eyes widened.

"He reset everything?"

No.

It wasn't just a reset.

Minh had trapped him in a time loop.

A prison of repetition.

Every move Akira made had already happened.

And Minh…

Already knew the outcome.

"Try again," Minh said, his voice eerily calm. "If you want."

Akira clenched his fists.

He had fought Stand users who controlled elements, physics, even perception itself.

But this—

This was different.

"If he can erase my actions from time itself…"

"Then how the hell do I win?"

---

Phase Three: The Sound That Defies Time

Akira gritted his teeth.

"If I can't break time… I'll make it break itself."

His Stand, Echo Chamber, vibrated violently—its soundwaves reaching a frequency that began to shatter the loop.

Minh raised an eyebrow.

"Impressive," he admitted.

Akira's grin was strained, sweat dripping down his face. "Yeah? You haven't seen anything yet."

With a deafening boom, Echo Chamber unleashed a soundwave so powerful that the air split apart—

Time wobbled.

The loop cracked.

For the first time, Minh's expression shifted ever so slightly.

A crack in perfection.

A disturbance in inevitability.

Akira sprinted forward.

And this time—

Minh did not stop him.

---

Phase Four: The Tyrant Strikes Back

For a moment, Akira thought he had broken free.

For a moment, he believed he had found a way to defeat Minh's impossible ability.

For a moment—

He had hope.

Then—

Minh spoke a single word.

"Pause."

Akira's body froze.

Not by choice.

Not by his own will.

Time itself had stopped.

His heartbeat halted.

His breath stilled.

His consciousness remained—but his body no longer belonged to him.

Minh sighed, stepping forward.

"You're remarkable," he said calmly, standing before Akira's motionless form. "You adapt. You challenge the inevitable. You even attempt to break free of the fate I've already decided for you."

Minh slowly raised a hand.

"But fate… does not care about effort."

His fingers closed into a fist.

Time resumed.

And in that single instant—

Akira's entire body was obliterated.

---

Phase Five: The Fall of Sound

Silence.

Dust settled where Akira had once stood.

Minh turned away, his expression unreadable.

Cetz sighed, shaking his head. "Damn. That was cold."

But Minh didn't respond.

Because—

The sound didn't stop.

The wind shifted.

A faint echo resonated through the air.

Minh's eyes narrowed.

And from the swirling dust—

A voice whispered.

"You think I'd go down that easily?"

Then—

A shockwave erupted.

Akira was still standing.

Bloodied. Broken.

But standing.

His Stand, Echo Chamber, flickered with unstable energy.

Yet—

It hadn't disappeared.

Minh's expression darkened.

"Impossible."

Akira wiped blood from his lips.

"Yeah, well…" He smirked. "I don't follow your damn rules."

The battlefield shook.

The final clash was only beginning.

---

Phase Six: The Horizon Cracks

Minh took a slow step forward.

For the first time in the battle, he showed intent.

"You shouldn't exist right now," he muttered. "I erased you."

Akira rolled his shoulders. "Yeah, I noticed. Real inconvenient."

Cetz let out a laugh. "Oh-ho… now it's getting interesting."

Minh extended his hand.

The air crystallized.

Reality fractured.

An entire alternate timeline collapsed into a single moment—

And Minh hurled it at Akira.

A storm of erased possibilities, a torrential flood of futures that never happened.

But—

Echo Chamber roared.

Sound met time.

And—

For the first time—

Minh's attack was stopped.

The cracks in reality froze.

The echoes of past, present, and future collided in a deafening wave.

Akira's Stand had evolved.

Minh's expression remained calm, but his fingers tightened.

A slow breath escaped him.

The first hint of effort.

"...I see," Minh muttered. "You're more than I calculated."

Akira grinned. "Damn right I am."

Minh took another step forward.

Time shuddered.

Cetz leaned against the ruined wall, grinning.

"You're both insane," he muttered.

And then—

The final phase began.
