Journey to become a Sword god

Yaruichi kept watching the battle intently.

She saw how skillfully Aoi used his shurikens to defend himself and his teammates from the opposing team shurikens.

She smiled at Aoi's performance. with his Shurikens jutsu, and she kept watching the battle.

The two teams started charging at each other and started engaging in Taijutsu, except for Aoi, who stood in his spot scanning the training ground.

Yaruichi noticed that Aoi wasn't only scanning the battlefield; he was memorizing every spot in the training ground, the positions of his teammates, and the positions of the opposing team. 

Aoi noticed a member of the opposing team was dashing towards him; he quickly started throwing shurikens at him while retreating.

"CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK, CLANK."

His opponent started dodging some of the shurikens and blocked some of them with his kunais.

When he was close to Aoi, he punched him in the face hard.

"PUFF."

When Aoi fell on the ground, he was replaced with broken pieces of rock, which surprised his opponent.

Behind one of the rocks in the battlefield, Aoi started performing a series of hand seals, and after he finished executing the hand seals, his opponent was paralyzed in the spot.

Aoi smirked when he saw he had succeeded in executing his genjutsu. He quickly shunshen behind his opponent and hit him in the back of his neck.

Yaruichi smiled when she saw this, and she said to Kagi, "This kid is really good."

Kagi smirked and nodded his head with pride.

After defeating his opponent, Aoi saw his teammates are still engaging in a Taijutsu battle with their opponents.

He quickly executed another set of hand seals, and one of the opposing team members became paralyzed after he finished his hand seals sequence. 

Aoi's teammate took this opportunity to his advantage and started throwing punches and kicks at his opponent.

His opponent wasn't fast enough to break from the genjutsu and fell harshly on the ground.

Aoi's teammate then took a Kunal and placed it at his opponent's throat.

His opponent sighed. He then raised his hand and said to Aoi's teammate, "I quite."

Aoi's teammate smiled, and he stepped backwards, then helped his opponent on his feet.

When Aoi saw that his teammate had defeated his opponent, he turned his head towards his other teammate, and he then started executing the same hand seals to cast a paralyzing Genjutsu on the last member of the opposing team.

When Aoi executed the genjutsu successfully at the last team member of the opposing team, his teammate took advantage of that by attacking his opponent with his taijutsu.

When the last member of the opposing team fell to the ground, Aoi's teammate pointed a kunai at his opponent's throat.

Kagi and Yaruichi stepped forward when they saw this, and Kagi yelled, "That's enough; all of you step back."

All the genins obeyed and they stepped back Yaruichi looked at Aoi and smiled, then she said to him while pointing her finger at him, "kid I'm interested on you Your skills will fit my team perfectly Are you willing to join my genin team?"

Aoi smiled in happiness when he heard this. He bowed his head respectfully and said to Yarauichi, "It will be my honor, mam."

Yaruichi nodded her head in satisfaction. She then said to him, "Very good. I want you to be at training ground 3 in three days at 8 a.m.; don't be late."

Aoi nodded his head obediently to Yaruichi. She then turned to Kagi and said to him while smiling at him, "Thanks for your help, Kagi. See you around."

After saying her farewell, she shunshen away.

The next day

With Kojiro 

In the Tsuchikage training ground 

After training in Taijutsu, chakra control, and Kenjutsu with Onoki.

Onoki started telling Kojiro about different assassination missions, espionage missions, tracking missions, retrieval missions, infiltration missions, and reconnaissance missions he participated in in the past.

Kojiro and Onoki discussed the strategies that Onoki used when he did those missions, and they tried to discuss with each other how to improve those strategies.

After they finished discussing, Onoki said to Kojiro, "Listen, little Kojiro, I know that you are obsessed with Kenjutsu. There is nothing wrong with that. When I was a kid, I was obsessed with ninjutsu. However, you have the potential to be an all-rounded shinobi; you should try and master different shinobi arts and disciplines; those arts could save your life and your comrades one day."

Kojiro looked seriously at Onoki and nodded his head, then Onoki continued saying, "To be able to master different shinobi disciplines, you will need to visit the shinobi library and read more about those arts. Also, you will need to improve your chakra control more. I will help you in mastering your affinities; you have the same affinities as me after all."

Kojiro looked at Onoki and smiled. He then bowed his head and said to Onoki, "Thank you, sensei."

Onoki smiled and nodded. "Listen, little Kojiro, you have learned about chakra nature transformation in the academy, so I will not talk about the basics of chakra nature transformation or their relationship with each other."

"I am going to show you exercises to help you master your earth-nature affinity that you have. When you master those exercises, your chakra control will improve by leaps and bounds."

Kojiro smiled and nodded his head, then Onoki continued, "Earth style is one of the most versatile elements along with wind and water styles. With earth style, you can defend, attack, hide, sneak on your enemies, and trap your enemies."

"As long as you are on land, you can use the entire battlefield as your weapon."

Kojiro thought about it, and he remembered that earth-style ninjutsu he had mastered and nodded to Onoki in understanding.

Onoki then grabbed a fist-size rock from the ground and said, "Usually, there are two exercises you need to do to master earth chakra nature transformation; however, Lord first invented a third exercise. When you master those exercises, your molding and controlling of earth chakra nature transformation will be much easier than before."

Kojiro listened intently, and Onoki continued, "Your first exercise is to turn a fist-size rock into dirt by using only earth chakra watch carefully."

Kojiro looked carefully at the rock on Onoki's hand; after a moment, the whole rock turned into dirt.

"In order to create an earth chakra, you need to make your chakra rigid and sturdy as much as possible; imagine your chakra as hard as stone." 

Kojiro nodded. He grabbed a fist-size stone, and he started attempting the exercise.

Onoki then said to Kojiro, "Your goal for today is to at least turn part of this stone to dirt. After you finish doing this, meet me in the Tsuchikage office, and I will give you a new earth-style ninjutsu for you to master and a new chakra control exercise."

Kojiro nodded his head obediently to Onoki, then Onoki turned around and started walking back to his office.

After Onoki left the training ground, Kojiro looked intently at the stone in his palm, then he started focusing his chakra on his palm, trying to turn the stone into dirt.
