Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Is this Shinjuku?
My name is Xia Je, I am 23 years old and a college student who started working a year ago.
I've been separated from my girlfriend for half a year, now I'm a free bachelor.
I live in a moderately large community and work in a building near my house.
I go to work promptly at 9 o'clock every day and return home promptly at 8 o'clock in the evening, just for coffee and company dinner.
I am not a person who smokes and only drink a little. As a 2D-loving man I spend my free hours watching anime. However, I never go to bed after 1 am.
I go to bed promptly at 1:01 every night, fall asleep as soon as I close my eyes and sleep until dawn.
I wake up promptly at 8:30 every day, like a baby, no fatigue or stress. The doctor said my body is normal, I have always followed my usual schedule.
Until tonight...
My classmate sent me the ultra-clear version of "Jujutsu Kaisen 0".
For the first time, I violated the rules I set and followed the anime after 1 am.
Then, my body seemed to be cursed and my heart suddenly ached at 1:02.
The last scene I saw in my blurred consciousness was Yuta Okkotsu on my monitor screen.
And everything became dark. I don't know how much time passed, but there was a memory of the life of a boy named Ren Takashi in my mind.
The life of this 15-year-old boy was like that of a small animal falling into a swamp, drowning in the mud, but unable to do anything.
When I was 6 years old, my mother died of an illness and my father took me abroad to Shinjuku in Japan.
A strange country, a strange city, strange people... made me feel lost and silent, which also made me the target of bullying from other classmates.
For various reasons, my relationship with my father has always been cold, and I never told him what I experienced.
At first, I thought I would always be a stranger to him.... until yesterday, there was an unprecedented riot in Shinjuku.
Countless civilians on the street were fleeing blindly, as if they were avoiding something terrifying.
At that time, I was still hiding in the rental house playing video games, and I heard explosions everywhere.
My father suddenly opened the door. He seemed to have seen something, was visibly nervous, and wanted to take me somewhere to hide.
But I tried to get out of his hand, and at that instant, a huge black shadow rushed into the room where we were.
My father hugged me and turned his back to me, trying to block it with his body, but the enormous force knocked us both unconscious....
---
Xia Jie blinked and slowly opened her eyes. She had an indescribable expression, and countless thoughts were spinning in her head.
This nightmare was really terrible. Everything seemed to happen to her, and she could hardly distinguish the border between reality and dreams.
After a while, Xia Jie slowly exhaled a puff of murky air and finally got rid of that strange and dull mood.
She looked around and suddenly discovered that she was not at home.
"Huh, do I have an IV?" Xia Je looked at the bandage and infusion tube in his hand and was a bit stunned.
The smell of disinfectant in the air and the blue and white hospital gown made him realize he was in the hospital.
That's right, he suddenly fainted from angina, and he should have been admitted to the hospital! Xia Jie reacted. But... no one should have the key to his house. Who sent him here?
As Xia Jie wondered, a middle-aged nurse with a plump figure opened the door.
"Number 6 Ren Takashi, it's time to take medicine!" the nurse said.
The nurse didn't speak Chinese; she sounded a bit Japanese, but for some reason, Xia Jie understood what she meant.
Her mind was not very clear and she could not tell the difference between the languages.
"Here!" cried Xia Jie, feeling indescribably weak and limp.
The nurse came over with a dresser, took the IV out of his hand, looked at him and said, "I know it's you, put your hand down! And don't shout so loud!Careful you don't break your head wound!"
The head wound... Isn't he suffering from angina pectoris? Xia Jie was a little confused and suddenly felt an unexplained pain in his head. She reached up and touched her head, which was still bandaged.
What's wrong? Xia Jie looked puzzled. The nurse continued, "The medicine has arrived! This is the daily dose: one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening. Remember to take the medicine on time!".
Xia Jie was lost in his mind, with all his attention on his head. He paid no attention to what the nurse was saying. Seeing him like this, the nurse stopped him, "Don't touch your wound all the time!
"Just wait for it to heal by itself! Fortunately, the wound is not particularly deep - you can be discharged after a few more days of observation!"
How did he hurt his head? Xia Jie felt her thoughts were a mess. The nurse kept saying, "If the ambulance hadn't arrived quickly, your injury would have been dangerous!" The nurse said a few more words to Xia Jie.
Seeing that Xia Jie looked drowsy and didn't seem to have woken up yet, she curved her lips and said nothing more, pushing the medical cart out of the room.
"My classmate..." Xia Jie muttered to himself, "Is it Wang Yang or Cheng Cheng, they both live far away from me!"
"Someone brought me here, it feels like someone hit me with a vase on my head, how strange this situation is."
Xia Jie reached out to touch her cell phone and was about to call them to ask, but couldn't find it after searching the bed.
Xia Jie found the locker key in the closet beside her, she got up from the bed with difficulty and opened her own.
What caught her eye was a high school uniform; the surface of the uniform was dirty and had dark red blood stains on it.
Xia Jie's expression became increasingly strange. He took the uniform out of the locker, compared it with himself and found that it fit him quite well.
Xia Jie cautiously looked at the reflection in the hospital window, and the reflection in the glass reflected visible panic.
What the hell!!! Xia Jie was so scared that he dropped the uniform on the ground and slapped his face hard.
Fuck, it must be an illusion!
The reflection in the window must be too blurry, and I must be seeing things!
Xia Jie staggered into the living room bathroom and stared at the mirror on the wall in disbelief.
The boy in the mirror appeared to be only sixteen or seventeen years old, with a bandage on his head. His face was very attractive. His eyes were especially clear, like spring water in the mountains. However, there was a finger-length scar on his right eye, which inevitably stained the muddy spring water in the boy's eyes and destroyed the beauty of his appearance.
Xia Jie stared at the face in the mirror. He did not care about the appearance of the person in the mirror, he only cared if the person in the mirror was himself.
He raised his hand gently, and the person in the mirror also raised his hand.
He pinched his cheek, and the person in the mirror also pinched his cheek.
Xia Jie's inner hope was completely shattered. There was no doubt that he didn't know what was happening and traveled through time and space to become a completely unknown child.
No! It didn't seem to be unknown to him!
The other part was the Ren Takashi from his dream!
No wonder he felt that the nurse was talking to him strangely. The other person spoke Japanese! But how could he understand him?
Xia Jie looked out the window suddenly, and those buildings, familiar and unfamiliar, appeared before her eyes.
Suddenly she understood: This is.... Shinjuku!
