Chapter 91: The Number one Radish
Demon Castle – 90th Floor
The deeper they went, the more the castle resisted their intrusion. On the 90th Floor, an overwhelming number of demons awaited them, their numbers more than doubling from previous levels. It was clear now—the dungeon was reacting to their power, sending its forces in an attempt to slow their advance.
Po grinned as he cracked his knuckles, his eyes gleaming in excitement. "Finally, some real opposition!"
Jinwoo smirked, drawing his daggers. "About time. Thought we'd clear this whole thing without breaking a sweat."
The two Monarchs fought more actively, cleaving through the demon hordes with raw power and overwhelming technique. Unlike before, where Jinwoo's army and Po's dragons would do most of the work, the two warriors took the front lines, tearing through the battlefield like forces of nature.
Lightning crackled in Po's fists as he weaved through enemies, his precise strikes reducing them to shadows. Jinwoo's blades flashed, carving through demons effortlessly as his own army of shadows backed him up.
The fight was intense but short-lived. By the time they reached Floor 97, both had reached level 90—a testament to the absurd number of enemies they had cut down.
Esil, watching from behind, was awestruck. Her hands trembled as she took in the destruction. They had just annihilated the Ricardo and Peitos clans—the 5th and 4th-strongest among demon nobility—like it was nothing.
"Are… Are all humans this powerful?" she whispered in disbelief.
Po and Jinwoo exchanged looks before chuckling.
"Not really," Jinwoo said. "There are only a few as strong as us."
Po, however, glanced at Esil and smirked. "Well, Esil, if you keep training, maybe you'll get close."
She blinked in surprise before a small smile formed on her lips. "You really think so?"
Jinwoo frowned, glancing at Esil. "You should head back down. It's dangerous from here on—"
Po cut in, shaking his head. "Jinwoo, if we can't protect our teammate while fighting, then that just means we're not strong enough to face real threats yet." He placed a hand on Esil's shoulder. "True strength comes from fighting to protect. Our bonds and power feed off each other—you gain strength to protect, and you protect because you're strong enough to do so."
Esil's eyes sparkled at his words. Without thinking, she leaned up and kissed Po on the cheek, making the normally unshakable warrior blink in mild surprise.
"You're really kind, Po," she said softly, her cheeks red.
Jinwoo rolled his eyes but smirked. "Alright, enough flirting. Let's move on."
With that, the trio entered Floor 98.
Incheon International Airport
A commotion stirred within the airport as the presence of an American Hunter caused a buzz among the crowd. However, two figures paid it little attention as they walked through the terminal with purpose—Japan's strongest S-Rank Hunter, Goto Ryuji, and his assistant, Hanekawa.
Goto was dressed in a sharp black suit, his white dress shirt crisp beneath his jacket. His intense gaze scanned the area as Hanekawa followed beside him, maintaining her professional demeanor.
They were soon greeted by a representative from the Korean Hunter's Association, who led them to a private conference room. Inside, Go Gunhee—Korea's strongest Hunter and Guildmaster—was already waiting.
As Goto entered, his eyes briefly widened in surprise. He had heard that Gunhee was in his 80s, yet the man sitting before him looked far younger, almost in his prime.
'How…?' Goto narrowed his eyes but hid his thoughts behind a calm expression.
Gunhee, on the other hand, studied the Japanese Hunter with a measuring gaze. He had heard that Goto could stand on equal footing with Liu Zhang, making him a formidable force.
The two sat down, both adjusting their black ties as they exuded the air of powerful men discussing matters far greater than themselves.
Hanekawa, acting as the interpreter, got straight to the point.
"Due to recent disasters, Japan believes that Jeju Island can no longer be ignored. The Ants must be dealt with immediately, and Japan is prepared to give Korea its full support."
Gunhee nodded, rubbing his chin. "I can agree with that… but striking the heart of their colony is too dangerous."
At this, Hanekawa handed over a file containing Japan's gathered data on the Ants.
"Their main weakness is their short lifespan—only one year. The real threat is the Queen, who continues to produce more Ants. If we take her out, the war is over."
Goto leaned forward, steepling his fingers. "Japan will provide 10 S-Rank Hunters, including myself. However, we need Korea's best to handle the Queen."
Gunhee studied him for a long moment before grinning. "Then we have an agreement."
The two shook hands, sealing the Jeju Alliance.
As they finalized the plan, Goto couldn't help but glance at Gunhee once more, still puzzled by his youthful appearance.
Demon Castle – Floor 100:
Po and Jinwoo had reached level 93 as they approached Floor 100—where the Demon King, Baran, awaited them.
But instead of waiting for them to enter, Baran came to them first.
The sky darkened as a massive Wyvern descended from above, its wings flapping with raw power. Seated atop it was Baran, the Monarch of White Lightning, his crimson eyes glowing with malice.
"Intruders… your journey ends here."
BOOM!
With a gesture, Baran summoned his Hell Army, flooding the battlefield with thousands of powerful demons.
Esil trembled in fear, her hands shaking as she saw Baran for the first time.
Po immediately acted, summoning Shadow-Light Dragons and placing Esil on one. He handed her a dagger, its blade slightly longer for reach.
"You're not useless, Esil. If you wanna survive, fight."
With that, the battle erupted.
Jinwoo faced the Hell Army alone, using Monarch's Domain to summon his soldiers, but Baran's AOE lightning attacks forced him to burn mana quickly.
Po, meanwhile, took to the skies, clashing with Baran midair.
Tusk joined the battle, blasting a fire beam at the Wyvern, knocking it to the ground.
Now, it was Po vs. Baran, one-on-one.
Jinwoo gritted his teeth. 'If I don't grow stronger now… I won't be able to help.'
Esil suddenly threw a spear, distracting Baran.
Po seized the opening, ripping off the Demon King's arms before unleashing a devastating punch that sent Baran's head flying, parting the storm clouds to reveal a warm orange sky.
Jinwoo grinned, wiping his forehead. "Hey, Esil—tell your dad that the Radish Clan is number one now."
Esil just sighed at the terrible joke.
"It's Radiru."
As the system messages rolled in,
[Demon Monarch's Ring], [Demon King's Longsword], [Baran's Horns]…
Po grinned as he absorbed Baran's soul—turning him into a Shadow-Light-Dragon.
With the Holy Water of Life now in hand, their quest was complete.
Esil beamed. "We need to celebrate! My father will throw a banquet!"
But Po and Jinwoo had other plans.
As they teleported out of the dungeon, Esil pouted, realizing she didn't even get to say goodbye properly.
She sighed. "Why are men like this?"
Seoul
As Po and Jinwoo reappeared in their neighborhood, they summoned Kaisel and took off.
Across Seoul, multiple S-Rank Hunters suddenly felt their presence.
Choi Jong-In.Baek Yoonho.Go Gunhee.
and the other S-Ranks.
All of them had the same thought.
"They're back."
