Chapter 5: Chapter 3: The Fall of the House of Death
By Yama-2, the God of Death
"However, this is not the reason you are here. Before we proceed, let me ask you this question. Why did you crawled into the hurricane?" Death asked. Farsi's mind raced with recollections of the storm that had led him here, a tempest that he had once believed would be his demise. "I thought it was the end," he admitted, his voice tinged with a sense of resignation.
"You fool!" Death shouted. "It was not to kill you but to give you water. Why would I kill the only person that have been the reason for my well-being?" "The only person for your well-being?" "Yes. You were the only person that continued to send me more souls."
The revelation struck Farsi like a thunderbolt, the realization that he had unwittingly become the provider of souls to Death. The notion that his actions in battle had fed the insatiable hunger of the god of the underworld was a revelation that shook him to his very core.
Now that you are no longer there, how do you think I'll survive?" Farsi's expression froze, he did not actually believed that there was a god somewhere and that he was the one who continually fed him with humans soul: the souls of those vanquished by his blade. It turned out after all, that he was the escort: the escort of death.
"But the emperor reigns victorious, having conquered the Sultanate." Farsi interjected, his mind struggling to grasp the implications Death's revelation. It seems that he has not gotten over the fact that he was actually feeding a god with the souls of people he killed in battle.
Death's chuckle was tinged with a hint of resignation. "Ah, but as we speak, the emperor sits in council with leaders from far-off lands, forging alliances and treaties. Do you understand what this means? There shall be no war, no chaos, no bloodshed. All this, because you are no longer among the living. Because my chosen escort is no more!
How stupid I was to sent a hurricane to feed you water..I mean, who does that? Who sends a hurricane to give water to a person? I'm the reason my escort is dead! I'm the cause my family is no more! I am stupid! Death did an easy gesture with his hand to the left side of his head, emphasizing his statement. "Is that the reason your palace looks like hell?" Farsi ask. "Damn right, that is the reason.
"There was a time when the house of death was in it's full glory, at the height of its strength. These halls were fill with laughter, and people sat in those seats, some people even stood. Especially when it was death day, everyone, all the peasants and nobles would crowd these halls as they pay homage. It was a time of enjoyment and fulfillment.
"I would sit on this very throne, and my wife, life, would sit by my side. Together we laid the balance: we created an environment where good and evil, poor and rich, life and death could coexist. But those times was soon destroyed when my wife got pregnant and delivered a twin, Chaos and Peace.
"However, after the successful delivery, she could no longer live. It was then that I got to know what my wife had done: she told me that she sacrificed her life to the goddess Infantsia, the goddess of fertility. How stupid I was at that time. I should never have complained about wanting a child. My wife would have been here now if I hadn't complained about her barrenness.
"Her death shattered my world, I would sit on my throne and lost my self in reminiscence, forgetting to look over our children. They were in their youths when I started to pay them attention, but by that time, the damage had already been done. I would receive complaints that chaos descended upon the world of the mortals and plunged it into war.
"However,I would keep silent for I benefited from war than peace. In deference to my silence, peace began to propagate what she called 'Diplomacy'. However, I did not intervene because I thought that the sword was power than words. But to my dismay, mortals started to promote it, and that was the beginning of the fall of House of death.
"Love, a young and beautiful woman who was a close friend of Peace, caught the sight of Chaos. He would go to war against great kings and commanders, as that was what he was great at, and bring the best of jewelry and gold for the young maiden, Love.
" However, this did not sit well with peace who was pacific, and she threaten to end her relationship with Love If she doesn't end her relationship with Chaos or convince him to stop his war against mortals. However, when Love told Chaos her discomfort to wards war and that that she was pacific, he pounced on the table saying that he is war and war is him. There is no him without war, and he would rather end his relationship with Love than to end his war against mortals.
"When Love told her friend Peace about Chaos's response, she laughed, saying that chaos was damn right and that she already had a plan. One night, as Chaos and Love were making out, Love added something to his drink. And when he fell at sleep, she cut off his hair.
"Peace knew that if she killed Chaos, I would not take his life, and Chaos's spirit will hunt her the rest of her life. This may lead to madness or death. Thus, she decided to cut his hair instead. She put him in a cage and flew away with him. Since then, the world has been advocating this doctrine called diplomacy."
