Legendary FBI Detective

Chapter 595: Car Accident, Driver's Identity, Pursuit, Greetings

At the intersection, the green light was flickering, soon to turn yellow then red, and most of the cars on the road began to consciously slow down.

At that moment, a truck loaded with goods, as if losing its brakes, barreled towards a black SUV at the intersection amid horrified looks of pedestrians and drivers!

"Fu-k!"

"Oh my god!"

"Jesus!"

"Generous crab!"

The drivers on the road, as well as the pedestrians on both sides, saw this scene and their faces drastically changed!

Many women instinctively covered their eyes or mouths, already imagining the gruesome scene that would ensue on the road the next second!

The truck was coming from the left side of the road, that is, the left-hand side of driver Luo An. Mona was just turning her head to speak to Luo An when she saw the rapidly approaching truck, her face turned pale, and she screamed:

"Luo An! Be careful!"

"Hold on to your seatbelt!"

Luo An's expression chilled, he shouted loudly, then suddenly shifted gears, floored the accelerator and turned the steering wheel to the right!

Just before the appearance of the truck, an intense pre-warning signal came from the "Emotion Perception" in his mind, and Luo An instantly spotted the oncoming truck.

After all, a vehicle is a mechanical item, not as agile as the human body. If Luo An weren't driving, he could easily dodge the incoming truck.

But at that moment he was driving the SUV, he could jump out to escape, but Mona on the passenger seat could not react in such a short time, and she would definitely get hurt or even die.

Thousands of thoughts flashed through his mind in an instant, and Luo An quickly found the best solution for the situation; braking was already too late, might as well keep going forward!

As the pedestrians on both sides and the drivers on the road watched in astonishment, the SUV suddenly accelerated and turned right, positioning its rear towards the truck's front.

Boom—

The next second, the out-of-control truck slammed heavily into the rear of the SUV, and under the tremendous force of inertia, the SUV uncontrollably shot to the right side for several meters.

Leaving two deep rut marks on the road, the black SUV suddenly surged from the left side, using the heavily dented rear as a sacrifice to pass by the truck and stop at the roadside, the airbags deployed, but the two people in the driver and passenger seats were unscathed.

"Holy cow!"

"Are you kidding me?"

"No fu-king way!"

"What kind of driver is that?!"

The truck heavily collided with the road guardrails, yet the SUV managed to swerve left and right in the blink of an eye, ultimately parking smoothly on the roadside. This scene made the pedestrians and drivers on both sides widen their eyes in shock, their faces filled with disbelief.

Inside the SUV, Mona was still shaken, the incident happened too fast, and she was still struggling to come to terms with it.

Thud—

Luo An, without wasting words, amidst the curious and shocked gazes of the onlookers, stepped out of the SUV, walked up to the truck, opened the door, and yanked the driver out.

The truck driver was a middle-aged Caucasian, wearing the most common Federal attire of jeans + jacket. Pulled out of the truck by Luo An, his face looked as if he'd seen a ghost, as he had never expected Luo An's actions.

"Hello, I am from the FBI."

Luo An's expression bore not anger but rather a sunny smile as he directly asked:

"Do you know me?"

The truck driver shook his head, quickly saying:

"I don't know you, I didn't do it on purpose, the brakes failed, I don't know what happened..."

False!

The "Emotion Perception" in his mind immediately judged the man was lying.

Luo An was not surprised; even without the "Emotion Perception," he saw the indisguisable cold intent in the eyes of the truck driver when he pulled him out of the truck.

Together with the negative emotions the truck driver kept emitting when facing him, Luo An could confirm that the man was targeting him.

"Sorry, I really didn't do it on purpose, I'm willing to pay..."

While the truck driver repeatedly apologized, seeming very sincere, Luo An couldn't be bothered with more talk and directly punched him in the back of the head with his right fist.

Thud—

A muffled sound as the truck driver's eyes rolled back and he immediately fell unconscious; in a surveillance blind spot and unseen by others, Luo An took out a bottle of[Sleeping Potion]and poured it into the truck driver's mouth, then carried him back to the SUV.

Due to the rear of the SUV being hit, the back seat had become too cramped to accommodate another person.

Luo An didn't care either. Though the seat was trashed, there was still space on the floor, and he hadn't intended for the other party to sit anyway; lying down was fine. So he threw the unconscious truck driver into the back.

He pulled out a dagger to cut off the airbag, then Luo An settled back into the driver's seat to start the car. Mona, sitting in the passenger seat, took several deep breaths to suppress her underlying panic.

Seeing the truck driver in the back seat, Mona frowned and asked:

"This guy…"

"This guy came after us."

Restarting the SUV to continue towards their destination, Luo An explained in a cold voice while driving:

"We can't leave him at the crossroad, nor can we hand him over to NYPD. I'm afraid he might suddenly shoot himself in the back."

Mona grasped the implied meaning in Luo An's words, then noted another issue and asked quietly:

"Our operation was very urgent and swift; how did this guy know our route?"

"Community leaders, bystanders, surveillance, even the SWAT team members in that troop carrier behind us could be possible."

A thoughtful gleam flashed through Luo An's eyes as he suddenly chuckled softly:

"There really are some brainless folks out there."

"What?"

Mona tilted her head, not understanding the meaning behind Luo An's last remark. Luo An didn't explain but instead said:

"You stay in this SUV later, keep an eye on the truck driver, and make sure no one else takes him away."

"Understood!"

Mona nodded firmly, and Luo An no longer wasted words, pushing the SUV's accelerator to the floor as they passed a Buick.

Speeding forward, they raced like lightning, amid deafening noise.

Because the rear of the car had been hit, the back seat's glass was already shattered, causing enormous wind noise as the SUV sped along.

Mona tapped on the keyboard for a moment, then shouted loudly:

"Luo An! The group that suddenly appeared and attacked NYPD, they have taken Francisco, who is Nacho Jones!

And this group has escaped NYPD's encirclement! They are moving westward!"

Luo An's expression flickered, and he demanded:

"The exact location!"

Mona quickly plotted the course, and Luo An, without wasting words, again twisted the steering wheel changing the SUV's direction.

Soon, the SUV overtook some civilian cars and caught up with the group.

There were a total of three vehicles, all off-road cars; Mona relayed from NYPD that the group had about 10 people.

"OK."

Luo An nodded. Before he could speak further, from the last off-road vehicle of the three ahead, seeing the battle-damaged SUV closely following, people inside suddenly drew guns and aimed at Luo An and Mona, pulling the trigger.

Bang bang bang—

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A barrage of bullets crazily hit the SUV's front hood and windshield. Mona immediately pulled out her gun, opened the right window, and returned fire.

Seeing small cracks appearing in the front bulletproof glass, Mona shouted in urgent tones:

"Luo An! What do we do?!"

"Pull your arm back, hold onto the seatbelt, remember the order I just gave, leave the rest to me!"

Luo An's eyes narrowed slightly as he took a wrench from the toolbox to lock the accelerator, then pulled out a handgun from his waist.

With the accelerator jammed, the speed of the SUV shot up rapidly, soon crashing into the off-road vehicle ahead!

Boom—

A loud noise; the two guys shooting from the off-road vehicle, instantly thrown off-balance, briefly stopped shooting.

At the same time, the SUV's window glass, under Mona's terrified eyes, was shattered by the last few bullets fired by the opponents.

Having already unbuckled his seatbelt, Luo An, capitalizing on the inertia from the glass breaking and the collision of the two vehicles, suddenly flew out the front window, shot the rear window of the off-road vehicle with his pistol, grabbed it forcefully and climbed inside.

All this happened too fast. Before the people inside the jeep could react, they suddenly heard a gentle unfamiliar male voice:

"Good afternoon, everyone, pleased to meet you all."
