Chapter 217: Rolling That Gacha Luck (4)
"Trash trash, trash, trash, oo, cheery tree, nope still trash, trash trash, SIGH." Sitting before a large gathering of different plant types, all of which were stored in stock clay pots, Aoni scrolled through his Summon's Display, looking through each of the various plants he'd just summoned out of the multi.
Unfortunately, while they may have emerged from the Flume in the same manner as when he performed his original multi-summon, the orbs didn't wait for him to "open" them. Instead, each plant was deposited on the ground in a chaotic manner.
Gradeless ArticPear Tree sprout X5
Gradeless Generic Mountain Bush sapling X3
Gradeless SweetWinter Grass X8
Gradeless Spearmint bush sapling X2
Gradeless SnowCherry Tree Sprout X1
Gradeless Artic Willow sapling X1
Gradeless Tundra Daisy X10
Gradeless WinterWhite Poppy X10
The list went on and on, and unfortunately, although some things could probably end up being useful if Aoni were to upgrade them, nearly everything he'd gotten out of the first multi could be classified as, well, TRASH!
Oddly enough, the thing he'd gotten the most of were flowers.
"Sigh, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up, multi-summon or not, my luck has always been shitty." Waving his hand and storing all of the plants in his inventory, Aoni looked down at the table half full of Node stones and seriously debated with himself about trying for a second multi or just going about things the long way.
"OooO?"
{'Brodder didn't do dancy?'}
"What now? Dancy…wait, no, that couldn't actually work, right?" Looking down at Glacia, who was stretching beside her sister with her front paws out and butt in the air, Aoni's mind reeled at the concept of his stupid superstition being the reason behind getting such good items out of his original Multi-Summon.
{'Sister is right, brother, didn't you have us do a little dance for good luck last time? Maybe that's why you aren't summoning the moss thingys.'} Nyria said while feeling a bit sad that she couldn't swipe a couple of those pretty flowers for her Nest in time before her Lord put it all away.
'Hey, something like a dance can't ACTUALLY increase the probability of getting better loot from the Flume, can it?'
| Maybe, maybe not; there is no way to tell for certain. However, considering the Host's previous experience in summoning, they did break the strange traditions normally used all the other times |
CLAP
"Welp, guess I got no other choice, ALL RIGHTY THEN, GET ON THOSE PAWS AND CLAWS GIRLS, LET'S GET US SOME GOOD STUFF!" As he spoke, Aoni devoured numerous resources to recover his Energia before Clapping again and smiling at his summons like a dance instructor.
"With me now, right foot let's stomp, left foot let's stomp, TURN AROUND, Jump and kick, then do a little wiggle, THEN SPIN!" step by step, Aoni constructed an elaborate dance and spoke each move aloud for his summons, who quickly joined in while cheering and eventually catching onto the moves rather quickly.
"Gaoo gaoo GAAOOo oOoooO GAOOOO!"
{'Rig, an lef an WEEEE, an bouncie wouncie, kicky kick, wiggie wiggie, WEEE!'}
"Chee chee cheee chee chee cheee! CHEEEEE!"
{'Right, left, Turnnnn, JUMP, HI YAHH!, wiggle wiggle SPIN!'}
Of course, there was quite a difference between the words they were saying while dancing; however, the intent was present, and that's all that matters, right?
Leaving his summons to continue their dance number, Aoni moved toward the table, Charged his hands with Energia, and smashed a pre-arranged pile of forty Node Stones before rushing forward and placing both hands on the right side of the artifact.
'Please give me something good, please give me something good, please give me something good!' As per usual, Aoni repeated the chant three times cause, of course, he did, and then once the glow covering his hands vanished, he jumped away from the Flume and crossed his fingers while Glacia and Nyria continued their cute dance.
'Moss, moss moss moss, no wait, cave moss, cave moss, give me CAVE MOSS!'
hhhhHHHHUUUUMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmm!
With the usual humming sound arriving and leaving in only a few short seconds, there was a bright flash of light that caused Aoni to turn around to protect his eyes and step forward to block the light from blinding the birb and floof.
{'AH BROTHER THERE'S GOOD STUFFS!'} Looking up at Aoni and noticing he was practically crushing his eyelids, Nyria peeked around his leg and noticed several different species of plants she had only seen in small batches.
Certain ones, in particular, happened to be the source of several important Energia-rich fruits.
Hearing Nyria's call out, Aoni whipped around, nearly tripping over Glacia as she continued doing her silly dance and witnessed the most glorious thing he could ever hope to see in his time of need.
Sitting there, nestled between a few small plant sprouts, were four 1x1 foot wooden crates packed…with, you guessed it, a light blue moss!
"YES, YES, YES!!! LET'S GOOO!" Jumping up and down and triggering his summons to join him in the excitement, Aoni skipped around the room, weaving through the many potted plants, ignoring the things Nyria had called "good things" and swiftly picked up one of the crates, then referenced his Summon's Display.
1: Tundrum Schistostega Pennata Sapling
Durability: UnRanked (►)
Grade: Gradeless (►)
Effect: N/A
Not wanting to get ahead of himself, Aoni carefully placed the crate filled with moss back on the ground and grabbed a second to compare them and then the next, and by the time he got to the fourth crate, his grin was practically infectious.
All four crates were the same species of moss, and based on his survival training, he knew it to be a certain type that primarily grew in dimly lit caverns or caves!
Mind you, the color was ENTIRELY different from what he knew; however, the structure and texture of the plants were practically identical to the examples given in the survival courses.
"THIS IS GREAT! Good Stuff. Come on, girls, we need to head down to the cavern right away and get these four crates set up in the ceiling; then I can upgrade it and…"
"Chee! CLACK CLICK!"
{'Brother, I know you are super happy and all, but we can't do that; the bad guys will be coming to attack soon, so we gotta beat them up first!'} Feeling a bit bad that she was interrupting Aoni's happy time, Nyria couldn't allow him to ignore the incoming evening monster tide.
