Limitless Evolution: I’m The New Dragon God?

Chapter 113: True History

"In the ancient days, when humanity had only just begun forming civilizations, our world first witnessed the arrival of Dragons," Noah began, his voice steady yet tinged with weight. "They appeared in the skies like colossal predators whose very presence struck fear into all who saw them. And they were not alone. They followed one ruler... their Queen, Tiamat."

His eyes darkened. "History remembers her as the tyrant who enslaved humankind, forcing our ancestors to serve her will. Then came the Dragon Slayer, Valarox—a hero who challenged the queen, defeated her, and sealed her and her kin away in the Dragon Realm. Never again would their claws reach the human world."

Noah paused, his tone tightening. "At least... that is what the records claim. The truth, however, is far more complex. A truth only a select few are allowed to know."

Felix leaned forward, unable to hide his eagerness. "Please, Commander... tell us the rest."

"Yes. From the ancient texts our alliance unearthed, we learned that long before the arrival of dragons… there were the Hollows—creatures born of pure darkness. They had already corrupted every human who had ever walked this world. But then, a single dragon descended. The Sacred Sun Dragon. Under Queen Tiamat's command, it purified humanity, burning away the Hollow corruption."

She let the silence linger for a moment, watching the disbelief on their faces.

"Dragons were not our oppressors… they were our saviors. And Valarox, the so-called hero of humankind? He was nothing more than a corrupted human, a puppet to a far greater evil that sleeps deep within the very core of our world."

Gasps rippled through the room, but Aurora's voice did not waver.

"Yes. Beneath us, at the heart of this planet, something is feeding—devouring the world's essence—preparing to be reborn as a Celestial Evil known as…"

She stopped, letting the silence stretch until it felt suffocating. Even Noah shifted slightly, his usual calm replaced with grim tension.

Finally, her voice dropped, almost a whisper, yet every syllable struck like a hammer.

"Nyx'tar, the World Eater."

A cold pressure seemed to settle over the office. Felix felt the hairs on his neck rise. Irina's hands trembled against her knees. Even Ryu, who had faced horrors in the Hollows, felt a shiver run through his spine.

Aurora continued, her eyes hard as steel.

"Every Hollow you've ever fought… every wave… every death. All of it is just the byproduct of its slow awakening. And when Nyx'tar finally opens its eyes… the world will end."

"Nyx'tar, the World Eater?" Ryuzen murmured, unable to find any connection between that name and the Dragon God's System he possessed.

Noah's gaze shifted to him briefly before sweeping over the room.

"We don't know why the Dragons chose to save humanity… but they did. And in doing so, they successfully stopped its awakening in the past. Now, that burden falls on us. The Dragon Realm remains sealed. We can't hope for any further aid from them."

Venus raised her hand, her tone sharp with curiosity.

"But, Commander… what about the recent news of Dragons emerging across the continents? How did they even get here?"

Noah nodded, as if he had expected the question.

"Yes, they've been sighted. But every single one of them hatched from Dragon Eggs that somehow arrived here. Most were devoured by wild beasts before they could grow. The few that survived are still infants. We believe the Dragons used a special bypass to send those eggs into our world."

He paused, his eyes narrowing.

"As for their true motives… or their goals… we are still blind."

Venus frowned in deep thought.

The Golden Dragon… and the Black Dragon from my dreams, the ones who gave me these powers… are they truly absent from this world as well?

The question gnawed at her, but she kept it to herself for now.

Rudos broke the silence, his voice carrying a sharp edge.

"Commanders, if what you're saying is the real history of the world, then why keep it hidden? Why keep printing those books that paint Dragons as villains and Valarox as a hero? That's not just wrong… it's a lie."

The air turned heavy at his words. Commander Varn, Noah, and Aurora all fell silent.

Finally, Varn exhaled slowly and spoke, his tone low but steady.

"Because humanity needs a symbol of hope."

As everyone was confused, he explained,

"Think about it… if the truth spread, that the world is ending and there's no one left to save them, what do you think would happen? Chaos. Riots. People would lose their minds… some might even take their own lives before the end arrived."

His words sank into the room like stones into water.

They all froze, realizing he was right. Humanity was fragile—without hope, it would shatter. And so Valarox, the very Fiend they knew, had been turned into that hope.

A cruel irony… but one they had all lived under.

But Rudos still looked displeased for some reason.

But then another thought tugged at Ryuzen's mind.

"Commanders," he began, his voice steady but curious, "I understand everything you've said so far… but what about the Systems and the Dungeons? How did they just… appear out of nowhere?"

The question made Venus, Rudos, Irina, and Felix all glance toward him, their brows lifting in surprise.

Noah and Aurora exchanged a knowing look, faint smiles tugging at their lips.

"We don't have that answer," Noah admitted. "But perhaps… there's a force out there, somewhere beyond our reach, that decided to extend a hand to us unfortunate mortals."

Aurora's gaze turned distant, almost reverent.

"With minds as small as ours, we can barely grasp how these Systems or Dungeons function—let alone where they truly came from."

Her words lingered in the air, heavy with both mystery and unease.

After the brief investigation concluded, the Junior Blood Legion was dismissed and told to rest.

The moment Ryuzen and the other four disappeared down the corridor, a lone figure emerged from the shadows.

"Ryuzen was lying," the figure murmured, voice low and certain. "At least… about some part of it."
