Chapter 548 - 15 Shou Peak_4

Chapter 548: Chapter 15 Shou Peak_4

As expected, since the Azure Spirit Turtle was a hybrid of the mutated Yellow Throat Stone Turtle and the Armored Giant-head Turtle, even though there were countless similar formulas in the library, these two were still absent.

“Three new formulas!”

Excitement surged in Wang Ba’s heart.

Only then did he realize that changes in the main ingredients of a spirit food recipe, would count as a new recipe.

For example, a formula using a Precious Chicken and a Class I Spirit Chicken, and a formula using a Class II Spirit Chicken, existed independently from each other.

The same was true for a Class I and Class II Azure Spirit Turtle.

This opened up a new direction for him.

If he managed to obtain a recipe similar to the Precious Chicken that only involved Class I creatures, but not Class II ones, could he cultivate a Class II Spirit Beast and then research the corresponding refining method and consider it as a new recipe?

If it were possible, it meant that he could continually provide new recipes to the Sect for rewards!

The rewards might not be much, but certainly a lot more than he could earn just by working in the Spirit Food Department.

Of course, there were plenty of advantages in the Spirit Food Department as well. Aside from aiding his cultivation, it promoted the proliferation of his spirit food craft.

“However, if that is the case, I cannot neglect Beast Control.”

A key thought crystalized in Wang Ba’s mind.

Only if he became proficient in Beast Taming, could he more efficiently cultivate higher-grade Spirit Beasts, transform existing spirit food recipes, present them to the Sect, and earn merit from the Sect.

With gained merit, he could buy more cultivation resources, retrieve more spirit food recipes from the library, and thus gain more new recipes, forming a self-sustaining loop.

“If that is so, the Master was right. I indeed need to take the trip to Shou Peak seriously.”

After mulling over it, Wang Ba chose to leave the Myriad Library instead of immediately contributing these three recipes.

The True Spirit of the Scripture Library did not hinder him.

But not long after Wang Ba departed,

in the lowest level of the five-storey tower of the Myriad Library, where numerous jade slips and scrolls were placed, a bald female Cultivator, leisurely strolling among them, suddenly froze. A wordless scroll quietly presented itself before her.

On the scroll, a line of text appeared out of thin air.

“A disciple has collected three new spirit food recipes but has not contributed them…”

The bald female Cultivator looked at the text on the pages, a slight surprise on her face.

Out of curiosity, she slowly stretched out her hand and opened the pages.

As the Manager of the first two floors of the Myriad Library, she had the authority to see many things.

Upon opening the pages, a seemingly ordinary cultivator was projected out.

“Is it him?”

The bald female Cultivator showed an unusual expression and recalled some information about this person.

“The disciple of the Peak Master of Wanfa Peak…”

“But he’s only at the Foundation Establishment Stage.”

The bald female Cultivator shook her head slightly and casually closed the pages.

Just a Foundation Establishment Cultivator, nothing worth paying attention to.

Half a month later, it was Spirit Food Department’s day-off.

Wang Ba stood before a peak that was notably taller and broader.

An invisible barrier enveloped this peak.

Intermittent sounds of bird calls and beast roars could be heard from deep within the peak.

The top of the peak was flat, with simple houses there. The number of houses was clearly much more than on Wanfa Peak. Even from a distance, several Spirit Beasts could be seen on the top of the peak.

Below, the peak stood like a pillar. A black, scale-covered, elongated creature coiled around the waist of the mountain. Detecting something, the black body slowly slithered, then a giant black horned dragon head, as large as a house, slowly peered out from behind the mountain. Its two scarlet eyes, as large as a house, stared at Wang Ba.

For a moment, Wang Ba’s scalp tingled in fear!

“That’s a Ghost-eyed Chi. You better not look into its eyes.”

A not-so-friendly voice echoed from nearby.

At the sound of that voice, Wang Ba quickly turned his head and saw a young cultivator with a somewhat boyish look standing not far away. In his gaze at Wang Ba, there was a hint of resentment.

However, Wang Ba didn’t notice this but was slightly surprised at the aura of the black snake coiled around that person’s waist.

The aura from this black snake had startlingly reached a middle grade of Class III. Its scarlet snake pupi retracted, before burying its head away in the person’s waist.

Seeing this, Wang Ba quickly put on a smile. Raising his hand in a salute, he said:

“Junior Brother Mo.”

This was none other than Qi Yan’s disciple from the Beast Taming Lineage, Mo Qi.

However, Mo Qi turned around and bluntly said:

“The master knew you were coming and asked me to wait here for you. Come with me.”

Wang Ba was taken aback, unclear about why Mo Qi was behaving this way towards him, but he put it aside as he was here to learn the art of Beast Control.

He then followed Mo Qi to the top of the peak.

At the peak, there were more than a dozen cultivators of various ages and auras. Most of them were interacting with their Spirit Beasts, and when they saw Wang Ba behind Mo Qi, they looked at him with slight curiosity. However, almost immediately, their attention returned to their Spirit Beasts, their gazes filled with affection.

It seemed that for these cultivators, Spirit Beasts were their everything.

Wang Ba found this scene intriguing.

Although he was also adept at raising Spirit Beasts, aside from a few Spirit Beasts, he never paid much attention.
