Lord Evolution: Starting With SS-rank Skills

Chapter 303: Evil Spirits

"Ren and Liara, something is happening to them! It's very bad! You need to come with us, Rowan!"

Riela shouted at Rowan once she spotted him in the midst of the crowd. Elara, who was running beside her, had a very depressed expression on her face.

Rowan strolled towards both of them with a concerned expression while wondering what could be the condition of Ren and Liara.

When he asked, Riala worryingly brushed off the question and told him it was too difficult to explain.

Having no other choice, Rowan princess carried Riela and began sprinting towards his new destination.

The soldiers and the others sprinted behind them both.

Rowan arrived at his destination.

At the moment, a large crowd of villagers were surrounding the house. Each one of them had the same depressed and worried expression on their faces.

"Lord Rowan."

They greeted Rowan when they spotted him.

Rowan subtly nodded at them and made his way into the entrance of the building while grabbing the hands of Riela who refused to let go.

Now standing at the entrance, Rowan's gaze fell on the room that was now filled with people mourning.

On the two beds available, Ren and Liara could be seen shivering nonstop, their eyes were wide opened and their mouth continued muttering strange words that were difficult to understand.

"Lord Rowan, my sister is dying."

Bruce's wife cried out as she spotted Rowan.

Rowan could only ignore her cries as he had no answer for the current situation.

'What is happening this time? System run an analysis.'

Nevertheless, even with the analysis of the system, Rowan was still unable to find out what was happening.

At that moment, Eliman and Dragun, who flew their way down, finally arrived and strolled closer to the commotion.

Eliman analyzed the situation with a frown on his face and a single phrase quickly appeared in his mind, one that he immediately blurted out.

"The mindless curse."

Rowan tilted his head in the direction of the voice, confused. "Mindless curse?"

Eliman nodded and walked even closer.

"It started appearing around six months ago, each month at least a dozen people suddenly fell into an unending slumber. Frequently, they experienced something similar to what these two are currently experiencing, sometimes they just wake up randomly and starts spurting nonsense for quite sometime before falling back asleep."

Rowan found his narration very similar to what has been happening to Ren and Liara for a long time now.

"That is exactly what these two have been going through for quite sometime. Have you guys been able to find a cure by any chance?" Rowan asked in a really concerned tone.

At the moment, everyone in the room turned to look at Eliman with worried and curious expressions, awaiting his response.

His next words would determine the mood of these people for quite a long time. Even Rowan felt uneasy as time went by without an answer from Eliman.

"Luckily, there is a cure." Eliman muttered with a bright smile on his face.

His answer made everyone including Rowan to subconsciously heave short sighs of relief.

Even Dragun became extremely interested in the discussion.

"I think the cure is something you would like to hear alone," Dragun suggested.

Rowan immediately understood the situation and nodded.

"Everyone, stay calm, as you guys have heard, there is way to save Ren and Liara." Rowan announced in a gentle tone.

"At the meantime, I want to personally inform you guys that the war with those monsters are finally over and victory is ours. Your fathers, husbands and brothers are currently on their way here. They have fought very hard to ensure your safety so please celebrate with them instead of making them worried." Rowan continued.

His announcement of victory was not meant with as much delight from the crowd as he previously expected.

Only about half of their villagers whose relatives had gone to war felt relieved and delighted.

Nevertheless at the same time, they could not properly rejoice due to the sorrowful atmosphere of the place.

Rowan heaved a sigh and signaled for Eliman and Dragun to come with him.

Dragun and Eliman strolled as far away from the villagers as possible before opening discussions. Once they were further enough, Rowan ignited the discussion and asked the question troubling him.

"There is really a cure, Rowan, but the cure is risky and has a low success rate," Eliman responded.

"It involves using a powerful evil invoking spell to summon evil spirits that had stepped their feet in your territory.

The last time one was done in my academy, we ended up summoning thousands of evil spirits that wrecked havoc and tried to control the mind of every human surrounding them.

Some of these evil spirits are very weak, these include the ones responsible for minor fevers and bad luck.

And there are powerful ones who are able to control the mind of their victims into doing harmful things.

Once they are summoned, you have to kill all of them.

If you manage to kill the cause of the curse, your villagers would be healed."

Hearing Eliman's explanation, Dragun and Rowan quickly realized how dangerous it really was.

"The people have not even recovered from the threat of the war. If they learn they would have to undergo a war with evil spirits, they would be devastated."

Eliman explained while he refused to speak of the cure in the midst of the villagers.

Rowan thought about the problem and the solution — Ren and Liara are valuable people he wouldn't want to lose, both of them possess a unique set of skill and knowledge that are essential to the development of his territory.

Rowan had to consider if he was willing to risk endangering the life of the villagers in order to rescue those two.

"Is there any way to prevent those evil spirits from harming the villagers?" Rowan asked, frustration etched on his voice.

Eliman shook his head, removing every hope Rowan had.

"How about we build a magic formation to trap the evil spirits once they are summoned?" Dragun spoke up.

"Unfortunately, that is not an option, the potency of the evil spirits invoking spell makes the evil spirit invincible to such inconvenience."

Dragun heaved a sigh of disappointment.

Rowan thought about the situation for a few minutes more and heaved a sigh. He turned to Eliman and asked.

"How easy is it to kill the evil spirits?"

"Pretty difficult, weapons are ineffective. Except spirit magic, no other magic spell can affect them," Eliman responded. "But there is an exemption for you."

"Huh, why do you say such?"

"Because you possess one of the most powerful mythical weapons, it can slay every entity including spirits."

Hope finally returned after hearing this statement from Eliman.

Rowan's expression brightened and he turned to look at Eliman.

"How long would it take to prepare this spell?"
