Lord of Mysteries: Starting As A Reader

Chapter 532: Retrospective Analysis

Lacking sufficient information, Ebner couldn't draw further conclusions about some matters, so he decided to set them aside for now and instead organize the gains from reviewing the memory fragments.

"First, I've essentially confirmed that Danit Tinekerr was a transmigrator... Additionally, since his memory fragments barely touch upon his time in Lenburg, I have a hypothesis:

He not only made contact with the God of Knowledge and Wisdom in Lenburg but was also recognized as a transmigrator by Him. As a result, this entire segment of his memory was likely 'obscured' or 'sealed,' as it involves both the secret of transmigration and a deity.

Second, the symbol I saw after placing '1-025' on the second-tier stone platform in the grand hall pointed to the Chained God... The true essence of that ritual was a sacrifice — returning the Chained God's original characteristic back to Him.

With that in mind, combined with intelligence I've gathered earlier, I can reconstruct some of the arrangements made by Danit, Roselle, and others.

It likely began with experiments Danit conducted alongside the God of Knowledge and Wisdom in that ancient castle sealed with the Chaos Sea.

The purpose of the experiment may have been to separate pollution or find a way to combat it... During this time, Baron Conva and Lady Austin inadvertently stumbled in and became test subjects.

Thanks to their contributions, the experiment achieved some success, though it wasn't enough to fully restore Baron Conva. Out of guilt, Danit informed him about Sefirah Castle.

This guilt may also relate to Jane's ancestor, the Death Consul.

After all, Danit's invention of the pure dew seems suspiciously similar to the records in The Book of the Undead. He might have inherited knowledge from that Death Consul, which fueled his guilt toward the baron.

Of course, this is merely speculation without concrete evidence."

Ebner continued organizing his thoughts:

"Later, Danit accidentally discovered the secret of the Ghost Empire, including the coordinates of one of its docks.

Based on my analysis of those coordinates, they should correspond to a location in the Mirror World above a section of the Furious Sea. The so-called 'periodicity' refers to when calm conditions form a mirror-like sea surface. This calm state might not occur even once in centuries in the Furious Sea, which explains why no one else discovered it.

Given its location, Danit likely stumbled upon it either when returning to the Southern Continent or during his initial journey to the Northern Continent. Very few would have this knowledge.

He cleverly disguised the grand hall in the Mirror World as a relic of the Trunsoest Empire, as though it genuinely concealed the secrets of the Ghost Empire.

Whether Danit leaked this information himself or had Roselle disseminate it later, the goal was to naturally attract organizations interested in the Ghost Empire and complete the subsequent plan.

After setting up the grand hall, he either succumbed to fatal injuries or willingly let himself be killed by the Mandated Punishers, turning his characteristics into a sealed artifact that fell into the hands of the Church of the Storms.

Centuries later, through means unknown to me, he left a message for Roselle, who cooperated by placing a 'Judgment' card at the entrance of the grand hall, making it seem perfectly logical for the Loen military to arrive there.

Additionally, Roselle trapped that lion outside the maze — clearly intended for me and Jane. I'm unsure about Jane's side, but it likely has to do with her ancestor, the Death Consul.

As for me... Heh, I was probably a key element of their plan — meaning the sacrifice could only succeed if I carried it out personally.

The reason? Most likely the Pure White Eye... If I'm right, it has been selecting transmigrators and introducing them into this world.

No wonder the God of Knowledge and Wisdom invested in me from the very beginning. He must have encountered more than one transmigrator carrying the Pure White Eye."

Ebner sighed, somewhat relieved by this revelation, though he bitterly smiled as he continued analyzing:

"In retrospect, Painful Demoness Ray was probably more than just a distraction arranged by the God of Knowledge for me. She likely had many schemes tied to her.

Starting from when she was corrupted by the Primordial Moon — no, from when she stole the Earth Mother Church's sealed artifact and used that doctor to ascend to Sequence 5, she had been manipulated by multiple forces.

Through her, the sealed artifact '1-025' conveniently escaped the Church of the Storms' control without arousing suspicion since the Indulgence Faction was also involved.

Simultaneously, she allowed '1-025' to be covertly corrupted by the Primordial Moon.

At the end of her life, she even drew a symbol representing the Chained God. She likely realized something after breaking free of corruption and tried to gain favor from either the Chained God or the Mother Tree of Desire by signaling them.

Unfortunately for her, I blew her head off with the Apostle of Desire ability before the ritual could succeed.

Now that I think about it, the ability's potency back then may not have been solely due to the sealed artifact's backlash filling her mind with 'desire.' The unfinished ritual likely amplified the effects of 'desire detonation.'

After the demoness incident, due to Xio, I inadvertently traced '1-025' but was interrupted when it cut off the Pure White Eye's ability.

At the time, I didn't think much of it. But looking back, even when peering at the Gray Fog, I fainted only because my spirituality was drained. The Pure White Eye was never forcibly interrupted...

For a mere Grade 1 sealed artifact to do this? The only explanation is that it has some connection with the Pure White Eye.

This provides further evidence that Danit was likely introduced to this world by the Pure White Eye.

"In the struggle for the ownership of '1-025,' the Church of the Storms, Dawn of Elements, and Rose School of Thought clashed near Conva Town. In the end, the sealed artifact took the opportunity to hide in the tomb of Baron Conva, which had been corrupted by the Chaos Sea, and attached itself to his body.

"This feels a bit too coincidental... Heh, Dawn of Elements was founded by Bernadette. She may have received a hint from Roselle and deliberately orchestrated this?

"As for the Church of the Storms... Given their previous blunders and their lack of effort in reclaiming '1-025' even after the military obtained it, it seems likely that the 'Tyrant' was also a hidden hand behind the scenes.

"The battle that caused heavy rains in the outskirts of Backlund might have had two sides acting as 'performers,' with only the Rose School of Thought genuinely fighting... With their personal involvement, no one suspected any coincidence.

"Later, Baron Conva 'devoured' members of the Secret Order in Backlund, obtaining from one of them an item capable of communicating with the Gray Fog. This allowed him to balance the three types of corruption and regain a certain level of sanity.

"Heh, an item from the Secret Order that can communicate with the Gray Fog... That was probably deliberately left by Roselle!

"Besides me, only he could craft such a thing... like the silver medallion he made as a craftsman in the original series, which, when infused with spirituality, revealed an endless expanse of gray fog.

"By this point, '1-025' had undergone preliminary 'processing,' so it soon fell into the hands of the military. According to Xio, Lord Spellsinger of God didn't even make a serious effort to claim it and even arrived late with the entire Mandated Punisher squad during that night's battle with Baron Conva.

"This whole sequence of events is perfectly logical, even to someone like me, who has read the original work and is familiar with the secrets of mysticism. There are no discernible flaws...

"This suggests that more than just the God of Knowledge and Wisdom was pulling the strings. This seamless setup seems more like Adam's handiwork!

"Given this nearly millennia-long plan, there's no way it could have remained hidden for so long without the support of 'Hidden.' Otherwise, Roselle alone would have exposed it. Did the Evernight Goddess intervene as well?

"Moreover, considering that the Earth Mother and Primordial Moon had been involved since the Demoness of Affliction incident, it seems the Mother Tree of Desire truly suffered a significant loss this time... Though the final outcome remains unclear.

"And the Primordial Moon likely came out empty-handed as well, which is why She was so furious, causing a 'Blood Moon' in broad daylight."

At this point in his analysis, Ebner couldn't help but feel a lingering sense of fear. In the "Daniel Maze" incident alone, the entities he had noticed included the God of Knowledge and Wisdom, the Evernight Goddess, the Earth Mother, the Lord of Storms, the Primordial Moon, and Adam... And who knew how many others had remained hidden from his awareness...

And he was merely a Sequence 6!

However, Ebner also understood that accepting the favor of the God of Knowledge and Wisdom and benefiting from the Pure White Eye naturally came with these costs.

After all, fate's gifts always come with a price tag, don't they?

He had long since come to terms with this and harbored no resentment.

Besides, the tasks "arranged" for him only appeared dangerous on the surface. With Roselle's "burrow" as an escape route, the risk wasn't actually too high.

"Heh, this was probably part of Roselle's calculations, hoping I'd owe him a favor so that the next holder of the Pure White Eye would rescue him?

"Never mind. Thinking about this is too premature — I'm not even a demigod yet."

As Ebner mocked himself, the "Fool" Klein set down the diary pages, letting them dissipate into nothingness. Leaning back against his chair, he chuckled softly:

"You may begin."

The "Sun" Derrick had been eager to share how he had used the "All-Black Eye" lent to him by Mr. "World" to expose the corrupted members of the investigation team under the influence of the Fallen Creator. He hoped to receive guidance on handling the situation.

However, considering it was the transaction phase, he suppressed his urge and remained silent.

The young "Sun" has something on his mind... His "acting" couldn't fool the Chief of Silver City? "Justice" Audrey retracted her thoughtful gaze and refrained from purchasing anything for the time being.

The "Hanged Man" Alger glanced around and took the initiative to say:

"I need the Ocean Songster potion formula.

"Please keep an eye out for me."
