Los Angeles Legendary Sleuth

Chapter 266 Silence_2

Luke interrupted the two's argument, "Moses, do you know why we brought you to the police station?"

"I just heard you talking about a poisoning case. I know Darcy is dead. My boyfriend is his agent. Did you arrest me because of this?"

"Exactly, we've found evidence that you poisoned Darcy." Luke tapped the folder on the table, "It's all here, we know everything you did."

"Sorry, what did you say?

Me?

You think it was me who killed Darcy?

How is that possible, I had no grievances against him, we weren't even close.

I have no reason to kill him."

"You had a reason.

Your boyfriend Markway is Darcy's agent, and there was a conflict of interest between them.

So, you purchased cyanide online and poisoned him in his mineral water."

"No, no, no, you're talking nonsense, I didn't poison anyone, nor did I buy cyanide."

Luke pulled out a document from the folder, "Is this IP address yours?"

"Yes, it's my home address, what about it?"

"A Dell computer used this IP to log into a black market website and purchase cyanide, was it you?"

"I don't have a Dell computer, I use an Apple computer, I only use Apple products, never other brands."

"Then, whose Dell computer is it?"

"Oh my God, this is horrible!" Moses slapped his cheeks with his hands, "I don't know what to say."

Luke pressed, "You used another computer to purchase cyanide."

"No, like I said, I didn't buy cyanide, never have, nor have I ever logged into a black market website.

It wasn't me."

"Then who was it?"

"I don't know who did it."

"That computer used your home IP; you tell me you don't know.

If you don't want to talk to us, you'll have to explain it to the jury."

Moses fanned himself with his hand, "I feel so unwell, I don't want to betray... It's really hard for me."

"Moses, my colleague is searching your home. Even if you don't speak up, we can still find out. However, by then you will still be under suspicion."

"I've told you, this has nothing to do with me, and I don't know who used my home network to log into the black market, but... I know who has a Dell computer."

"Who?"

"Markway."

"Markway Sakozi?"

"Yes."

Luke nodded, "You don't have to feel guilty; you're just stating the facts, which is good." Luke probed further, "Did Markway poison Darcy?"

"No, I don't know, I don't know anything. What I said is true, if it wasn't for you coming to me today, I wouldn't even know about the cyanide purchase.

It's terrifying, I can't believe it."

"What was the relationship like between Markway and Darcy? Did they ever have a conflict?"

"They used to get along well, but... there has been friction recently."

"What kind of friction?"

"I asked Markway, but he didn't want to say much.

However, I heard them arguing over the phone, Darcy seemed to want to break the contract.

Markway called him an ungrateful bastard."

Luke took notes, "Have you been to Shanyuan Supermarket?"

"Yes, I have."

"What did you do there?"

"That supermarket isn't far from my house; I sometimes go there to buy some food and supplies."

"Did you ever buy Caffèlla brand red wine at the supermarket?"

"How did you know?"

"Like I said, we know everything you've done." Luke attempted to project an image of control, "How is the Caffèlla red wine?"

"Not good? Just thinking about it makes me upset." Moses's expression soured, as if recalling an unpleasant memory, "At that time, Markway and Darcy's relationship was tense, and he wasn't too happy.

I wanted to cheer him up, so I arranged a romantic candlelit dinner and bought a bottle of Caffèlla red wine.

We chatted over the wine; the atmosphere was excellent.

I put a lot of thought into that day, but I felt it was all worth it.

Just as we were nearly done eating, Markway said he needed to go to the bathroom.

I didn't think much of it at the time and just quietly waited for him while sipping the wine, but it was a long wait and he didn't come out.

That's when I started feeling a stomachache.

It was that kind of urge... to use the bathroom.

I went to the bathroom door and knocked, asking Markway to come out.

But Markway said his stomach was uncomfortable too and he needed to wait longer.

At that point, my stomach was hurting so much, but with Markway still in the bathroom, I had to go to the second-floor restroom.

It was difficult to walk even one step; I had to climb to the second floor with my legs clenched, and just as I opened the door to the bathroom..."

Moses clenched his fists and pounded the table, as if reliving a terrible memory.

"Did you soil your pants?" Little Black stifled a laugh.

Moses glared back, "Can't you have a little sympathy, you jerk? Do you know how embarrassing that was for me?

The loving dinner, the romantic date, it all went to ruin."

Daisy covered her head, "God, that day was a disaster, a complete disaster."

Luke asked further, "Did you ever consider what might have caused your stomachaches?"

"We thought about it. At first, we suspected the food, but we have different tastes. Some things he doesn't eat, some I don't eat.

The foods we both ate couldn't likely have caused such a severe problem.

Later, Markway found something wrong with the bottle of wine; he discovered a needle-sized hole on the side of the wine bottle."
